Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

It is used to generate multiple textures.
We use AI technology only in one very specific way: to bring the ship’s computer to life with a voice. These lines are generated during development, not in real time. Every sound is carefully reviewed, optimized, and fine-tuned by us until it feels authentic and exactly how we imagine a spacecraft’s onboard system should sound. Our goal is immersion. The AI voice is a tool that helps us craft a computer voice that feels convincing and consistent, so that when you sit in the cockpit, it really feels like your ship is speaking to you.
Splash screen or page art might be generated using AI.
・A small number of 2D assets that don't affect gameplay (specifically poster and newspaper textures) were created using AI generation. ・Localization of English
AI was used in creating the sky box and an the index card.
We occasionally make use of Midjourney to generate small bits of level detail such as graffiti and holograms, these are however heavily modified before use.
During our game's development, we may use AI-driven tools to support our creative processes. However, please be assured that the final game content is a testament to our team's creativity and dedication. This might include visual elements like pictures within some game environments.
We are using ElevenLabs for some of our Voice-over production for Train Sim World® 5. All scripts and content are ours, but the voiceover itself has an AI element.
Store page images were prepared with the help of AI
AI-generated images were used for the game menu icon and Steam achievement icon. An AI-generated image was used for the background of the Steam store capsule.
All voice acting is AI generated. Significant parts of the code were written with the help of AI.
text to speech voices
A custom tool that detects player voices and mimics them using an AI-generated voice.
AI was used only to generate a few textures and sound effects.
I have used AI to help me make some of the artwork for marketing,
Use AI to generate some pre-rendered background music and game sound effects
Due to limited production budget, the game uses AI to create background music, voices, and textures...
During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team. Examples include voiceover audio, sound effects, music.
Minor AI use for marketing material
Game logo and clan images generated by AI
We partly use AI for our project to optimize the workflow and create smaller models, icons, textures, the logo or some texts. This saves time and helps our team to focus on the development. Game soundtrack generated with Udio.
Basic, limited use of AI in sound and 2D images.
Game uses built-in text generation AI to determine Unity-chan responses in chat, her relation responses and optionally remembers facts the user tells in chat. All generation happens offline and does not require any third party accounts or payments.
This game uses AI-generated images (via MidJourney) exclusively for the environmental background.
Mainly used to help gather information, inspire content inspiration, and check the readability of text sentences, etc.
AI was used to create marketing materials and for localization.
Images for store, marketing, and announcement pages are AI-Supported creations.
Only the music featured in the promotional trailer for this game was produced using generative AI. Additionally, generative AI was used to assist with translation of certain texts. There is no real-time content creation, gameplay, or use of generative AI in the game itself. Generative AI is not used in the creation of any in-game mechanics, text, graphics, or assets.
The main art piece for the game was AI generated.
"Mutation" contains a few sporadic elements generated through AI, but all of them have been refined and enhanced by human work to ensure high quality.
In our game, new designs can be made using pre-prepared AI visuals.
We are developing our own in-house machine-learning model which is trained on publicly available open-source data and vetted to prevent the use of any copyrighted material. This ML model is used to generate base terrain maps in Unreal Engine 5 which are then populated procedurally with custom made assets such as the trees, rivers, rocks, and hills you explore. Our artists and designers use our ML model to allow us to generate 64km2 maps that look and feel natural and realistic. The game generates a new map offline on your system every time you play.
Store page appears to contain art assets generated by artificial intelligence.
Carceri's story portrays a world made by programs, for programs. While ALL the writing, music, and 3D art in this game was created by a single human being, there is an Art Gallery in-game that contains 50 images, 17 of which have been generated by AI, (that are all clearly marked as such). These are fictionally portrayed as art works created by the characters (programs) of this world. No names of modern, living artists were used to generate these images. The prompts were words such as: Hudson River school, old masters, Delacroix, robots, abstract geometry, landscape. From there, I photo-shopped all images so that none are 100% unaltered from the generation process. Acknowledging generative imagery's existence is important to the world-building and meta-narrative of Carceri, so this was the fairest way I could think to include a small dose of these works, which are divisive by their very nature.
This game uses generative AI to assist in the creation of certain visual assets.
The background music (BGM) in the game is generated by AI.
We use an AI-generated image from Freepik by vecstock for the Capsules on the store page and library. This will change in the future.
We used ai generated contents just for capsule images.
I created a prototype of AI art using Bing AI. In my opinion, Pop Art, as defined by great artists like Andy Warhol or Roy Lichtenstein, is not only visually appealing but also produced in a simple and time-efficient manner. In this case, the use of AI can be a great tool to help achieve the desired vision for a game like this.
Some paintings.
I've used AI to help create concept art, help outline some general story and eventually voice acting until I can afford to pay someone to do all of those things.
In the early stages of game development, we utilized AI technology to generate NPC voice-overs, scene skyboxes, and song covers to enhance the gaming experience. Based on user feedback, we will consider making optimizations and replacements in the official release. We look forward to your valuable input!
Voiceovers
Due to the lack of suitable ancient settings for one scene, we utilized AI-generated images to substitute for that portion of the scene.
AI-generated photos are used for the in-game poster images.
The game features a few AI generated photos
The voice used for Aurora (the tutorial head) is AI generated from ElevenLabs.io and further processed. Some of the graphics used were generated with Leonardo.ai and further processed
AI technology was used in the production of game related art resources.
No AI live-generation content in runtime. The usage of AI was strictly only in the character voices, and CODECs. The CODEC videos are entirely from in-game assets. We have the licenses necessary to use and distribute the AI content included as part of this game.
