Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Art assets such as certain icons, the lobby, loading screens, and in-game portraits contains artwork created with the help of generative AI. These assets have been carefully edited and reviewed to ensure they align with the game's visual style and quality.
Operation: Strike & Secure uses generative artificial intelligence to create certain visual elements, including the background image of its main menu. This image was generated using an AI tool to bring a unique and immersive aesthetic to the game interface. However, no AI is used to generate real-time content during gameplay, and all other visual and mechanical elements were created and verified by the development team. The AI-generated image meets copyright requirements and has been carefully checked to ensure it fits the theme and atmosphere of the game.
Our team utilizes various AI tools and techniques in our development pipeline to create minor 2D visual elements and some event-based cinematic content. These methods help us prototype certain non-core assets during our creative process.
Visual assets for the Store Page and Steam Library (including header images, background art, and the base design of the game logo) were created with the assistance of Generative AI.
Pre-generated Content: The marketing and branding materials were conceptualized using AI tools, followed by extensive manual editing, polishing, and compositing to ensure alignment with the game's minimalist aesthetic.
Live-generated Content: The game does not feature any live-generated AI content during gameplay.
Some pre-rendered cover and background art in this game were created using AI-assisted tools to enhance the visual experience. All assets are carefully reviewed and edited to maintain artistic quality and integrity.
For translations, we are using an online service which utilizes machine learning techniques to enhance translations. These translations are used on the store page for languages other than English and within the game's UI. All such content is text.
We do NOT use AI generated content in any other aspect of game production.
AI generated content is used for voice audio, generation of concept art for inspiration, and GitHub Copilot AI assistant is used to aid with gameplay coding.
I enjoy crafting dozens of background images in the game, from personal travel photos of varied scenery,
drawings, and patiently process and mash them using AI and non AI tools. The art for the board games themselves (pawns, tiles) is abstract and simply done with gimp (traditional 2D image editor)
I have incorporated artificial intelligence elements into the promotional images of the store, which can make the store look more like what I hope and quickly visualize my ideas
This game uses AI for generation of temporary assets (like icons) that can be seen in early screenshots or trailers but will be removed before the game is released
We use procedural and AI-assisted tools to support content creation. However, all final in-game content is shaped and reviewed by our development team reflecting our own creativity and expression.
We have used AI assistance to increase our language support, which might result in some localization errors, but we believe it's better than having none at all.
Initial concept art was generated using AI tools, followed by manual adjustments and modifications by artists. The final artwork combines AI-generated base designs with human-made artistic revisions.
Much of Fire Isle uses Adobe Firefly generated art as a base for the UI buttons. I've further edited/photoshopped all of this art personally to better suit the game's art style and make it my own. As a broke solo dev without much of a 2D art background and no funding to hire anyone, I chose to go this route rather than to not see Fire Isle made at all.
Despite the reasoning behind it, I understand many might not be comfortable with AI generated content. I hope the game itself reflects the thousands upon thousands of hours of time & effort I've put into it's creation with the goal of making a fun and memorable experience, NOT AI Slop🙏...
Xeno Rangers uses AI to help generate interface image details as well as community / promotional material. The AI uses our own 3D models as reference to generate from and uses realistic photographic styling as to not infringe on any works.
There is some use of AI art on the Store page. There is a photograph in the introduction of the game that was created by AI. Once at the main menu, no more AI art or tools are used in the game experience.
This game currently uses some stand-in images created via generative AI. This includes some background screens, fluff images, and pilot portraits.
All other gameplay visuals are manually crafted.
