Public Steam disclosure research 26,450 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Used for character voice acting and English localization (translation).
Some of the images on our store page were created by artificial intelligence and edits were made on the images. and some images in the game were made by artificial intelligence.
Some images were being created.
Generative AI was used to help create some pre-generated art assets, including UI icons, store promotional artwork and logos. Gameplay screenshots are captured from the actual game. The game does not use generative AI during play or connect to third-party AI services.
We are two person team and we have been working on this game for two years. Some assets and scenes were generated, others were sourced from real world scans and photos and lifted into 3D
Some music, audio, visual content and localization text were created with the assistance of generative AI.
Generative AI tools have been used to assist with various aspects of Hollowmere's development, including the creation of additional systems the team was unable to bring to life
In the interest of transparency, I would like to inform players that artificial intelligence was used to generate certain menu backgrounds and story illustrations, as well as to correct and improve the writing of my texts. The development and creation of the game remain entirely my own work.
Roads Taken was made by one developer working with an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude). The assistant wrote most of the game's code under the developer's direction, including the code that draws the pixel art and composes the music, and it wrote the game's text together with the developer: the hand-written campaign, Wren's story, and the lines the generated stories are built from. Every part was directed, reviewed and chosen by the developer. The recorded instruments come from a freely licensed sound font.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating some pre-generated visual assets, audio, and localized text. The game does not generate content with AI during gameplay.
Emberspark is an independent project shaped by its creator's game design, creative direction, and playtesting. Generative AI tools helped create and refine the artwork and title logo, in-game text and translations, and music and sound effects. All of this content is prepared in advance; nothing is generated by AI while you play.
This game uses AI technology in the production of some of its illustrations, music, voice, and text assets. All generated assets have been reviewed and adjusted by the developer before inclusion. The in-game "Takken AI" study assistant does NOT generate text. It identifies the term or system the player asks about and displays the matching explanation from study data that the developer wrote and verified in advance. It uses no machine-learning model, runs entirely on the player's device, and sends no data externally. Explanations are limited to the included material and may become outdated due to legal revisions, so please check the official exam information for anything that affects your exam.
Some of the game's content, including text and artwork, was created with the help of generative AI tools and reviewed by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
AI is everywhere even here, and I didn't learn how to code, thankfully (only how to light up LED). So I used AI to create this GAME.
Game translations were created with the assistance of AI.
Some artwork was created with the help of generative AI tools: the key art used on the store page and in marketing materials, the single ending illustration, and two character illustrations added in the Steam edition. The English localization (in-game text and the store page descriptions) was produced with AI assistance. The story, characters, maps, and game design were created by the developer. Music, sound effects, and other assets include licensed and free materials used under their respective terms. No content is generated by AI while the game is running.
Generative AI tools were used throughout the development of this game. The developer personally selected, reviewed, and assembled the final content used in the game and on its store page. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
AI-assisted tools were used during development for in-game writing and the creation of model, interface and audio assets. The instrumental soundtrack was generated with Suno and edited for use in the game. Some promotional artwork was generated with AI. Gameplay screenshots and footage are captured from the game. No generative AI runs during gameplay.
The game's art, music, sound effects and translations were made with the help of AI tools. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
We used AI to help write our Steam store page description, assist with coding, and create some shaders.
I use AI to help me with translations and coding.
This game uses pre-generated music tracks created with Suno and edited/arranged for use as background music. Some store and marketing visual assets may also use AI-assisted image generation. The game does not include live generative AI features during gameplay.
This software includes an optional AI assistant that can draw on the canvas from a text description. It is "bring your own key" (BYOK): the AI features work only with your own account at a third-party AI provider that you choose and pay for yourself (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Moonshot, Zhipu, Qwen, OpenRouter, or a local model running on your own machine via Ollama / LM Studio). We do not host, resell or proxy any AI service, we do not sell AI usage, and we take no cut of it. The editor itself works fully offline with no AI connection at all. AI output is applied to your canvas as ordinary, undoable edits - you can undo, paint over or delete anything the AI produces. Guardrails: every AI request passes through a built-in, offline content filter before it is sent to the provider. It blocks requests for (1) sexual content involving minors, (2) explicit sexual content, (3) instructions for illegal manufacture, and (4) hate or extremist propaganda. Filtered requests are never sent. Anything not blocked remains subject to your provider's own usage policies. Pre-generated AI content: the application icon and store artwork were created with AI tools and then edited by hand; parts of the source code were written with the help of AI coding assistants.
Campfire Simulator is a solo project. I designed, directed and playtested every part of it, and used AI tools to help build it, including the code, the art and composing the music.

This game was developed with the help of an AI coding assistant. The code, and the content built through it - voxel models, maps, logo, music and sound effects, interface, translations, and store text and images - were created with AI assistance and then reviewed, directed and adjusted by the developer. No AI image, voice or music generators were used: all visuals are voxel models rendered by the game itself, and the music is composed note by note and played with recorded instrument samples. No content is generated by AI during gameplay.
NBD2 is an AI game development studio. As a solo indie dev who is unlikely to ever make a dime from any of my games, there's no other way I could bring my ideas to life. Glow Trap was created using generative AI during development, including its artwork, animation and visuals, its sound effects and ambient sound, and its game code. All AI generation took place during development. The game does not generate AI content or code during play or connect to an external AI service. The game's translations into other languages were also made with AI during development. I recognize AI in game development is an extremely sensitive topic and I appreciate both sides. I only hope the game is fun. The goal should always be making something that human beings will enjoy.
Polybarius is the work of an independent developer, with AI assistance used for parts of the code and some translations. All AI-assisted work was reviewed and supervised by the developer. No content is generated by AI during gameplay.
Generative AI was used to create some of the game's 3D objects and 2D user interface artwork, as well as Steam store and library artwork. These assets were generated in advance. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services during gameplay.
AI tools assisted the developer with some of the game's art, text and code. Everything in the game was chosen, edited and reviewed by the developer.
some Ki was used
Pre-generated content only (nothing is generated live while playing): - Character voice lines and some sound effects were created with AI voice/sound tools (ElevenLabs) from scripts written by the developer and selected/edited by hand. - Some 2D artwork (e.g. the menu emblem) was made with AI image tools and edited by the developer. - Development was assisted by an AI coding assistant, including scripts that procedurally build the low-poly 3D models; the developer directed and reviewed all content. - Store page capsules and screenshots are rendered from the game itself.
Localization. Coding assistance.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with a limited portion of the game's user interface content, as well as store copy and promotional artwork. All such content is prepared in advance. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
The logo, key art, villager and ruler portraits, and the music were produced with generative AI tools (through Artlist and a local Stable Diffusion setup) and then selected and edited by the developer. The 3D world, buildings, characters and animals are procedural low-poly models built in code, and the sound effects are synthesised in the game. No content is generated while the game is running; everything is pre-generated and shipped in the build. No real people's likenesses or voices are used.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some artwork, promotional images, store descriptions, and localization. This content was prepared before release and is provided as fixed assets or text. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not offer AI chat or content-generation features to players.
