Cyber Pet'Scape : Call of Freedom

As a small development studio, we had to use AI to generate translations for the game and the Steam page in order to make the game accessible to the widest possible audience. The graphic and audio assets were created either by us or by the team at Craftpix.net (who, it seems, do not use AI).

Some background elements were partially generated using AI. Localization into languages other than German was carried out with the help of AI. AI was used as a development aid (to help implement certain systems in the game). I am a solo indie developer and wanted to tell an engaging horror story set in an anime/Japanese-inspired world. Without AI, I unfortunately would never have been able to create a project like this!

artaudiotextcode
In accordance with digital platform transparency guidelines, it is hereby disclosed that advanced generative computational models and machine-learning frameworks have been selectively integrated into the multifaceted production pipeline of this interactive software application. Specifically, algorithmic synthesis was deployed during the asset procurement phase to facilitate the generation of various graphic user interface (GUI) elements, incorporating specific iconography, non-diegetic symbols, and visual indicators. Furthermore, the auditory landscape features synthesized sound effects derived through prompt-based neural network modulations. Regarding the structural architecture, the underlying source code was developed utilizing automated algorithmic assistance tools for debugging, syntax optimization, and routine logical construction, while the three-dimensional environment comprises assets where generative workflows intermittently assisted in the final topology refinement, polygonal optimization, and the algorithmic projection of procedural and raster-based texturing layers for a non-exhaustive subset of 3D assets. Lastly, contextual textual localization, narrative phrasing, superficial UI layout configurations, and various minor supplementary asset adjustments were subject to iterative large language model oversight and machine-assisted content generation.

Galactum Meridian
In-game content
arttextcode
Galactum Meridian was developed with extensive assistance from generative AI tools, under constant and direct human creative direction, review, editing, and implementation. AI tools were used during development to assist with code, interface iteration, documentation, design exploration, writing drafts, data-processing workflows, and production planning. Some visual materials, including selected artwork, UI-support imagery, concept references, store-page assets, marketing materials, and Steam community assets, may also be AI-assisted or AI-generated and then heavily curated, edited, integrated, or rejected by the developer. The game uses real astronomical catalog data and authored game systems; generative AI is not used to replace scientific provenance. Observed, inferred, and fictional content are handled as separate categories during development. Galactum Meridian does not use live generative AI during gameplay. AI has been used primarily as a production and content-development tool, with final decisions, editing, implementation, and presentation controlled by the human developer.

We use generative AI as part of our development workflow to accelerate our production pipeline. Our artists use generative AI to quickly produce concept artwork. They then manually rework the selected pieces in Photoshop and other tools as needed, refining the work and adding or removing elements to reach the quality we require. Our Art Director gives final approval on all artwork. All AI-assisted content is generated during development and reworked by our team before it ships; no content is generated by AI at runtime. We have taken care to ensure this content does not include illegal or infringing material.

New Science
Live AI
arttext
New Science uses generative AI as a core part of the game experience. When you combine two cards to discover a new one, an AI model determines what that combination produces. Each discovered card is illustrated with a unique AI-generated image. This AI-powered system is what makes the game's open-ended discovery possible. Combinations are not limited to a fixed recipe list, so the game can surprise you in ways a traditionally authored game could not. We are proud of how we use AI here and consider it central to what makes New Science special.

During the development of this game, generative AI tools were used as a supportive resource for technical and creative tasks. Specifically, AI was utilized to assist in structuring complex C# scripts and providing visual reference images for world-building and character design. This allowed me as a solo developer to streamline my technical workflow and focus more on the core gameplay, environmental puzzles, and the unique atmospheric feel of the project. Every piece of AI-assisted logic or visual concept has been manually reviewed, adapted, and implemented by me to ensure it fits perfectly within the game's overall design.
