Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

There some images generated by AI, prompted by the creative lead with the aim to showcase the concept he imagined. They are mainly placeholders for future artworks.

Generative AI is used for some of the card artwork in our game. And we use pre-coded, calculative AI for our AI opponent in some aspects of gameplay.
Generative AI has been used during the development process, notably to create main title elements and some boss character artwork that appear in the current. No dynamic AI content is generated during gameplay. Everything was pre-rendered during development.
Whilst building our game “Realms of Alterra”, we have had the unique opportunity to craft our game world around these agents. Building the game world in tandem with the AI has allowed us to simulate societies. I will now go into more detail about the ingredients that make up the technology we have built. Our characters currently utilize an internal monologue to guide its interactions. This is based on a number of factors such as relationships, feelings, and its observation about the current world. The crucial component that ties it all together is the use of an adaptive long term memory, which allows AIs to recall all interactions its had with different people, as well as significant events that have happened. Relevant memories recalled based on what is happening to the character at the moment. Our system of emotions allows us to determine how a character is feeling at any given time; These are used to then further guide the behavior of our characters, both in speech and decision making. With regards to autonomy, our agents can freely choose what to do in the world. We accomplish this by making the available actions known to each character, and giving them the option to choose their intention, which is then executed on the game engine. In the near future we plan to include task planning and reprioritization, which allows each character to dynamically change its priorities, and thus its behaviors, constantly as the world changes around them. In addition to this, we also plan to improve the memory system to include relationship and associative memories, which allow for more complex reasoning and conditioning behaviors We think that this is the future of RPG gaming. With our technology, we can create a new market of gamer- the social gamer to freely interact in a social simulation sandbox where anything is possible. I can’t be the only one who has wondered what would happen if I just took my pants off in the middle of an important business meeting, how people around me would react, and how my life would change as a result of that interaction. With a social simulation sandbox, these burning questions can be answered!
Images for cards, modifiers and challenges are generated using AI.
Tickle Monster has used the Midjourney AI service to generate most of the images shown in the game. In particular, the 650+ player images were generated using heavily pixelated and manually-edited composite images as source material, and mascots were generated from text inputs. None of the text content is AI-generated, though. For more on the process used to generate player images, see this blog post: https://www.ticklemonster.com.au/2023/06/14/photobashing-game-assets-via-midjourney/
For our game, we've generated the following content using pre-production AI tools: 1.Hero illustrations for the gacha interface. 2.Hero icons. Background music for the game.

Our Policy for AI Use Even if, and disclose from time to time that, we use AI in some of our products, it never means that our product consists of AI-generated content, which is simply impossible but may be presumed by some people. We continue our due diligence and necessary efforts to come up with the best content. AI is a field that we keep track of and welcome curiously and excitedly. It is something not the world gives us but what we get from the world according to our requirements. However, We always consider the rights of commercial and ethical use of AI. Therefore, we subscribe to their content, pay their respective fee, and keep their receipts/licenses. How may we use AI? We may use outsourced AI in a number of different ways in addition to our own in-game AI mechanics, as it gives us uniqueness and originality as we like, and as long as its content is compliant with our above policy: Sound files: We have a large collection of audio clips we have purchased and keep purchasing. We also have the means to make our own sound files. Sometimes we may also use AI-made sounds to make audio clips as well if we fail to find what we are looking for in our archive. Graphics: We may use AI for some of our graphical assets. We have various means like software with which we can create characters, particularly our animated characters in the trailers and cutscenes, which are our own unique designs. We may use AI in this particular game in relation to the environment and some of the ancillary icons, finishings, and corrections. Ideas: We may chat with AI about whether an idea is suitable for the current genre we are working on. However, we plan to discontinue this use of AI as it lacks originality. For example, when we asked for the names of two female characters for a fantasy game, AI suggested “Anya and Ayleen.” They are obviously names used before and we needed to change the names of our two characters. The above use of our AI may naturally appear on our store page as we include fragments from our game to introduce and promote it. This policy may be subject to change depending on the developments, ethical considerations, and circumstances regarding the use of AI in the future.
some pictures and charaters are made by AI.
The game's intro video and ingame backgrounds were first created with 3D renders and then styled using Stable Diffusion. However, no images were created from scratch with ai. The resulting visuals were then cleaned up and refined using PixageFX and a pixel art editor. Additionally, a large portion of the character voiceovers were done using 'murf.ai' except 'Mike Jack'.

1001 Nights is a story-crafting game that started development as early as 2020, exploring creative narrative gameplay to bring players novel experiences they've never had before: telling stories and turning those stories into reality. All traditional game art assets are hand-crafted by our talented human artists. This includes character illustrations, scene models, UI elements, and all visual components that form the core aesthetic of our game. The game features an adaptive LLM-based storytelling system that responds to your unique inputs based on a language model called Qwen. Our narrative engine draws from the rich tradition of Persian folklore and our original hand-written story frameworks by paid writers, then dynamically adapts these materials to create personalized experiences based on your inputs. Each playthrough becomes a unique collaboration between you and our narrative system. Our guiding principle has always been to create gaming experiences that were previously impossible - where technology serves as a creative collaborator rather than a replacement for human imagination. The soul of 1001 Nights comes from our human creators, inspired by ancient Persian folklore and brought to life through innovative narrative systems. For technical details about our implementation and the academic research behind our systems, please refer to the in-game introduction, and our published papers available on our official website. We're a small indie team committed to pushing the boundaries of interactive storytelling while respecting both player creativity and artistic integrity. We welcome any questions or feedback about our creative process via adaeden1001[at]gmail[dot]com or through our Discord community. Your input helps us continue improving this unique storytelling experience.
