Public Steam disclosure research 25,706 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI was used on a local machine to create initial art, which was then altered by human artists.
As a solo developer working on a passion project, I utilized generative AI tools to assist in creating some of the visual assets for the game. This includes character portraits, background art, and certain UI elements. All music, audio and localization in the game are entirely human-made and do not use any generative AI technologies.
This game has used Generative AI during the development process. It was used minimally during coding, mostly for auto complete, <1% of the code is a result of the output from AI. More extensively is AIs use in the artwork, in order to speed up the process sketches were created by artist, details were filled in by AI, then artists corrected the output.
OceanAI uses AI to generate images, animated images, and partial real-time communication content.
Wallpapers in this game include AI-generated work.
AI-generated content is used for some in-game images and Steam library/background artwork
Generative AI was used as a coding assistant and to help create the game's capsule artwork and store marketing visuals.
Remember to Die was built solo with no official budget using AI as a creative instrument — not to replace the human decisions, but to handle the ones that would have made this game impossible otherwise. No jobs were lost, but a game was made possible.
Character and menu artwork was created using generative AI tools and later edited by the development team.
Yes, AI was used to assist the minimal localisation required to play SHED (human edited).
Some events in the game generated with AI assistance
Generative AI was used in the creation of the store page and library images.
Initial concept art was generated using AI tools, followed by manual adjustments and modifications by artists.
This game uses generative AI in a limited capacity. Some in-game images and text were created or assisted by AI during development, but they are not entirely AI-generated. All such content has been manually edited, reviewed, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the overall design and experience.
In WE ARE FOOTBALL 2027 we use about 12,500 AI-generated realistic-looking photos for generic male and female players. These pictures are e.g. displayed on the line-up screen or on the player profile screens. Only photographs of persons photographed specifically for this purpose were used.
In the development of this game, generative AI was used in the following ways: Visual Assets: Background illustrations for narrative events, UI elements, and icons were created with the assistance of generative AI. All assets were manually edited and refined by the developer to ensure stylistic consistency. Narrative Content: Initial drafts for some random event descriptions and unit barks were generated with AI assistance and subsequently revised and rewritten by the developer to maintain the game's unique tone and military setting. Audio: Some voiceover elements and unit barks may be produced using AI-assisted synthesis. All audio is pre-recorded and processed before being included in the game files. Code Assistance: AI-based tools were used during the programming process for logic optimization and debugging. Important: All AI-generated content is pre-generated and included in the static game files. No content is generated in real-time during gameplay.
Some visual assets in this game are created with the assistance of generative AI during development. This includes portions of the card artwork, some environmental/scenery visuals, and some character illustrations. These AI-assisted assets are curated, edited, and integrated by the developer as part of the game’s art pipeline. No live-generated AI content is used during gameplay.
Some visual assets and parts of the localization were created with the assistance of AI tools and refined manually.
Certain 2D visual assets, character portraits and voice communications in the game were created with the assistance of AI tools during the development process. All AI-generated content is static; the game does not feature any real-time or live AI-generated interactions.
AI was used for early concepts and drafts, but no AI assets ship unchanged in the final game.
The Geopogo Cities: Windsor Detroit logo was AI generated.

Generative AI was not used for in-game art, gameplay assets, systems, or core game content. AI translation tools were used only for some additional text added later during development. Most localization was handled by a professional translation vendor. The only AI-generated visual assets currently used are the Steam header capsule and library logo illustrations, which were manually retouched. They are not used inside the actual game, and I plan to replace them after release if the game earns enough revenue.
Supermarcat uses AI-generated content for marketing and promotional materials, including: • Store page visual assets (capsule images, backgrounds, promotional artwork) • Marketing screenshots and promotional images for Steam store presence • Visual elements for social media and community content All AI-generated content is used exclusively for marketing purposes and does not affect gameplay mechanics, game balance, or core game content. The actual game assets (sprites, animations, code, audio) are created by human developers. AI tools are used to enhance the visual presentation of the game on digital storefronts and promotional channels, ensuring professional quality marketing materials while maintaining authentic gameplay developed entirely by human creators.
Generative AI tools were used exclusively for the creation of marketing materials and store capsules. No generative AI was used to create the in-game assets, which consist of a mix of custom work and hand-crafted assets from third-party creators.
LLMs were used to review code and help with marketing material
The card images and effects in the game are generated using AI
This product uses pre-generated AI-assisted content during development. AI tools were used to help create some promotional artwork, selected visual assets, and some development-support content such as text or localization assistance. The game does not use live-generated AI during gameplay.
Some images were generated using AI
Some static background images and card textures.
AI was used to translate the store descriptions and in-game text into several languages.
We use generative AI tools during development to create certain pre-rendered audio assets (sound effects and background music). We ensure that prompts do not reference copyrighted works, artists, or specific intellectual property. We use commercially licensed AI services and comply with their terms of service.
Some background music tracks, 2D images, and 3D assets in the game were generated using AI tools.
Isometric city view is generated
Due to its independent development, this game makes limited use of AI to generate images and model materials
What parts AI applied to are: pictures like icon, button, background; language translation. And no more other visual elements like, objects rendering, model, post process effect have used AI.
IA has been used for : - Localization (JP, SC, TC, RU)
AI-generated tools were used only for limited promotional materials, such as marketing images displayed on the store page. All in-game content, including gameplay visuals, UI, and assets, is created by human artists and does not involve AI generation. AI-generated content does not affect gameplay, user experience, or core game assets.
Used AI to create some portrait materials and visual images while preserving realism as much as possible.
Some of the English text in this game has been translated using generative AI tools; all Chinese content was written manually by the developer.
This game utilizes generative AI technology to create some 3D models, background music (BGM), and sound effects to efficiently generate resources during the production process.
Achievement images and animation roullette images are generated with AI.
As a small, two-person independent development team, we utilized generative AI tools to create some of our character visuals and background artworks due to budget constraints. To ensure originality and maintain our artistic vision, these AI tools were guided by our own artist's original work, with their explicit permission. Please note that these AI-generated assets are currently serving as placeholders. As development continues and our resources grow, we plan to replace them with original, hand-drawn artwork in future updates. The game does not feature any live AI content generation during gameplay.
Store page splash art is using a temporary generative AI placeholder.
