Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This work uses CG and background illustrations partially created by image generation AI.
The AI is used for both the main library image and the client icon.
使用AI绘制了人物立绘等
A few background images were rendered using AI and manipulated thereafter to include drawn figures and tileset details.
I used a paid subscription of midjourney for the images of the backgrounds and the characters. Nothing is generated in real time. And the code was made all by hand. I also used some pictures for the game page.

AI is used to help create character images, translations, music, and voices.
Our design team used generative AI to create preliminary concept images to effectively communicate ideas with our art team. However, all of the final game artwork was crafted by our human artists without the use of AI
AI-generated art was used in the creation process for some of the backgrounds, icons, sprites, and characters.
This game utilizes the GPT interface provided by OpenAI to generate text. Specifically, in the text adventure, it generates game objectives, story backgrounds, and character information. In the journey mode, it generates game events, interactive items, all real-time dialogue content, and descriptions for generated images. The pre-rendered image resources are generated using stable diffusion and DALL·E.
Painted with Stable diffusion, generated an image of the hero and some background images
Some of the beauty shots of our heroes have been enhanced using AI. Also, some of the UI and cutscene elements have been created using AI.
some pictures and charaters are made by AI.
Some in-game text was initially generated using AI translation tools and later manually reviewed and edited. Additionally, a portion of the plugin code was developed using AI-assisted coding tools. A small number of background music tracks are AI-generated royalty-free assets provided by S_Sleep and are used with permission. No live AI content generation occurs during gameplay.
Erannorth Renaissance is a solo development effort that uses licensed stock for artwork, sound effects, and music from various artists. Some assets, such as portraits and event covers, were created using generative AI technologies or AI-based tools. -- Every story thread in the game comes from my own twisted imagination. No AI played any part in creating it. However, to make sure every line reads as intended and is grammatically correct, it’s been reviewed and, when needed, refined with help from AI-powered grammar tools.
A limited number of talent icons have been created using AI generation.
When Born In Reverie is released in full, around 5% of the code base will be AI generated snippets. All illustrations, UI elements, soundtracks, dialogue, sprite designs, etc. will be human-created. -AI image generation was used for ideation on a small number of designs. What this actually means in practice is that AI images were created, modified, and then sent to real artists to serve as reference material in their work. The final illustrations and designs, were created by artists. -To improve productivity, the development of Born in Reverie utilized AI tools for coding/programming support, and AI scaling algorithms to up/down sample a small number of human-created assets. Born in Reverie DOES NOT live produce anything in-game via AI generation. -As an indie developer, I am unable to supervise the work of all the freelancers I work with and cannot guarantee their work is entirely AI free. If anyone I work with is found to produce content with significant AI usage, I will be removing their content and credits from the game and replacing their content with proper human artistry. Above all else, Born in Reverie values human artistry and seeks to create something genuine and authentic for players to experience.
Some components of external promotional art - not inside the game.
Some TV images (interaction optional) for comedic effect
Apostle Games uses purchased & licensed AI assisted artwork for its in-game character portraits, occasional in-game environment backgrounds, and marketing materials on its Steam page. All AI assisted artwork has been repainted by a human artist to work seamlessly within the game world, using the AI assisted artwork as a base only.
Some in-game content, such as simulated chat spam and cutscene art in WISH (as befits the narrative) was created with the assistance of AI powered tools.
Nothorian is an original work developed by our creative team. Some artwork and promotional text were assisted by AI tools (GPT) during development. No AI content is generated during gameplay, and all content has been carefully reviewed and adapted by humans. We use it as a support tool for some things (as almost everyone does these days), but our team designed the story and the entire game and oversaw everything. There is no crazy or dangerous real-time generation.
The main uses of AI in the creation of this game were for minor coding problems, such as what sorting algorithm to use and detecting bugs occasionally. The second main use was the art. The majority of art in the game is ai generated, but there are no influences on the generation based off of real images. All generated images are random and pre-generated. Keep in mind none of the names in the game are ai generated.
This game contains pre-generated AI content and no real-time generated AI content. Relevant information is as follows: Tools used: Midjourney (art), GPT (text); Application scope: Only used for the auxiliary creation of game art assets, story texts, and UI assets. All AI-generated content is used as initial drafts; Manual review: All AI-generated content has been revised, polished, screened, and copyright-verified by a professional team to ensure originality and compliance; Compliance guarantee: Copyright verification of AI-generated content has been completed, with no infringement risks, in compliance with Steam content guidelines and relevant laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; Content control: No real-time AI generation function. All in-game displayed content is the final version that has been pre-generated and manually reviewed, without the uncertainty of dynamically generated content.
Game uses pre-rendered AI generated images for 2D Art.
I Had A Plan! uses human-made sprites and assets, but uses AI to transform voices for most (non narrator/GM) characters. These were still recorded by the developer, but then transformed to sound like other people using AI. AI was also used to lip sync those voices.
AI has been used to generate some icons and backgrounds.

To enhance the production process and ensure the highest quality of content, our game incorporates images created with the assistance of artificial intelligence. Additionally, we have utilized AI in the editing process of our extensive in-game texts, ensuring linguistic accuracy and the elimination of errors.
We generate Artwork with AI
AI used for current page artwork ONLY. None is used in game.
Some cutscenes and the game title are AI-generated images.
Some cutscenes and the game title are AI-generated images.
The game uses a mix of hand drawn and AI generated art, most of this then heavily edited by hand.
Prototypes for pregenerated content were used in one of the announcements.
AI was part of the workflow for creating images of characters and locations.
Some character portraits and loading screens have been made using generative AI.
the player can get ideas for the RPG story using AI text completion
Some AI generated 2d art (in events and menu)
All character voice acting is AI-generated, but just a few characters have voice acting. It is not an important feature of this game, since it focuses on combat. Voice acting can be disabled in the game options. Ideally, all AI voice acting should be replaced by human voice acting in the final version of the game, but this is yet to be decided.
AI generates rich, diverse scenarios with maps tailored for both Game Masters and players, ensuring no two campaigns are the same. Dive into worlds crafted with precision—where AI-designed maps, NPCs, enemies, traps, and rooms come together to create a seamless and immersive experience. From preparation to play, our AI handles all the details, allowing you to focus on what truly matters—your adventure. Embark on a journey where your imagination sets the boundaries, powered by AI that prepares everything you need for an unforgettable campaign.
This game heavily uses AI to live-generate in-game content such as text, images, and sound effects. It also uses AI to make a variety of game mechanics decisions in real time.
Dynamic Aging: Unit portraits realistically age over time. Each character is initially AI-generated and then hand-finished by our artist.
Some dialogue backgrounds and icons use AI generation.
I used AI tools during development to help with code optimization, solve problems like pathfinding and mathematical formulas, and assist with English translation and proofreading.
I added scenes and images improved with Generative Artificial Intelligence. They are locally generated using Stable diffusion, without resorting to paying any generative AI company. Although paying them could have given me better tools and results, I decided not to pay for their use to support the claim of artists for fair royalties. (It is not possible to discuss such a complex issue here, but I will consider opening a discussion on the topic in the game forum, follow my game to be notified if it is created) Most of the artistic content in the game, mainly music, is compensated in various ways depending on the case to its artists. My original content is registered, but the images generated by AI are essentially treated as 'creative commons' and I consider them fanarts of my characters. All added scenes and backgrounds are of high quality and maintain good coherence, avoiding deformities in hands, eyes, etc., and without annoying or confusing shapes. All AI-generated images are generated, selected, and edited exclusively by me, the creator of the game, to reflect my original vision, previously inaccessible due to high costs. I have sought to include only select content that enriches the narrative and immersion of the game.
Generative AI is used for the English audio narration, loading screens and a small percentage of skill icons.
Quick note: The capsule art is AI-generated as a temporary placeholder, but I’m already working with an artist to replace and upgrade it with final artwork.
