Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI was used to generate in-game visuals and texts.
A part of the background and scenes. Some elements of the user interface.
The puzzle images pre-rendered AI art
The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this: We used generative AI to help create the level layouts and parts of the game code. Everything was then tweaked, edited, and put together by us. All gameplay and design decisions are fully human-made.
Generative AI tools were used during the development process to assist in 2D artwork (such as UI elements, icons, and promotional images). All AI-generated assets are pre-rendered and have been manually reviewed and modified by the developer before being integrated into the final game.
Most of this game is AI-generated. In-game text (UI, game names, descriptions), graphics (player icons, vector elements), code and the majority of the micro-game implementations — all AI, then reviewed and curated by the developer. Localization to all non-English languages is AI-translated. No AI runs at runtime; everything is pre-generated and shipped statically.
Generative AI was used as a development assistant during this project. It helped with brainstorming gameplay mechanics, coding/debugging support, level design ideas, marketing copy, store description text, and some promotional/store artwork. The game itself is a 2D platformer developed in Unity. Gameplay does not use live generative AI, and no content is generated dynamically during gameplay.
AI is used to draw pictures and icons, to generate music and sounds.
I have used Claude Code to create the game itself code and assets.
Some assets were generated by AI
In the development of BABY PEAK, we utilized artificial intelligence as a supportive tool to enhance our creative vision. Here is how it was integrated: Conceptual Brainstorming: AI was used as a sounding board during the early stages of development for brainstorming core mechanics, naming suggestions, and general concepts. Routine Tasks & Optimization: We employed AI tools to handle repetitive technical tasks, such as optimizing small code snippets and organizing data, to increase our workflow efficiency. Human-Driven Craftsmanship: All core game design, level architecture, visual identity, and gameplay balancing are entirely the result of our team’s manual work and creativity. In short, AI did not act as the "creator" of this game; instead, it served as a digital assistant to help us bring our unique ideas to life more efficiently.
Some visual assets in this game, including certain textures and illustrative elements, were initially created using generative AI tools and then manually edited, refined, and integrated by the developer as part of the final game production.
Some artwork in this title was created using Stable Diffusion
Translations made with IA
Generative AI was used in the creation of promotional store page artwork, achievement icons, and the game icon. No gameplay content, code, or game mechanics were generated using AI. AI is also not used to make decisions, generate real-time content, or display content within the game.
Some store page and in-game artwork (joker icons and event background scenes) were created using AI image generation tools. All AI-generated content is reviewed and curated by the developer. Game mechanics, story text, code, character animations and audio are not AI-generated.
AI was used to make the paint streaks in the main menu and pause menu.
All gameplay artwork is handmade. The title background image is AI generated; I don't have enough skill nor a desire to commission a single flavor image.
Generative AI was used in a limited and supportive way during development. AI tools were utilized to help draft and refine parts of the store page description, and to assist in editing or enhancing some visual assets for presentation and marketing purposes.
AI was used during development to assist with code generation, some graphical assets, and selected music or audio elements. All content was reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the game.
AI tools were used to generate some images (mostly cards), which were then edited by hand before being included in the game or its marketing.
Generative AI has been used when creating some of the images in the menu.
Only the Steam capsule pictures were generated by AI.
Some visual assets and parts of the development workflow for Forest of Numbers were created with the assistance of generative artificial intelligence tools. All content was curated, reviewed, and refined by the developer before being included in the final game.
Our Production Partners: - Engineered by Reupped Technologies LLC - Original Character Design & Creative Direction by Winter Desktops - Animation Production by Kiran Graphix & 3D Studio Winter Panda itself is not AI-generated, AI-powered, or AI-assisted gameplay software. The application functionality, desktop companion systems, and behavioural interactions were manually designed and developed. Some promotional and Steam store marketing materials, including selected artwork and trailers, were partially created or enhanced using generative AI-assisted creative tools.
Grid Lands uses generative AI during development in three areas: some in-game illustrations and icons are produced with AI image-generation tools, some player-facing text (in-game copy and store-page text) is drafted with AI writing assistance, and our developers use AI coding assistants while writing the game. All assets, text, and code are reviewed and refined by our team before release. The game itself does not use generative AI at runtime — no player data is sent to AI services during play, and no in-game content is generated live.
Some visual, audio, or text content in this game was created or supported using generative AI tools during the development process.
The promotional visuals and banners on the Steam store page were created with the support of generative AI tools. In contrast, the in-game assets were either manually created or later edited. However, certain marketing materials, such as headers, capsules, and banners, contain AI-generated components.
Some of the art is generated, and Localization was done by AI as well. These usages are all temporary and will be replaced with real art, and localization by launch
Generative AI was used only in assisting with promotional elements of the game. There is absolutely no AI Generated Content In-Game.
Different Ai tools used in creating artwork for the game, audio tracks, being a single developer utilizing different tools to help accomplish the same goal.
This game contains AI-generated content on the game cover.
We used AI to help make the store page artwork, some of the in game items, and some of the capybaras.
The background images and peaches pictures are pre-rendered AI art.
We use AI as a creative assistant to refine our English descriptions and ensure they are easy to read and engaging (since we are not native speakers). In addition, some of the game’s illustrations were created with the help of generative AI tools and later refined by human artists.
AI image generation tools were used to create some promotional artwork and store page images. The game does not connect to any AI services or generate AI content during play.
Some content may have been generated using automated tools or processes.
This game was developed with the assistance of generative AI tools for portions of code, store text, and some marketing/supporting visual assets. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
AI-generated artifacts
Some visual prototype assets and early promotional materials may include content created with generative AI. Final gameplay design, implementation, balancing, and overall creative direction are developed by the creator.
Silly Agent is a labor of love by a single developer. To make a game of this scale possible, I've integrated AI technology for specific assets like background music, character voices, and some 3D model foundations. This tech acts as my "extended team," allowing me to deliver a rich, voiced, and musically atmospheric world that would otherwise take years for one person to build manually.
AI tools use to edit game visuals
I have used Claude Code to create the game itself code and assets.
Some graphical assets, musical assets, localization, and portions of code were partially created with the assistance of generative AI programs and large language models (LLMs).
AI has been used to generate 3D models based off of human-created concept art.
This game uses generative AI as part of the development process. AI tools were used to assist in the creation of certain visual assets, concepts, and marketing materials. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated manually to ensure consistency with the game's design and quality standards. The gameplay itself is fully designed and controlled by the developer, with no real-time AI-generated content during play.
This app uses AI tools during the development process, for example to configure some behavior algorithms. All cat sprite art consists of hand-drawn works by human artists, purchased under a commercial license. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
AI has been used to check for localizations mistakes, some PoC textures that will be replaced, and boiler plate code.
This game uses generative AI to assist with select localizations. All translations are reviewed by the developer.
Some text content prepared in advance, including descriptions and localized text, may be created, translated, or improved with the assistance of AI-based tools.
