Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI was used to create portions of music, icon art, and some textures.
The artwork in this game — the title screen, the application icon, the difficulty-selection backgrounds, the plate textures behind buttons and panels, and the store art — and background music tracks were created with generative AI tools, then selected and adjusted by the developer. The puzzle boards, pieces and target patterns are drawn procedurally, the sound effects are synthesized at runtime, and every puzzle is produced by a deterministic solver. No content is generated live during gameplay.
Cover art, store page imagery and music were created with AI generation tools. All game design, writing and gameplay systems were created by the developer.
During development, generative AI was used to create initial drafts for some in-game 2D icons, which were then manually retouched. Generative AI was also used to remix original melodies composed and whistled by the developer into background music.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with some programming tasks, multilingual translations of in-game text, and the creation of certain graphics and sounds. All AI-assisted output was reviewed and edited by the developer. No AI content is generated in real time during gameplay.
Generative AI was used as an assistant throughout development, and the developer reviewed and approved everything before it shipped. It helped draft part of the in-game text, some of the marketing copy, and the scripts that generate the artwork and the audio. No image or audio file came out of a generative model: every sprite, glyph, sound effect and music track is drawn or synthesised by deterministic code, and the same script always produces the same pixels and the same samples. The game does not generate any content with AI while you play.
Generative artificial intelligence was used during development mainly to assist with localization and code, with some 2D/3D assets, and selected audio assets. All AI-assisted content was manually reviewed, edited, and refined by the developer before use.
I use generative AI as a tool during development: • Some 3D models (characters, creatures and props) were created with AI generation tools, then edited, rigged and animated by hand for use in the game. • Some sound effects were generated with AI audio tools, then edited and mixed by hand. • Some store page and marketing artwork was created with AI image generation. Everything produced this way is reviewed and reworked by me before it ships. The game generates no content while you play and connects to no AI service at runtime.
Generative AI tools were used to help create some in-game visual and audio assets.
Generative AI was used only for a small set of supporting assets — some interface icons, a few decorative visuals and some sound effects. It is not used while the game is running, and no part of the gameplay or the paintings depends on it.
As a solo developer, I used generative AI tools during the development process to assist with creating game assets (such as character artwork and item graphics), composing background music, and generating or refining code snippets. All AI-assisted content was pre-generated prior to release and manually curated. No AI content is generated live during gameplay.
This game uses generative AI tools for parts of its 3D model creation and music/sound effect production. Core elements of the game experience — including the scenario, game design, AI logic design and implementation, and part balance adjustments — are created and decided primarily by the developer himself. In keeping with the game's own concept of "designing AI logic to fight," the development process itself also actively incorporates collaboration with AI. This game was completed by using dialogue with AI to work around the limitations of a one-person team.
Some pre-made content was created with the help of generative AI and curated by the developer: promotional/splash artwork and some item icons, several source 3D meshes, background music tracks, and portions of in-game flavor text. The game does not generate any content at runtime.
The background music was generated using AI, but it is intended to be replaced with human-made music once suitable tracks are found.
Artwork was created with the help of ai. Music and sound was created with the help of ai.
Iron Command uses generative AI for part of its content: • 3D models and their textures were generated with AI. Every model was then cleaned up, scaled, oriented and assembled into the game by hand. • The key art used on the title screen and for the store images was generated with an image model and edited afterwards. • The spoken mission briefings and unit voice lines are produced with a text-to-speech system from scripts written by the developer. Game design, programming, level design, balancing and all written text are the developer's own work, created without generative AI.
The AI Programs Are Used Only For Voice Acting Purposes.
Generative AI technologies were used during certain stages of development to assist in creating select art, audio, text, or design assets. All final content has been reviewed, refined, and integrated by our team to ensure overall experience and product quality.
Some of the content in this game was created with generative AI tools. · The five background music tracks were generated with an AI music tool, then edited and looped to fit the game. · 2D sprites (props, enemies, bosses, UI) started as generative AI image drafts and went through background removal, resizing and color correction before shipping. · Interface translations — the source language is Korean; the other languages were machine-translated with AI and only some have had a human pass. If you spot an awkward line, tell us and we will fix it. Sound effects are not AI-generated. They are synthesized in real time by the game's code. No AI runs while you play. Every piece of content ships as a fixed file — the game does not generate anything during play and does not contact any AI service.
This game uses generative AI for all types of illustration assets, programming, audio assets, Steam Community assets, and marketing materials.
In game soundtracks were generated in Suno. AI assisted with drafting assests in Blender.
Portions of the localization, textures, and sound effects in this product were created with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI).
Terran Dawn is a solo-developed game, and generative AI tools were used during its production. Everything AI-assisted is created ahead of time and shipped as fixed files inside the build: the game generates nothing while you play, contacts no AI service at runtime, and sends no player data anywhere. Where these tools were used: - 3D assets: ship, station and building meshes were produced with AI text-to-3D generation, then rescaled, re-oriented, re-textured and hand-corrected to fit the engine. - 2D art and textures: interface illustrations, encyclopedia art and some surface textures were generated from hand-written prompts and edited afterwards. - Sound effects: a portion of the weapon, interface and explosion sounds were generated with AI audio tools, then trimmed and mixed by hand. - Music: the soundtrack was created with AI music generation. - Voice-over: mission briefings and in-mission radio lines are AI text-to-speech, performed from scripts written by the developer. - Video transmissions: the in-game character broadcasts use a licensed synthetic presenter and synthetic voice to deliver dialogue written by the developer. - Translation: the game's text was translated into its supported languages with the help of an AI language model. - Some of the game's source code was written with AI coding assistants. The game's design, story, missions, rules and balance are written by the developer. No generative AI runs while the game is playing.
Some pre-rendered assets in this game and its store presence were created with the assistance of generative AI tools: portions of the 2D artwork (such as backdrop and ramp textures, marketing and capsule images) and some sound effects. All AI-assisted assets were reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer before inclusion. The game's design, code, gameplay systems, writing, and balance are entirely human-made. No content is generated by AI at runtime.
The in-game music and portions of the marketing materials (such as promotional images and text) were generated or assisted using AI. All AI-generated content was reviewed and curated by the developer.
The voice acting was mostly generated. Some minor graphics were generated when needed.
Some graphical assets and sounds.
We use AI to generate plants reference and some of the sound effects, then we polish and animate them in Photoshop and Spine to get formal assets
Some game assets were created with AI assistance under paid commercial licenses: background art and the title logo (image generation), BGM (Suno), and sound effects (ElevenLabs). All AI-generated assets are recorded in an internal license ledger, were generated on paid plans permitting commercial use, and were reviewed by the developer before inclusion. The core mechanic uses AI at runtime: the player draws a creature and enters a name for it, and both the drawing and the player-supplied name are sent to a vision AI model, which evaluates them and produces the creature's element, size, stats, move names and descriptions, catchphrase, and flavor text. The creature always carries the name the player typed: the model returns a suggested name, but the server discards it whenever the player supplied one, and falls back to the model's name only when the player leaves the field blank. Guardrails: (1) every submission passes a server-side moderation gate before any sharing — CSAM is absolutely blocked with evidence preservation and reporting, and clearly NSFW content is auto-rejected; (2) all player-visible text generated by AI is length-clamped and moderated (names, catchphrases, flavor text, move names); (3) shared content (ghost teams) is moderated again server-side, is opt-in, expires automatically (TTL), and there is no public gallery; (4) a player report channel (notice-and-takedown) is provided in-game and on the official site; (5) battle results are computed deterministically by game rules, not by AI.
Generative AI was used to create some of the image and sound assets used in the game. These include character illustrations, card artwork, design elements, and some sound assets. All AI-generated content was reviewed and edited as necessary by the developer before being included in the game. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services.
Art, textures, and sounds use both human work and AI generation.
YOU IN? uses pre-generated instrumental music created with Suno for its title, stage, and boss tracks. Generative AI is also used to create promotional artwork for the Steam store page, including capsule artwork, and to assist with portions of the store-page and marketing text. All AI-assisted material is directed, selected, reviewed, and edited by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
a note on AI: this game is one bloke working very closely with AI tools. the store art and achievement icons are AI-generated images. the code, the procedural music, and the scripts that build the 3D models were written in hands-on AI-assisted sessions. everything is hand-curated - every asset, mechanic and line got reviewed, redone or binned by the developer, usually several times. the robot is never left to its own devices. nothing is generated by AI while you play.
Some textures and audio assets within this game are AI‑generated.
I used an AI tool to generate the game's music.
Commentary was generated via ElevenLabs scripts.
Most of the video materials, audio materials and some music for this game are generated by AI software.
No AI was used to create the artwork, animation, or sound effects. All of it is made by human hands. The game's English text is almost completely written by my hand. The other supported languages are partially AI-translated from my English source. Native-speaker review is ongoing, and corrected translations ship in updates. The soundtrack is original music that I've written over the last 30 years. I used AI to produce the final compositions.
CardCrafter uses generative AI to create some of the content shipped with the game: • Art: card illustrations, character and enemy portraits, icons, currencies and background scenes are created primarily with generative image models, then curated, post-processed and integrated by human. • Audio: some sound effects and background music are created with generative AI tools. • Text & localization: In-game text such as card descriptions is drafted with AI assistance and edited by hand; the Simplified Chinese and English localizations are machine-translated first, then human-proofread. All of this content is pre-generated during development and baked into the game. The game does not generate any AI content at runtime, and never sends player input to an AI. Everything produced with AI is reviewed and selected by human before inclusion.
AI was used to create references and/or original textures and sounds.
OVERRIDE ships some assets that were created with generative AI tools during development and are included pre-rendered in the game: part of the 2D artwork (store and library capsules, background images, and stylized fictional character portraits) and parts of the music/soundtrack. All game design, simulation, code, and in-game text are authored by the developer. The game does not generate any content live during play and does not connect to any external AI service.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating some UI elements and sound effects. All AI-generated assets were reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the game.
The game uses a wide variety of artificial intelligence products in the art creation process. Ranging from 3d model generation to 2D art, music and sound effects.
The character voices in this game were generated using artificial intelligence (AI). No character visuals, animations, or other game assets were generated using AI.
We used coding assistance as well as music generation
All voices are Ai generated along with the soundtracks. They are however created under strict instructions and hours of testing to get them right. Ai assisted in creating models/props.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with pre-generated content. No generative AI content is created during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
Some sound effects and some BGM were generated with AI.
Generative AI tools were used during the creation of some soundtracks for the game. All AI-generated audio assets have been carefully selected, reviewed, and edited to align with the game's atmosphere and aesthetic.
This product uses generative AI extensively during development. Pre-generated AI-assisted content includes images, story text, code, music, and other game materials. All such content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer before inclusion in the game and store materials. No live-generated AI content is used during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services while running.
