The Game store page's art work is generated using AI The commercial Generative Image Generator model guarantee that images are not copyrighted material?
We do not use unedited AI-generated content - every image in the game is handcrafted by our 2D art team. However, they use AI-generated images as rough drafts that are later polished or fully reworked by the 2D art team. We only use AI-generated images as drafts for art assets. All other assets - texts, music, UI - are 100% human-made. We would not want to diminish the efforts of our 2D art team who spent countless hours working on the game to bring you the best experience - we just feel the need to be transparent. We also want to highlight that all images are processed by human artists in the end.
Generative AI has been used in the creation of the 2D graphics, music, voices and sound effects present in this game and it's marketing materials. We are in the early days of AI. I think it's important for creators to experiment with it, but doing so morally seems impossible. As a compromise I've pledged 50% of the game's income to hire human artists.
Dall-E 3 was used to help generate the textures and pixel art, no artist prompts were used, just generic terms. Suno was used for the music.
The main menu background is AI generated. That same art is used for some of the Steam Capsules.
This game currently uses some stand-in images created via generative AI. This includes some background screens, fluff images, and pilot portraits. All other gameplay visuals are manually crafted.
for the character illustration.
AI generation for the store page and any Steam community assets or marketing materials has been done by the developer.
Artwork and textures use generative AI
Using AI to generate visual posters and visual elements used for marketing purposes
AI art was used for the capsule image
The AI-generated elements in the game include: NPC character illustrations in the game
AI is used to generate daily puzzle levels using a procedural generation algorithm. However, no AI was used to generate any art asset content for Crabity.
我们使用AI生成了一部分剧本描写、美术素材、音乐素材和音效。 我们将不断推进AI在艺术创作中的实际应用。想要交流这方面的最新进展,欢迎联系我们。
Some images were used for loading screens and brief story descriptions. All of these images have been licensed for use.
text to speech voices
AI tools were used for some robot voices, images used with one of the puzzles, and some elements in the story video.
Some of the static images in Celestial Contact were created with the support of artificial intelligence.
Icons
This game uses AI-generated images (via MidJourney) exclusively for the environmental background.
The use of AI in the development process has been strictly limited to translation purposes. All graphical assets and code have been exclusively created by professional developers and artists, with no exceptions. And also no AI-generated content has been utilized in the production of these elements.
Generative AI was used to create artwork for this game.
We utilize AI technology to create fashion picture and store asset images.
The game uses generative AI to create some 2D pictures, such as some ICONs; in addition, it also uses AI on the text to modify information such as prop descriptions.
Pre-generated AI was used during development to assist with some voice generation, audio effects, localization, and certain internal development tasks such as Blender plugin scripting, naming, brainstorming, and coding assistance. No live-generated AI is used during gameplay. All final content is reviewed and integrated by the developer.
Certain assets and images have been edited or generated with the assistance of AI. This includes objects and backgrounds. A small amount of sound effects have been generated.
Image generative AI was used to create the steam page artwork and in game icons.
We used generative AI tools during the production of our Gameplay Trailer. These tools were employed to create a portrait of the character Gramps Makar, animate it, and generate a short voice line for the trailer.
Only a few textures and sprites in the game were created using AI tools, but all of them underwent extensive manual processing, editing, and polishing. AI tools were also used for promotional materials with subsequent manual editing.
Some AI painting works are used as art reference, and some pictures extract the line draft of AI painting works for modification and use after secondary creation.
We harness generative artificial intelligence to deepen the immersive experience of this sci-fi universe, set 4970 years in a parallel future. Our AI enhances the creative process by generating dynamic text that players directly engage with, crafting unique narratives, dialogues, and event descriptions tailored to the game’s original lore. As you embody a Frame—trapped in a 24-hour mind-swap loop via the HyperNet—AI-generated text brings the galaxy to life, shaping interactions with factions like The Guild (Anu'Aki), Reapers Swarm, or the Vodah Collective, and driving the mystery of your hijacked consciousness. We ensure all AI-generated text, including narrative logs, faction communications, and in-game events, is wholly original and designed specifically for the Nexus Wars universe. Our AI operates under strict guidelines to avoid any copyrighted or trademarked material, adhering to the highest standards of creativity and legality, so every story and interaction feels authentic to this unique IP. Additionally, we utilize pre-generated AI images in-game and in Store Page assets to visually depict the Nexus Wars universe, an original IP based on the novel set in this galaxy. These AI-generated images are crafted to represent the lore and aesthetic of this world, ensuring they align with the creative vision of the universe 5000 years into the future. We also employ AI animation to enrich the gameplay experience, further immersing players in the world and its lore. These AI-generated animations and images serve as initial drafts or placeholders during development. As the game evolves, we may replace them with higher-quality renditions if necessary—though if the AI-generated quality proves indistinguishable from the highest content standards, they will remain to deliver an exceptional experience for players. This AI-generated text, imagery, and animation enriches your journey, immersing you in a galaxy of peril and wonder—from the neon grit of Cyberpunk-inspired hubs to the cosmic dread of Event Horizon-like threats. The GAME MASTER AI crafts these textual and visual experiences in real-time, ensuring that every choice, from surviving AruKai attacks to navigating Rohar Empire intrigue, enhances the storytelling and gameplay while staying true to the Nexus Wars universe.
4 designs used in the game were pleasantly given to me by people in the community. 3 of these authors just told me they used AI to make the designs. UPDATE: More designs were given to me by people in the community which are made by AI. Please be aware that some assets in the game are made by AI, along with some images on the store page.
Some of the images depicting fictional characters are generated by AI.
The game includes pre-rendered character portraits visible in cutscenes.
Loading screen images and some images in the game
AI is exclusively utilized in the pre-generated assets, with no live-generated AI employed. Following tools are used: Photoshop AI (main tool): Utilized for improving art, inpainting, and outpainting. Magnific AI: Employed for creative upscaling. Midjourney: Utilized for concept art generation of some assets. Subsequently, assets undergo a manual improvement process in Photoshop by combining different elements from the concept art to maintain a consistent art style. For robot hand animations, the process involves Spine and Adobe After Effects. Additionally, vehicles usually undergo the creation of a 3D model in Blender.
The content for the game (images of objects, ships, UI elements) was generated by artificial intelligence at the game development stage. The content does not change in any way during the game.
Some parts of the story were written with assistance using Chat GPT.
Generative AI has been used to simulate voices and generate artwork that you find in the game. Additionally AI was used for some text generation. These have been done so purposely alongside the use of generic assets to illustrate overarching points made by the game: namely the use of generative AI in video games as a topic, in keeping with the themes of the game and points it is making.
Two photos on the store page had the background generated by A.I. - Library Capsule (600 x 900 px) - Page background (1438 x 810 px)
Some images and some voice-over in the game are made with generative AI
A few textures are done using AI generated content.
There is one Image on the Top that is Partially AI generated, and there are 2 songs in the game that are AI... but nothing else.
Nearly all content in the game including gameplay, environments, and story was handcrafted. Some cosmetic elements, such as nose-art decals, icons, were AI generated or AI-assisted, then manually refined to match the game's visual style and tone.
Solo dev and 3D artist here. Most of the poster decorations hung on the walls of the workshop are AI generated. Also a small amount of boxes have AI generated parts of the textures later composed together. I would say that in the full game about 2%-3% of the textures are AI generated.
We utilize generative AI tools during the development process to enhance the overall quality and depth of the game's world. Specifically: Character Models: The mesh for the game’s final boss was created using AI-assisted generation tools, then manually refined to ensure high-quality technical standards. Localization: AI tools are used to assist in translating game text into multiple languages, which are then manually reviewed and polished for accuracy. Marketing Materials: Some promotional assets and store page visuals may include elements enhanced by AI to better represent the game's tactical vision.
Traditionally, NPCs (non-player characters) do not play active roles in video games. However, with the use of AI, they become the main characters of the game. Players can communicate with NPCs verbally through a microphone, and it is the AI that responds
AI was used to generate voiceovers for tutorial.
Translation of game dialogues
Some translations, voicelines, and assets were made using generative AI. All carefully inspected by the developer. This is used to speed up the development, and is being slowly replaced with artists authored assets. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
