Public Steam disclosure research 25,877 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
For Coding Purposes with Electron
The images of the animals on the cards are created with the help of generative AI. The other art in the game is created by hand.
Used for generating images such as character sprites, backgrounds, and logos. Also used for text translation (which might be terrible).
Character portraits and evidence images were created with OpenAI's image generation; some diagrams were authored as SVG with OpenAI Codex. These assets were reviewed before release (originality and likeness pass). Sound effects and the ambient music bed are produced by a deterministic synthesis program (oscillators, filtered noise, and math-based DSP), not by a generative-AI audio model, and from no sampled or library audio; the synthesis script itself was written with AI coding assistance (AI-assisted code, not AI-generated audio). Fonts, engine, and runtime are non-AI third-party components under their own licenses.
Some placeholder artwork and images currently use generative AI or AI-assisted enhancement. These assets may be replaced or revised during development.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with portions of the game’s code. All AI-assisted code was reviewed, edited, and tested by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services.
Some of the graphical assets in this game were created using generative AI tools. This includes certain 3D models (characters and props), textures, background illustrations, and UI images; some of the key art on this store page was created the same way. All AI-generated assets were curated, edited, and placed by the developer, and no AI content is generated in real time during gameplay.
Some in-game text, store page copy, and 2D marketing assets were created with the assistance of AI tools. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and curated by the developer. The game does not generate any content using AI during gameplay.
Generative AI assisted coding used in-engine
AI tools were used to assist development, including code, Chinese/Spanish localization text and store page copy. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and curated by the developer. The game does not generate any content with AI at runtime.
AI-assisted art tooling used for promotional graphics only.
部分UI、配音、音乐使用AI生成
This game is built by a two-member team: a human developer and an AI assistant working under his direction. Large parts of the game code and many pre-rendered assets (enemy creatures, towers, environment props, marketing artwork) were created with the assistance of generative AI — always based on human design decisions, and reviewed, tested and curated by the developer. The game does not generate any content at runtime using AI.
The game uses AI generated icons.
Some UI elements and sound files indirectly contain AI generated content
Some art assets (sprites, icons, illustrations) and audio (sound effects, music, voices) were created using generative AI tools. All AI-generated content is pre-rendered and hand-integrated into the game — nothing is generated live during play. Each asset is reviewed and curated before inclusion, and we hold commercial-use rights for the tools involved.
We used AI to generate images, as we don't have an artist on our team. The gameplay, design, and atmosphere are all human-created.
This game uses generative AI tools to create some of its artwork: promotional art such as the key visual and store capsule images, and some in-game image assets such as character portraits and map textures. All of it was reviewed, curated, and adjusted by the developer before use. Every screenshot shown on the store page is captured from actual gameplay and is not AI-generated. The shipped game does not use any AI to generate images, text, or audio at runtime.
AI was used strictly to block out a few initial base meshes, which I then manually reworked to fit the game's style & performance. No AI runs at runtime.
Some visual and audio assets in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools, then selected, edited, and integrated by the developer.
Some of this game's code was written with the assistance of AI development tools. All art, music, audio, and text that ship in the game are human-created (from licensed asset packs) or procedurally rendered — no AI-generated art, audio, or text is included in the game.
The development of Memento made use of generative AI tools across several stages of production. Cutscenes are created using AI-based video generation tools. Graphic elements such as environments, characters, and card illustrations were created or refined with the help of generative AI tools. Parts of the soundtrack and text were also produced with AI assistance. All content was manually selected, edited, and integrated by the developer.
Gameplay, visuals, and code were built by hand. Only the bundled soundtrack used AI-assisted music tools, all of which I reviewed. Soundway is made for your own music — the built-in tracks just get you started.
In the development process of this game, we utilized pre-generated AI tools as follows: * 2D Assets (Backgrounds, Photos, Various Images): After generating base images using AI, we manually added, modified, and processed them before implementing them in the game. * 3D Assets: AI generation was used for some 3D models, and the output models were then manually adjusted and processed before use. * Audio: Generation AI tools (text-to-speech and speech synthesis) were used for some sound effects (SE) and character voices. Please note that we did not use any live-generated AI systems that generate content in real time during game execution.
The game's programming uses AI to generate code.
Artificial intelligence was used to create the graphical assets for this game: capsules, logos, etc.
Generative AI was used during the development of this game. Specifically, AI tools were utilized to assist in the creation and optimization of [some art assets / text localization / narrative polish]. All AI-generated content has been thoroughly reviewed and manually refined by the development team to ensure quality.
Note: Most of the translations and music in this game were created with the assistance of AI.
Music tracks used in the game were created using generative AI tools.
Some in-game radio/music tracks may be created with generative AI tools. These tracks are selected, reviewed and integrated manually by the development team. No live AI generation is used during gameplay.
Some pre-generated artwork and sound assets used in the game and its marketing materials were created or edited with the assistance of generative AI tools. All such content was manually selected, reviewed, and edited as needed by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
AI tools were used during development to assist in creating portions of the game's code, text, and 2D artwork, including some store page assets. All AI-assisted content was generated during development and reviewed by the developer. The game does not use AI to generate any content at runtime.
AI was used for some scripts
Some background/environment imagery used in store-page screenshots and trailer footage was created with generative AI image tools and reviewed by us. All in-game content — the creature's artwork and animation (drawn procedurally in code) and all music — is hand-authored and not AI-generated.
Generative AI was used in some of the 3D models.
This game uses generative AI only for in-game character dialogue. Players can communicate with certain characters using natural language, and the AI generates text responses based on the game's setting and the current conversation context. Apart from character dialogue text, the game's artwork, music, sound effects, code, store page assets, and marketing materials are not generated by AI.
We've harnessed the power of Generative AI technology to create several of our game's unique theme background artworks, enhancing your gaming experience with visually stunning designs.
This game uses generative AI as a starting point for visual art and music. We then edited many of the assets by hand.
The game features hundreds of unique collectible cards. As a solo developer, creating every card from scratch would be extremely time-consuming, so the majority of the collectible card artwork was generated using AI. This allows more time to be spent improving the game’s core feel and other key systems. The cards will continue to be revised throughout development.
Made with the help of AI.
Some illustrations used in the game's introductory sequence were created with the assistance of generative AI. All such assets were reviewed, refined where necessary, and integrated by the developer before being included in the game.
Algunos recursos gráficos estáticos de Media Basket Manager,
Visual assets in Blackbriar Crypt were created with generative AI tools (Stable Diffusion via ComfyUI), including in-game 2D art such as item icons, character portraits, enemy sprites, and UI backgrounds, as well as store and library marketing images. Each asset was selected, edited, and approved by the developer before release.
The game's graphics and software are powered by artificial intelligence.
Crooked Derby includes some pre-generated visual assets created with generative AI. All AI-assisted content was iterated on, reviewed, and approved by the developer before being included in the game.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating certain store assets. Additionally, some in-game enemy artwork was generated from developer-created mockups.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with text translation and localization. All final materials undergo manual review and editing.
Some of this game's visual assets (such as background art, city and airport imagery, and icons) and background music tracks were created with the help of generative AI tools,
Some marketing artwork on this Steam store page was created with OpenAI image generation using current in-game screenshots and existing brand artwork as references. The game itself does not generate AI content during play.
Localization of the textual content for non-english languages is mainly produced as translations from english using generative artificial intelligence. LLM's have been used as a help also in writing and reviewing of program code, development helper tools, infrastructure setup, security checks, test maintenance and requirements management.
