Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
All voices are Ai generated along with the soundtracks. They are however created under strict instructions and hours of testing to get them right. Ai assisted in creating models/props.
Some of Lanternfall's visual assets were produced with the help of AI tools. Concept art, 3D character and prop models, and character rigging and animation were generated with AI and then edited, corrected, lit, rendered and integrated by hand by the developer. Level backgrounds are hand-composed 3D scenes rendered offline. All shipped content is reviewed, adjusted and owned by EverLabs Software Ltd. No generative AI runs at runtime; nothing is generated live during play.
In our project, AI was used to partially create art assets, helping our artists bring some ideas to life.
Steam store page logo and cover art made with ai tools
Generative AI assisted with visuals and coding.
Some of the visual material for this game was created with the help of generative AI tools. Specifically, the opening cinematic and several of the promotional images on this store page were produced using AI-assisted image generation, followed by manual editing, compositing and art direction by our team. All gameplay, code, design and audio were created without generative AI.
Some sound effects and visual assets in the game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools.
Some visual assets were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then curated and edited by the developer: story illustrations, character portraits, key art / capsule backgrounds, and a small number of decorative item images. All gameplay sprites, animations, environments, music and sound effects are human-made assets used under CC0 / open licenses (credited in-game). Voice-over lines (English and Turkish) were generated with ElevenLabs text-to-speech under a commercial license, from scripts written by the developer. The game does not generate any content with AI at runtime. The developer has reviewed all AI-assisted content to ensure it is not illegal or infringing.
All the art in Arcanum Solitarius, from the playing cards to the Arcana and the workshop backgrounds, was made with AI image generation using a model I trained myself. I was after one specific look: a medieval alchemist's workshop by candlelight, in aged parchment and dark walnut with verdigris and old gold. Most of the music was made the same way. I used AI to draft some of the in-game writing, then rewrote it into my own words. I picked and edited every piece before it went into the game, and the images on this page come from those same assets. Nothing is generated while you play.
The game uses assets that were generated or modified using AI.
Some of our art (not all) began as generative drafts made with AI tools, then heavily reworked by hand to fit the game's look. Everything else, story, music, game design and level design is human-made (with love).
Some visual art assets and music used in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. These materials are used as part of the game's visual presentation and soundtrack. No content is generated by AI during gameplay.
I used generative AI tools to help create some of the game's art — including certain UI elements (buttons and icons), backgrounds, story illustrations, and marketing images — which I then edited and finished by hand in Photoshop.
Gravemaw's music was generated with Suno AI and its sound effects with Stable Audio Open, then edited by hand — trimmed, loop-pointed and mixed — before being placed in the game. Some store and marketing artwork was also produced with AI assistance. Every generated asset was reviewed by the developer before shipping. Nothing is generated while you play: the game runs fully offline and all content is baked into the build.
"We utilized generative AI tools to assist in the creation of 2D art assets, including in-game enemy portraits, familiar graphics, and the background illustrations, banners, and logo artwork displayed on our Steam Store page and library graphics."
Generative AI tools were used during development to generate some 3D model assets, textures, and sounds. All AI-generated content was pre-rendered and reviewed before being included in the game build. No live generative AI is used during gameplay.
AI tools were used to assist in creating some of the code and game assets. Even so, every part of the game reflects the creator's vision and passion.
Some characters and backgrounds were designed using AI.
Some models and music are generated by AI.
Generative AI was used during development to assist in creating selected pre-rendered visual assets, including character and boss artwork. These assets were reviewed, edited, animated, and integrated by the developer. Star Claw does not generate content using AI while the game is running.
Game code and some sound effects were created using generative AI. All art and music were created by very talented people.
Ai was used to develop the code, artwork, various events, and dialogue in the game. Most player-facing text was reviewed by humans and many of the events and conversations were approved, improved, or rewritten by humans. There is no run-time AI usage, everything was created before the game runs, only standard computer actions are done at runtime. ex. selections and randomization of existing content.
Regent City uses generative AI in parts of its production pipeline, including some character artwork and voice performances. All shipped assets are selected, edited, and art-directed by the solo developer to maintain a consistent visual and narrative identity.
This game is being developed solo. As an independent developer working with limited resources and budget, AI tools have been used in the production of some visual and musical assets: Some character concept art, store page marketing materials, and background/atmospheric visuals were created using AI visual generation tools, then edited and integrated by the developer to fit the game's art direction. Some visuals are included as placeholders and will be changed during development. Some background music tracks were created using AI music generation tools. The game's codebase, gameplay mechanics, character design, dialogue writing, and overall creative direction were all created manually by the developer alone. AI tools were used as a tool where access to a professional art/sound team was not possible as a solo developer; final decisions, edits, and the overall creative direction of the game were shaped by the developer.
Logo refined using AI
While a vast majority of Gloomhallow was human created, it was created by a solo developer (single person) - AI assisted in very specific fields such as; - C# Coding - SFX Generation - OST Creation - Very select UI Animations
Ironwake contains pre-generated AI content. Some 2D art assets (character sprites, portraits, item illustrations, backgrounds, and icon sets) were created using AI image-generation tools (PixelLab and MidJourney, plus licensed third-party icon packs produced with Stable Diffusion). Some sound effects, ambient audio, and music tracks were created using AI audio-generation tools (ElevenLabs). All AI-generated assets were reviewed, curated, and edited by the developer. The game does not generate any content with AI at runtime, and no live AI models are accessed by the game.
Some of the music is AI generated. See the licenses under "music" for more information.
As a passionate two-person indie team with a $0 budget, we utilize advanced, paid AI tools to breathe life into our world. We use high-quality, expressive AI voice acting to deliver emotional depth to our characters, alongside curated AI art to enhance environmental storytelling. Every asset is carefully selected and integrated by hand to match our artistic vision without compromising on quality."
AI assisted translations.
Some game text, procedural artwork, sound effects, and store page copy were created with AI assistance, then reviewed and curated by the developer. Character and enemy sprites are licensed, human-made pixel art. No content is AI-generated during gameplay.
Some characters in the game were designed using AI.
Generative AI was used as a production tool to help create selected visual and audio assets and to assist with refining some written content. The game’s concept, narrative direction, scenes, mechanics, and final presentation were defined, directed, reviewed, and edited by the developer. No content is generated by AI during gameplay.
AI generated art and other assets were referenced and partly used during development, but every effort is taken to make the game original. At UWS, we make every effort to support our art/design team and use AI very rarely to meet our production needs
Generative AI was used to assist with store copy, marketing artwork, logo/capsule concepts, and some replacement visual/audio assets. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and integrated by the developer. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay.
The visual art assets in this game — including character and enemy portraits, item icons, environment/scene artwork, UI elements, the game icon, and the store/library capsule images — were created with the help of generative AI image tools during development. All of this content was manually reviewed, curated, and edited by the team. The game does not use generative AI in real time during gameplay.

Forged Cards is a passion project, built by one person. I'm not a game studio, I'm a single developer who fell in love with an idea for a deck-builder where you build the cards and set out to make it real. Games like this usually take a team. Modern AI development tools are a big part of how one person was able to build something at this scope. I used AI coding assistants to help me build and iterate on the game's systems, AI image generation for the art, and AI-generated sound effects, all of it reviewed, edited, and shaped by me to fit the world I wanted to create. Every card, every enemy, every choice about how this game looks and feels came from a person (and some close friends) who cared about getting it right. I'm being upfront about this because I think you deserve to know how the thing you're playing was made. Forged Cards exists because these tools let one person build a game that otherwise would have stayed an idea in a notebook.
This game was created with the assistance of generative AI tools for visual assets, music, and coding. All generated material was extensively edited, arranged, curated, and directed by the developer. The gameplay design, UI layout, visual style, and overall creative vision are the result of significant human authorship.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating pre-generated visual artwork, including concept art, key art, and promotional images used for the Steam store page and marketing materials. All AI-assisted visual assets are static, reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer to match the game's dark sci-fi visual direction. The game does not use live generative AI to create gameplay, player-generated content, dialogue, images, audio, or other content during gameplay.
Pre-generated AI content: character art, backgrounds, icons and key art images, music and sound effects, and portions of the story text were created with generative AI tools (Google Gemini, fal.ai, Anthropic Claude) and were reviewed and edited by the developers. No AI content is generated at runtime.
Generative AI has been used when creating some of the images in the menu and as well as when editing some parts of the audio tracks.
Some store page text, promotional materials, localization support, and selected visual assets may be created or assisted by generative AI tools. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by Demona Vosz before publication. Vanya Online does not use generative AI to create live content during gameplay.
Asset Generation and Code auditing
This game uses AI-generated content solely for the creation of artificial voices in which voices where either generated with text-to-speech software or AI-generated voices were applied on top of human-recorded voice actors and actresses.
Generative AI tools are used as part of the visual asset production workflow for Shadows of Beginnings, including 3D models and UI/HUD elements. These assets are reviewed, edited, refined, and integrated by the development team before being used in the game. The development team remains responsible for the game's design, programming, systems, level construction, gameplay, balancing, narrative, and overall creative direction. No generative AI content is created live during gameplay.
AI-generated content is used only during the concept art and asset planning phase to generate initial creative ideas. No AI-generated content is present in the final game.
Some art assets and music pieces are created with AI tools, followed by manual editing and secondary creative refinement.
This game includes AI-assisted source assets for selected textures, environmental artwork, and portions of the soundtrack. All such materials were reviewed, substantially modified where needed, and manually integrated to fit the game's artistic direction. AI coding assistants were also used during development to improve productivity. Game design, programming, gameplay, balancing, and final creative decisions were performed by the developer.
The demo version contains temporary AI (generated music and promotional artwork only). These assets will be replaced with original content in the final version of the game.
