Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI was used solely for the creation of a store/community icon associated with this product. No gameplay content, in-game assets, or soundtrack audio were generated using AI.
During the development of this game, artificial intelligence tools were used strictly for pre-generated content. Specifically, AI was utilized to assist with code refinement, the creation of initial concept art, and the design of certain user interface (UI) elements. All AI-assisted assets and code were thoroughly reviewed, modified, and integrated manually to ensure they meet the game's specific style and technical requirements.
Some visual elements of the game have been created with the use of ai.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating some in-game visual assets, graphical assets, and store marketing artwork. All generated materials were selected, edited, adjusted, and reviewed by the developer before being included. The game does not use generative AI to generate content during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used to help create parts of this game, always under the developer's direction: a significant part of the artwork (such as backgrounds, unit graphics, UI elements and store page images) was created with AI assistance and then reviewed, edited and hand-tuned by the developer. AI also assisted in writing the in-game text and translating it, along with this store page, into the supported languages. Music and sound effects are not AI-generated. No AI content is generated live during gameplay.
Source Code, Graphic, Sound used LLM
Generative AI was used for some game assets, music, and promotional materials. All content was manually reviewed and selected. No AI is used during gameplay.
This game is built by a two-member team: a human developer and an AI assistant working under his direction. Large parts of the game code and many pre-rendered assets (enemy creatures, towers, environment props, marketing artwork) were created with the assistance of generative AI — always based on human design decisions, and reviewed, tested and curated by the developer. The game does not generate any content at runtime using AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating and refining certain pre-generated 2D visual assets, including character artwork, environments, user interface elements, promotional materials, and store page graphics. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not send player input to external AI services.
Used AI to generate cover photo of the game.
Train Trek uses generative AI in two ways. During development we used AI tools to help make some assets: the user-interface art (HUD and menu icons, menu artwork, frames, button plates, mouse cursors), the instrumental soundtrack, and some sound effects. All of it was chosen, edited and finished by hand before it shipped. The 3D models are built procedurally by our own scripts, and the design, world generation and balancing are authored by hand. Parts of the source code were written with an AI coding assistant, reviewed and tested by the developer. While you play, the game speaks using a text-to-speech model that ships inside the game and runs entirely on your own computer. It voices tutorial guidance, hints and menu narration instead of pre-recorded audio. It needs no internet connection, sends nothing anywhere, and never records or listens to you. It only reads lines we wrote and shipped with the game - it does not invent dialogue.
using artificial intelligence for images
Artificial intelligence tools were used in the creation of this game’s art assets and code.
Localizations are mostly AI generated. AI was lightly used in programming.
Some 3D models (aircraft) in this game were created with generative AI tools and then reviewed and edited by our development team.
Generative artificial intelligence has been used to create store page thumbnails based on the developer's scene work. Generative artificial intelligence has been used by the developer to vastly improve the performance of the developers code with respect to loading times. The developer struggled for months to figure out how to reduce a 30 second+ loading time and thanks to the contributions of gen AI that has been brought down to 5 seconds.
Generative AI (Claude, Anthropic) was used to draft narrative text including level briefing descriptions, objective text, and in-game educational hints. All narrative content was written collaboratively with human review and editing before inclusion in the final game.
VOIDWAVE's game design, programming, and automation simulation are built by hand. Some visual assets — certain sprites, icons, and UI art — were created with the help of generative AI tools and hand-edited to fit the game's style, and the game's music is AI-generated. Sound effects use procedural synthesis (not AI). All gameplay, systems, and balancing are human-designed, and all content is finalized during development — nothing is AI-generated while you play.
Store image generated by AI
Some pre-made assets (3D models, sound effects, portraits, and some textures) were created with generative AI tools and then curated and integrated by hand. Music is human-composed and licensed. No AI content is generated while you play.
This game used AI-assisted tools in the following areas: Achievement icons: AI-assisted generation Some game code: AI-assisted writing Game design, gameplay logic, balancing, core systems, and final testing were done entirely by humans.
Generative AI was used only during the early testing and prototyping stages to create temporary placeholder images for visualisation and internal evaluation. These images will not be included in the final released version of the game and will be replaced with original, professionally produced artwork. The final game will not contain any AI-generated images, text, audio, or other AI-generated assets. It also does not use generative AI to produce content during gameplay.
AI was used to generate art for in-game use and marketing materials. No AI is present in the gameplay. All enemy "ghosts" are real players.
Some store page / marketing artwork (capsule images) was created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All in-game content is human-made.
The game assets were inspired by AI assistance
1.Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating some in-game art assets. 2.Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating and debugging some in-game code.
This game developer uses AI only for a few music tracks (with licence) and one sprite generated and modified FROM the original developer artwork (the main menu "station 42 sprite"). All artwork, ui, and sounds effects do NOT use AI whatsoever.
Some assets on my store page are optimized with generative AI.
Some 2D art assets (e.g. icons, store capsules, background art) were created with the help of generative AI image tools and then curated and edited by the developer. No AI-generated content is produced live during gameplay.
We used generative AI tools to assist in creating in-game background illustrations. All AI-generated assets were pre-rendered during development and do not generate content in real-time.
AI was only used to generate the images of the game login screen throughout the entire game.
This game uses pre-generated generative AI content to assist with select 2D artwork, UI elements, and/or marketing materials. This content was reviewed and, where necessary, edited by the developer. No content is generated live by AI during gameplay.
Some in-game art assets and some promotional art assets on the store page were created with AI-assisted production.
Some of the game's code, graphics, and music are generated by AI.
We used Gemini (Google's Generative AI) to assist with Japanese to English localization and text translation.
Generative AI assisted with: English localization (AI-translated, developer-reviewed), some store-page capsule art (generated programmatically), and store-page description text. No AI runs live/at runtime in the game. Core code, game design and original in-game sprite art were made by the developer.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of the visual assets displayed on the Steam store page, including capsules, promotional artwork, backgrounds, and other marketing images. AI was also used to assist in the creation of certain 2D visual assets used in the game. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer before being included. No generative AI is used during gameplay or by players.
AI-generated art objects
A pre-rendered cinematic intro sequence was created with the assistance of AI-based video generation tools. Some visual assets were generated or refined using AI image generation.
Slimeball Castle Wars was made by a solo developer with the help of generative AI tools. AI was used during development to help create: Music and audio — background music tracks were made using AI music-generation tools. Art and sprites — building art, unit sprites, and other in-game graphics were created or assisted with AI image tools. In-game text — some descriptions and written content were drafted with AI assistance. Code — parts of the game's code were written with the help of an AI coding assistant.
C helps about the game.
IA was used for the 2d animation that Will be on the marketing video.
Some Assets, SFX, BGM and Artwork were used in the making of this game.
The creative direction and design of this game are the work of the developer. All code, copywriting, artwork, background images, and non-Chinese translations were AI-assisted.
Action & Automation is not only how the game plays, it is how the game was made. As the game’s sole human developer, game director, and system architect, I designed the core gameplay systems, software architecture, worldbuilding, narrative framework, story design, and gameplay balance. That is the Action. For the Automation, I deliberately pushed generative AI throughout the production pipeline, with quality and player experience as the only limits. Following my direction and specifications, AI produced much of the code, artwork, animation, VFX, and UI, and was used for text polishing and localization. No generative AI model or external AI service runs during gameplay. The game requires no AI account, API key, subscription, or token credits. Any apparent AI thinking or reasoning is scripted or driven by conventional game AI systems. Human-designed. AI-produced. That is Action & Automation.
AI was used to translate text from English to other languages.
Some of the displayed assets and upgrade text descriptions in-game are using human-verified LLM pre-generated content.
Some of Citadel Zero's visual assets (pixel-art sprites, icons, and backgrounds) were created with the help of generative AI tools, then reviewed and refined by the developer. All such content is pre-generated and baked into the game — Citadel Zero performs no real-time AI generation and connects to no AI service while you play.
Generative AI was only used for 2D artworks such as UI icons, game logo and store materials.
Some PNG assets were created with the assistance of AI.
