Public Steam disclosure research 25,383 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Use AI to generate character sprites, background images, and UI assets
Auction House features artwork developed with generative AI.
Generative AI used in creating UI, items and other sprites. We aim to gradually replace all AI generated content as we post new updates.
The in-game graphics are generated by generative AI.
The English localization of this game was developed with the assistance of AI translation tools.
AI Music: The BGM was sampled by AI using human-composed reference tracks and was ultimately refined by a sound designer.
Generative AI was used during development as a supportive tool for creating some artwork and assisting with coding.
Some visual, audio, and text elements were created using generative AI tools and were later edited and refined by the developer.
The game has been PROUDLY maded using AI tools
This project incorporates AI-assisted coding and text translation.
Claude code = Lots of code. Within the game client/server sure, but particularly within our game creation pipeline. It has enabled our artists/unity devs to create their own scripts/tools with blender/unity to streamline our content creation process. Also, CC used for creating python scripts used for MIDI music composition. Flux Dev image gen = spell icons. It did not write this message though :)
AI was used to assist in creating the animation of the open sea, the title screen, and the environment images in the Items tab of the pause menu.
A part of the in-game sprites and item art in this game were generated using AI. As a solo developer, generative AI tools allow me to create a breadth of visual content that would otherwise not have been possible. All assets were carefully selected, curated, and integrated to ensure they align with the game's vision and quality.
This game uses AI-generated content for localization. All in-game text translations are produced with the assistance of generative AI.
Using AI tools to generate translated text and image textures.
All visual assets (sprites, terrain, UI, capsule art) were AI-generated and then manually edited in GIMP. Game design, direction, and integration were done entirely by the solo developer.
English (recommended wording) We used generative AI in a limited way during the development of this app and its store presence. Store / community assets (store page presentation): We used generative AI tools to create or edit some promotional graphics used on the store page (e.g., capsule images, key art, banners). All final assets were reviewed and edited by the developer before publishing. Audio (background music): Some in-game background music (BGM) was created with the assistance of generative-AI-based tools. The final audio was reviewed and edited (and where applicable mixed/mastered) by the developer before being included in the game. Gameplay / features: The game does not include features that generate content for players in real time (e.g., AI chat or player-prompted content generation). The use of AI is limited to asset creation support during development.
The steam shop page features some language translations that were generated with the help of DeepL. The game itself does not use any AI generated translations or any other AI generated assets or code.
AI was used to create 3D models of game units
This app includes pre-generated content created or assisted using generative AI. This includes the game logo, title screen, certain story-related images used during key moments of the game, a majority of item-related visuals (such as weapons, armors, accessories, and quest items), and approximately 60% of character portraits used in dialogue. All such content was selected, reviewed, and in many cases manually edited and integrated by the developer before being included in the game or on the store page. Additionally, most of the game's plugins were developed with the assistance of AI tools. No AI is used at runtime or during gameplay.
AI was used to generate art pieces for the Steam Store Page as placeholder. As the developing continues and feedback from the community comes, those placeholders will be changed to real art done by real persons.
Some assets in Colonus were created with generative AI assistance and refined by hand.
AI-generated voices were used for some in-game dialogue, based on scripts written by the developer.
All image resources in the game were created using AI.
We use AI for localization for the store page.
Generative AI was used during the development process to enhance and diversify the variety of card assets and narrative content. This technology allowed for the creation of a more expansive and unique library of scenarios, ensuring a richer and more varied gameplay experience for the player.
Some sprites have been created with the use of image generation models
Generative AI was used during development only for early ideation and reference purposes. All final in-game assets, visuals, audio, writing, and gameplay content were created manually and are not AI-generated. The game does not use any live-generated AI content.
This game uses AI-generated images for character portraits, standing illustrations, and some backgrounds. All generated assets have been revised and refined, and do not infringe on any existing copyrights or rights.
Generative AI was used for localization.
Graphics (Title Screen): AI was used to generate the base image for the title screen. This output was then manually edited, adjusted for layout, and refined to create the final visual. Localization (Translation): AI was used as an assistant in the translation process. Following the initial AI-generated draft, all text has been manually reviewed and edited to ensure contextual accuracy and quality.
I used AI for game assets I could not get from artists [All sprites units are from real artists : Lyaseek and Dreamir]AI assisted code.
Some 3D models were created using AI generation tools.
I used AI assistance to create some of the promotional materials used outside the game.
Generative AI was used on a local machine to create initial art, which was then altered by human artists.
This game has used Generative AI during the development process. It was used minimally during coding, mostly for auto complete, <1% of the code is a result of the output from AI. More extensively is AIs use in the artwork, in order to speed up the process sketches were created by artist, details were filled in by AI, then artists corrected the output.
AI tools were used during development as a programming aid and for early concept exploration. All gameplay systems were developed by the creator, and all in-game assets are original, commissioned, or licensed.
AI tools were used to assist with localization and drafting store page descriptions.
Initial concept art was generated using AI tools, followed by manual adjustments and modifications by artists.
This product uses pre-generated AI-assisted content during development. AI tools were used to help create some promotional artwork, selected visual assets, and some development-support content such as text or localization assistance. The game does not use live-generated AI during gameplay.
Some static background images and card textures.
I was working on this game for more than 2 years without ai. I started to use ai 1-2 months ago for: Due to a lack of capital for professional sounds i bought sound packages and for some few sounds i used AI software. Depending on the game's success, I will invest in replacing sounds and self-created elements with professional assistance. AI was used mainly for bug fixing in the code and for translating the game text into different languages.
This game includes some AI-generated content: character illustrations.
Most of the game's graphics assets were created using pose sketches (ControlNet) and then adjusted in the graphics editor to maintain consistency. The game does not use any real-time AI-generated content.
During the development process, we may use AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Some minor visual assets, such as icons and UI elements, were created or assisted using licensed AI tools during development. All AI-assisted content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the overall art direction and quality standards. AI is not used in gameplay systems, code, or real-time content generation.
This game uses generative AI for some NPC images and background music. These assets are reviewed and adjusted by the developer before being implemented in the game.
as a first no budget game from a solo dev this game includes ai generated images of mythological and made up divine places in paintings and of ghosts appearing around the game
I'm a solo developer so I have used AI to help fill in some gaps. Music and very minor pieces of art were created using AI. However I have supported many artists during the making of this game by purchasing asset packs that worked. I've been in the game industry for over a decade and am extremely sensitive to the use of AI but this project wouldn't exist without it and I am very proud of what I have made. My heart, soul, and countless hours have been poured into the project and AI was only used if there was no other reasonable/affordable choice.
Some illustrations used in the Arcade Mode (beta version) were created using a hybrid workflow that combines hand-drawn artwork and generative AI-assisted editing. The developer first creates original pencil sketches by hand, then digitizes and edits them on PC. Generative AI is used only to assist with draft refinement and background adjustments, followed by additional manual editing in image software. It has not yet been decided whether these illustrations will be replaced with fully hand-crafted versions during or after Early Access development.
