Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game uses AI-generated art assets (character portraits,
backgrounds, and promotional images) created during development.
AI tools also assisted with coding. All AI-generated content has
been reviewed and finalized by the developer. The game does NOT
generate any AI content in real-time during gameplay.
As a solo project, Vibin & Survivin leverages AI assistance for asset design, audio generation, and coding support. This allowed me to punch above my weight class as a single developer and focus on crafting tight, responsive action-roguelike gameplay!
The Last Color was created with the assistance of AI-powered software in several areas of production, including technical development, early-stage ideation, visual experimentation, and selected artwork. These tools were used only as part of the development process. All content available to players is pre-made, and no artificial intelligence is used to create or modify content while the game is running.
This game uses artificial intelligence to assist in generating art assets and supplementing the game code architecture. (AI was not used for game design or music.)
This work is fully developed and produced with the assistance of AI: character animations, scene maps, interface UI, sound effects, music and other art and audio materials are all generated by AI; The core gameplay mechanism of the game relies on manual planning to complete the development outline, and the implementation of segmented content and function building are all assisted by AI to complete the development work.
GnollHack features 'Overseer', an optional in-game AI assistant. Using external generative AI models, Overseer provides live-generated text responses to players during gameplay. Players can ask questions about mechanics or request contextual hints based on their current game state. AI content is strictly limited to text chat, and the service utilizes safety filters and prompt guardrails to ensure responses are safe, relevant, and free of illegal or harmful content.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating and refining some pre-generated visual assets, narrative text, localization, and store/marketing artwork. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and curated by Plants Game. No content is generated during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
Some of Last Gambit's content was created with the help of generative AI tools. Specifically, part of the artwork for the pieces and skins was generated with AI and then reviewed and refined by us. We also used AI to assist with some cross-platform code porting.
All of this content is generated during development. The game does not use generative AI during matches and does not create content in real time.
Nothing in GREATER FOOL is generated while you play. Every run is
deterministic code with seeded randomness, all music and sound is
synthesized live by the game itself, and no art comes from an image
generator: the pixel art, the icons, and the store images are drawn
in code, shape by shape.
AI assistance was used while drafting some of the game's written text,
which I edited and rewrote to fit the voice of the game.
This game uses pre-generated AI-assisted content during development. AI tools were used to assist with the creation of certain visual assets and early concept artwork. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer before inclusion in the final game. The game does not use live AI generation during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with selected pre-generated visual assets and portions of the programming work. All AI-assisted content is manually reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. Visual assets are repainted, adjusted, and brought into a consistent art style before being used in the game or promotional materials. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to any external AI services.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating some pre-generated 2D visual assets and promotional artwork. All generated material was selected, edited, composited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not send player data to generative AI services.
I am a solo developer. In the initial phase, I utilized AI tools to assist with generating partial concept designs, primarily to rapidly prototype and confirm the visual style. Every piece of final art you see in the game has been meticulously tweaked and optimized by my own hands to guarantee it aligns with the game's quality and aesthetic requirements.
Some pre-rendered 2D artwork (several of the optional tile-art style packs, plus store capsule and marketing images) was created with generative AI image tools, then curated, edited and integrated by the developer. Portions of the game's code and text were written with AI coding assistance under full human review. The game does not generate any content with AI at runtime, and contains no AI chat features.
SnapQuest uses live-generated AI as part of its core photo-scanning mechanic. When a player captures or selects a photo, a vision-language model analyzes the image and generates structured card content, including a card name, description, category, and gameplay attributes. The card artwork uses the player's submitted photo rather than an AI-generated replacement image. Generated results vary depending on the submitted photo.
Generative AI is used in this game for both asset creation (such as UI elements and character visuals) and as a tool to assist in the development process (such as code organization). Every piece of content generated by AI is carefully reviewed and refined by the development team to ensure it meets our quality standards.
AI generated art and other assets were referenced and partly used during development, but every effort is taken to make the game original. At UWS, we make every effort to support our art/design team and use AI very rarely to meet our production needs
The game's design, game systems, balance, and English narrative are human-developed. AI tools were used during development as a coding assistant, with any recommended code changes specified, reviewed, and tested by the developer. The Japanese localization was produced with AI assistance and hand-edited for nuances, idioms, and accuracy. AI tools were also used for grammar and spell checking. No content is AI-generated at runtime.
Some 2D art assets in this game (such as certain face-card portraits and mascots) were created with the assistance of AI image-generation tools and then hand-edited and composited. All game design, code, writing, and music are human-authored, and all store screenshots are captured from real gameplay. No AI-generated content is produced live during gameplay.

Send Them to Hell was built by a very small team with a very large appetite for demonic slaughter. Generative AI was used during development to create concept art and visual references for the graphic design team. These concepts were used as references during the creation and refinement of the game’s sprites and visual assets. The final assets were created and modified by the development team. The remainder of the artwork was created by human artists, who were compensated for their work and are credited in-game.
Some of the content in SacriForge was created with the help of generative AI tools during development, including 2D art and illustrations, music, sound effects, and text. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the developer.
During development, generative AI tools were used to create temporary 2D images, rough visual assets, and concept art.
These assets are used as prototypes and references during the development phase. In the final version of the game, they will be replaced with original, hand-crafted assets.
The background music was created with Suno and the intro narration with ElevenLabs. This content was generated during development, reviewed by the developer, and baked into the build. All sound effects are synthesized in code at runtime and all art is generated procedurally in code — neither is AI.
Some visual assets in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools, then edited and integrated by the developer.
The game does not use live generative AI to generate content during gameplay.
AI was used as a creative tool for:
Generating and refining background art (later curated by our artists)
Creating early atmospheric textures for the soundtrack (finished by human composers)
All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and finalized by the team to ensure quality and consistency.
Some promotional artwork and achievement icons were created using generative AI and then manually edited by the developer. No gameplay content is generated by AI.
This game contains content created with the assistance of generative AI during development.
Generative AI tools were used to help create and iterate on parts of the game code, music, artwork, images, and multilingual translations. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by the developer.
The game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
Some visual assets in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools, including UI icons, skill and relic icons, character portraits and sprites, combat VFX, dungeon tile art, and menu and interface decoration. All generated images were reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team.
Ashen Crown was built almost entirely with the help of generative AI. The game's code was written through conversation with an AI assistant (Claude), with me directing, correcting, testing, and deciding what the game should be. All in-game visuals are drawn in code rather than created by an artist, and the sound and music were generated with AI as well. No third-party art, audio, or text assets were used. AI was a tool throughout development; the design, direction, and final decisions are mine.
Dungeon Door utilizes generative AI to enhance creative expression and development efficiency as follows:
Artwork and Visual Assets: Generative AI was used in the conceptualization of character designs and the creation of marketing assets for the Steam store page. Every asset has been carefully reviewed and manually refined to ensure it adheres to the intended classic pixel art aesthetic.
Text and Narrative: AI tools assisted in drafting store descriptions, synopses, and localizing in-game text to provide a consistent experience across different languages.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some pre-generated visual and text assets, including Steam store or marketing materials. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and included before release. The game does not generate new AI content during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services while running.
