Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI generated content is used for store page and for meshes in game, I am a solo developer can't really afford the time to make custom meshes nor to pay and buy it.
Some of the 3D models used for the table and room background in this game were created with the assistance of a generative AI (text-to-3D) tool, and were then adjusted and integrated by the developer. All other assets — including the dictionary data, UI artwork, sound, and all in-game text — were produced without generative AI. No content is generated by AI while you play.
AI-generated content was used for some visual assets and headers in the game.
Voxel Siege uses generative AI for some pre-generated content, all reviewed by the developer before inclusion. Specifically: some in-game material/block textures were created with AI image tools; the music and sound effects were created with AI audio-generation tools; the store page description and some marketing copy were drafted with AI assistance; and some level/fortress layouts were generated with AI-assisted tooling. All AI-generated content was created during development (not live or at runtime), was reviewed by the developer, and does not incorporate third-party intellectual property. The game does not generate any AI content live during gameplay.
AI was used for prototyping, asset generation and coding assistance.
Some visual assets (a portion of skill icons and the boss health-bar UI element) and background music tracks were created with the assistance of AI generation tools.
Generative AI was used only to help create the store header image and some sound effects. All final content was checked and polished by our team.

It has been used in the store page images and achievement images.
AI helped me with complex network code.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in the creation of some visual assets. All AI-assisted content is pre-generated and included as part of the game. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Generative AI was used during development to create and iterate on selected pre-rendered 2D artwork, environmental textures, decals, and billboard/sign graphics. These assets were selected, edited, processed, and integrated by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
Art and sound is made using AI.
Wyrdane uses AI-generated artwork for its card illustrations. As a solo developer working without a starting budget, this is a pragmatic choice to bring the game's world to life and test its mechanics without a professional illustration budget. If the project finds its audience, the goal is to progressively replace these visuals with artwork made by human illustrators. Game design, card balance, game mechanics, world-building, and creative direction are entirely human-made. AI is a production tool, not the creator of this game.
I am a solo indie developer with little coding experience. AI has helped me with the programming in my game, which has allowed me to build this game for you all. Game Development is a big passion of mine, and I could not do it without the assistance of AI.
Generative AI tools were used in the development of this game. Image-generation AI was used to create the store artwork (key art and capsule images) and some in-game art assets (character illustrations, backgrounds, etc.), with all final selection, editing, and finishing done by the developers. AI assistants were also used to help write portions of the game's code. No content is generated by AI in real time while the game is running.
All visual assets, audio, course designs / implementations are human created. The aim was to ensure all creative elements were human created with the majority coming from the original Xbox Indie Game. Generative AI was used to port between the now defunct Xbox Indie (XGFW) platform to a modern platform (MonoGame) and to move to modern graphics cards (shaders). It was also used to add additional, optional, CRT visual modes and to do non-creative changes including identifying and resolving bugs and optimising play to improve framerate and minimum requirements.
This game uses generative AI in a limited way. AI tools were used only to help create some of the store page and library artwork (such as the capsule images used to display the game in the Steam library and store). The game itself contains no AI-generated content. All in-game art, assets, screenshots, and the trailer were created without generative AI. No AI content is generated while you play.
AI has been used to localize page descriptions into some languages. Generative translation will eventually be replaced by human translation.
Generative AI tools were used in part during the development of this game. · Some character concept art and illustrations were produced using generative AI tools. All such images were subsequently reviewed and adjusted by our development team before being used in the game. · The images shipped in the game are the result of that review and adjustment process. Game design, systems, programming, rules, and balancing were created by our development team without generative AI.
During Early Access, AI placeholders might be used in lieu of handcrafted assets to speed up development and to improve the game’s visual fidelity. It is currently our plan to gradually replace all AI-generated assets by the final release.
Generative AI assisted selected pre-rendered visual assets, all reviewed by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Some of this game's assets were made with generative AI tools: the music, the store artwork, and the French translation. Everything ships as fixed files that were generated, chosen, and edited by the developer. Nothing is generated while you play, and the game never connects to an AI service.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation and refinement of certain visual assets, including some user interface graphics, promotional artwork, and other supporting art elements. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and selected by the developer before being included in the game. Generative AI is not used to create content during gameplay.
Using Generative AI for the logos, cover images and online content, the game itself has no AI used.

Development of PUCKVPUCK was assisted by an AI coding assistant. It helped write and review the game's code — including the sound effects, which are synthesised mathematically in code rather than recorded or sampled — and it drafted text for this store page. No AI image, audio or video generation models were used: the visuals are drawn procedurally by hand-written code, every screenshot and trailer clip is real captured gameplay, and all music was written and performed by the developers. Nothing is generated live while you play.
Generative AI tools were used during development to create some pre-generated 2D concept art and visual assets that appear in the game and its marketing materials. These assets were selected, edited, integrated, and reviewed by the development team. The game does not generate AI content while it is running.
Some shipped content was created with the help of generative AI tools and then reviewed and edited by the developer: parts of the store and marketing artwork, the trailer music, and the first drafts of the interface translations (German, Spanish, French, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese). All gameplay, rules logic and code are deterministic and human-reviewed. The game does not generate any AI content at runtime.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating some UI elements. No AI-generated content was used as-is; all assets were manually reviewed, refined, and polished by our designers before inclusion in the game.
The visual assets in Grim Looters — character, monster, item and card artwork, plus the store and marketing images — were created with the assistance of generative AI image tools and then curated, edited, and assembled by the developer. Some background music was AI-assisted. All AI-generated content is reviewed by the developer to ensure it is appropriate and cleared for use. No AI content is generated live during gameplay.
Generative AI was used only to create selected pre-generated promotional artwork for the Steam store page and other marketing materials. All resulting images were manually reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay and does not generate any live AI content.
Generative artificial intelligence is used to speed up work with texts, sounds, and images.
Generative AI was used solely as a development assistance tool. All player-facing artwork, audio, narrative, localization, and marketing assets were created by the developer. The game does not include or generate AI-created content.
All graphics and sounds in Woolmates are calculated at runtime by the game itself; no AI-generated image, audio, or video files are delivered. AI assistance tools were used in the development of the program code as well as in text and marketing materials. No AI is used during the actual game.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with some pre-generated 2D artwork, icons, card and character illustrations, store graphical assets, localization, written content, and portions of code implementation. All outputs were reviewed, selected, edited where needed, and manually integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content or code during gameplay.
