Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some promotional images, visual assets, and translations on the Steam store page were generated or enhanced using AI tools.
The game uses AI-assisted translation to localize in-game text into multiple languages. All other content is created by human developers using licensed assets.
We have utilized AI tools during development to help make our peaceful sanctuary accessible to players worldwide in their native languages. All AI-assisted elements fall under pre-generated content: In-Game Translations: Game texts and quests were translated from the Slovak original using AI. We actively work with community volunteers to review these. Any languages that have not yet undergone human verification are clearly marked within the game settings as AI/machine translations. Marketing Copy: AI was used extensively to draft and translate store descriptions and marketing materials for international storefronts (without subsequent human verification). The core game design, mechanics, storyline, and atmosphere are entirely our own original work. AI served purely as a technical tool to deliver faster localization.
This game uses AI-generated visuals.
During the development of this game, generative AI tools were utilized to assist with coding and to help design the User Interface elements.
This game uses AI as an aid in the marketing and coding process.

The images for the steam store were created using concept images, some of which were ai-generated. And the text for the steam store page was translated using google translate. Except for english, dutch/nederlands, and german/deutsch.
None of the assets seen or heard in the game have been generated by AI, but AI generated images and music have been used when ideating the finished content created by humans. AI has been used to help in the coding process and localisation, but everything has been always checked (if not created) by at least one human. Localisations usually have been created by one person and checked by another to assure quality of translations.
AI-generated audio resources
Some images in the game were generated using AI.
AI were used to assist with translating text into multiple languages.
As a solo developer I used Generative AI to localization the game, along with some Icons :)
AI was used in the creation of a limited amount of audio content.
Art: AI used for concepts; final assets are human-refined. Audio: AI used for select tracks; the rest are human-composed. Code: AI-assisted scripting and optimization. Localization: AI-translated with manual adjustments.
As a solo indie developer, I use AI for multi-language localization. This helps me deliver a smoother, more accessible player experience while allowing me to focus more time on gameplay, systems, level design, and so on.
- The store capsule image uses AI and is then retouched. - Translation was performed by using LLMs
This game uses AI only for partial text localization, such as translating sticker names. All stickers and scene artwork are entirely hand-drawn and no AI is used in any visual assets.
In our project, AI was used to partially create art assets, helping our artists bring some ideas to life.
AI is used exclusively for creating musical content.
Some music tracks, background narration scripts, and concept drafts were created with the help of AI tools during development. All AI-assisted content was then refined, edited, and finalized by our developers. No AI content is generated live during gameplay.

Sketch Play includes an in-game assistant called Scholia. When you ask her to look at a page, she reads your drawing and writes back her impressions, a few things to try next, and an experience-point reward. That written feedback is generated by Gemma 4 E2B, a small open-weights AI model. Scholia cannot draw. She has no ability to generate images, alter your artwork, or add anything to the page. Everything in your sketchbook is drawn by you and the people you invite. The model runs entirely on your own computer. No account or internet connection is required, nothing you draw is uploaded, and none of your work is used to train anything. Her notes are one opinion, and she has biases.
AI was used exclusively for the creation of video and music clips.
Artificial intelligence was used to process certain images in the game.
Only the Steam key art (logo images) uses AI.
This game uses AI-assisted tools for fact-checking and content verification.
The text and voice for conversations with characters in the game are both generated in real-time by AI.
This game utilizes machine translation for localization.
We use machine translation to help translate the store page descriptions. None of the content in this game uses generative AI at all. Every game asset is handcrafted by our game artist and collaborator, and all the photos are legally licensed from stock photo site. We credit the respective owners of each photo within the corresponding levels. The in-game translations were entirely handled by our community members without any assistance from generative AI.
This game uses AI technology for sketch-to-image generation. Players can draw sketches in-game and use AI models based on Stable Diffusion 1.5 to convert sketches into complete images. We use self-trained LoRA models to provide specific artistic styles. All AI-generated content is controlled through a strict prompt filtering system to ensure compliance with Steam's content policies.
Some of the promotional images on the store page are AI-generated.
Explanation about the game development process: In the early concept design and creative ideation stage of this game, we did use AI technology as an auxiliary tool to help us explore and validate various artistic styles and creative directions more quickly. These AI-generated reference materials provided us with initial inspiration. However, the core creative concepts, story writing, character design, and all artistic assets presented in the final game were personally conceived and carefully crafted by our creative team. Each game element underwent repeated human optimization and fine-tuning to ensure the best gaming experience. AI was only used as an auxiliary tool, and the final game content presented is the result of human creation. We have always adhered to human creation as the main driver, committed to bringing players a unique and meticulously polished gaming experience.
During development, we use AI-assisted tools in a limited and transparent way. These tools may help us with coding support, minor visual stylization, and creating quick promotional or icon-style variations based on assets we made ourselves. In all cases, the final game reflects the work, creative direction, and decisions of our own development team.

All our puzzles are created from 3D scans of real world places or modelled by human 3D artists. Occasionally our 3D artists use some limited generative AI tools as part of their process, e.g. for cleaning up texture artifacts of 3D scans or adding small details like figures or objects. We will never use any fully AI generated content directly in the game.
We use AI to generate some of the textures and music for the game.
As a solo indie developer, I used AI tools to generate some of the in-game voices. These voices were carefully selected and refined to fit the game's vision and deliver a unique experience.

About this game: 1. The Simplified Chinese translation was initially generated using Online Translator and later proofread and revised by a human translator. 2. A small portion of the game's code was adjusted with the help of ChatGPT, while the majority was written by the developer.

The development process of the game used AI to generate backgrounds, characters images, and other images such as runes for match-3, and jigsaw images. Game logo was partially generated with AI. Additionally, AI was used to generate voice-overs and some part of localization into French and German.
The game's icons were created by an artist and with the use of generative AI tools to automate certain processes, such as removing backgrounds, among others. We ensured compliance with all copyright and intellectual property policies.
