Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some images shipped in the game were created with generative AI during development and then selected and reviewed by the developer. No other shipped content was generated by AI.
As a solo developer with a big dream and limited resources, I want to be entirely upfront how this game was built. The vast majority of this game is completely human-made: I crafted the pixel characters, animations, code, and story over the past 10 years. I also utilized incredible royalty-free and purchased assets from human creators like gyvr, Eunity, RafaelMatos, penusbmic, Winlu, Geoff Harvey. The use of generative AI was for touching up and refining the marketing capsule images using Adobe Photoshop tools.
Hero Chains of Destiny includes pre-generated content created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. This includes selected artwork, music, and sound effects. All generated content is reviewed, curated, and approved by the developer before being included in the game.
All in-game artwork, music, and sound effects were made by people, not generative AI.
Some UI elements are AI-generated placeholders.
Some of this game's visual assets—character portraits, backgrounds, and CG—were created using generative AI tools.
As a solo developer, I used AI text-to-speech to voice characters. Everything else, including 3D models, textures, writing, and design, was made by me.
All the artwork in the Steam store was generated using AI.
Some visual and text content in KAZENRA was created or refined with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. All such content was reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated by the developer before release. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with localization, programming, and store/marketing text. All AI-assisted output was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI at runtime and does not generate live AI content.
Solis Chronicles uses generative AI for pre-rendered content. Character art, backgrounds, event illustrations, video sequences, the title artwork, and the logo were created with generative AI tools (Flux, Nano Banana, Seedream, PixVerse, WAN) under human art direction, with reference-locked character designs. The music was generated locally with ACE-Step under human direction. The story, characters, and game design are human-authored. Dialogue was written with substantial AI assistance and edited by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay; everything is pre-rendered and human-reviewed.
Generative AI was used during development to assist in the creation of some 3D models and visual assets. These assets are used alongside content created manually by the developer.

Some music, sound effects were created with the assistance of generative AI. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Generative AI tools are used during development to create some 3D assets as Place Holders and assist with Art/ music Content. These materials are prepared in advance and incorporated into the game or its store page. The game does not generate content using generative AI during gameplay. Some character voice recordings are also created using generative AI.
All images in the game were generated by AI, as was the artwork on the Steam page.
Generative AI was used during development as an assistive tool for code prototyping and localization, and to create some pre-generated visual content, including fictional patient photographs used as environmental and narrative elements in the game. AI-generated concept art is used only as internal visual reference and is not included as game assets. All AI-generated content included in the game is pre-generated. No generative AI runs during gameplay. Final level design, asset placement, gameplay systems, narrative implementation, and asset integration are created and assembled by the developer.
浣熊的設計與建模過程中有使用AI生成輔助,加快製作速度與溝通效率,後續調整了許多使其適配我們的遊戲本身。
Most of the game's visual art and sound was pre-generated with AI tools and then selected, edited and placed by the developer: the dungeon panoramas, room props, floors, town and building plates, character portraits, walk and combat sprite sheets, monster, boss and villager sprites, item, skill and stack icons, combat and reward effects, and the store page art were generated with the FLUX.1 image model through fal.ai and animated with AutoSprite; the sound effects, ambience beds, voice barks and music were generated with ElevenLabs. Every generated file, the tool that made it and the prompt that asked for it are recorded in the game's files (assets/README.md and assets/PROMPTS.md). All game text, design, rules and code are written by people. Nothing is generated while you play: the game contains no live AI generation and calls no AI service at runtime.
This game contains AI-generated character sprites and store page images.
Generative AI was used during development to create pre-generated visual assets for the game, including character artwork, card artwork, backgrounds, visual effects, textures, UI artwork, and promotional materials. some code and text translation used AI
I’m developing NARON as a solo project. I use AI tools to translate the in-game text into additional languages.
Some background and minor graphics are done with AI. All translations are done with AI.
- Localization (translation) of in-game text from the original Japanese into [English, Chinese, etc.]The original Japanese text was written by the developer without AI. All AI-generated translations were reviewed and adjusted by the developer before being included in the game. If you find any translation issues, please let us know via the Steam discussions.
Code was written using help of AI tools, all artwork is human made.
As with most VTT systems, users are welcome to import assets made anywhere. Phroller makes it easier than ever. You can just drag the image or model files into the VTT directly from your browser or file system! I want to encourage supporting real artists where we can though. As such I do my best to collaborate with real creatives on the vast Phroller libraries. Each one of the assets in the library has a field showing the artist behind it. If you like their work, please consider checking them out. Many of them are open for commissions as well! However, I cannot guarantee that assets or part of those assets were created with no AI use at all. A large amount of the assets are made before 2022 though, so we should be safe there. While I do my best to make Phroller as user friendly as possible, it does still require a ton of instructions and manuals. Frontier models are used to keep some of the text up to date across rapid early access development. Sorry if it sounds robotic!
Some store artwork for this game was created using generative AI tools.
A small number of in-game sound effects were produced with AI assistance.
Pre-generated generative AI was used to create some 2D visual assets, including selected in-game sign textures and store/marketing artwork. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Generative AI assisted in creating some in-game art and visual-effect assets, Steam store promotional images, background music, and some localized text. The developer reviewed and selected these materials, editing them where needed before including them in the game or store page. The game does not use generative AI to create content at runtime.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with some promotional/store artwork, minor code edits, and the improvement and iteration of some music. AI-generated content is not created dynamically during gameplay.
The use of AI is limited to select visual assets, which were manually reviewed, repainted, and integrated to fit the art direction. The project features original artwork hand-drawn by my artistic partner alongside an original acoustic piano score, entirely composed and performed by me. This is an independent, completely free passion project with zero monetization, made out of a genuine love for game development. Thank you for playing.
We use generative AI across all disciplines of game development with heavy amounts of human editing. That involves audio and visual art. We use it as a productivity tool so we can achieve a higher level of quality, faster, than we would have been able to.
localization assistance.
Generative AI was used during development to create and refine pre-generated visual assets for Legends of the Pitch, including character illustrations, environment artwork, card and interface imagery, and promotional artwork for the Steam store. No AI content is generated during gameplay, and the game does not connect to any external AI service while playing.
Some promotional images on the Steam store are made with artificial intelligence; no artificial intelligence-made art assets are used in the game.
・Some of the posters were created using generative AI (ChatGPT and Gemini). ・Some of the voices were created using generative AI (Ondoku). ・The translations were created using generative AI (Gemini).
