Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Yes, I use AI tools to help build this game, and I'm not going to pretend I don't.
I'm one person. Every system, mechanic, and design decision is made, tested, and tuned by me personally. I use the best tools available, AI among them, to let a one-person studio punch way above its weight. That's the entire point of being indie: no rules except the ones that make a better game.
Assets are a fluid mix of commercially licensed, hand-crafted, AI-generated, AI-generated then hand-adjusted, and hand-crafted then AI-polished. I'll use whatever it takes to make this the best game it can be.
We use generative AI tools during our development process to assist with refining in-game text. Additionally, AI was utilized to help localize game content into multiple languages to ensure a broader reach. All AI-assisted content has been manually reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team to maintain high quality and consistency.
Some visual, audio, and creative assets in Overcommit may be partially created with the assistance of generative AI tools during the development process.
These tools are used to help prototype ideas, generate reference material, or assist in producing certain assets. All generated content is reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer to ensure it fits the game’s artistic style and design.
Generative AI is not used to create gameplay dynamically, and it does not interact with player data.
AI tools were used to assist with writing game narrative and event text during development. All style guides directing tone, humor, and historical relevance were created by the developer and all content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer.
Some of the art assets were made using gen AI and retouched by a human artist.
Some of the translations were made using gen AI and reviewed by a human native speaker.
This game currently includes a few 2D Image AI-generated assets (those include 5 of the slot machine's icons, 7 character portraits displayed on the main hallway, the main menu background image & current thumbnail) used as placeholders during the Early Access phase. These assets are scheduled to be replaced with original, non-AI artwork in a future content update. No AI tools are used for live, runtime content generation.
This game was developed by a solo developer with the assistance of generative AI tools during production.
AI tools such as ChatGPT were used as a development aid for Unreal Engine guidance, technical explanations, spell-checking, and drafting some in-game text and UI messaging. ChatGPT was also used to generate some placeholder images and audio assets during early development.
Some 3D models and textures were created using AI-assisted tools such as Tripo3D.ai. These assets may be refined, replaced, or improved over time as the project evolves and budget allows.
All gameplay systems, mechanics, design decisions, Blueprint scripting, and overall game implementation were created and assembled by the developer. No AI system autonomously generated gameplay code or core systems.
Additional assets were purchased through the Unreal Engine Fab Marketplace where noted.
AI tools were used strictly as production assistants to support solo development.
Burner Empire uses generative AI in the following ways:
During Development
Some visual assets in the game were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools. These assets were reviewed, curated, and integrated by the development team as part of the game's overall visual design.
In Gameplay
Burner Empire features an AI-driven bot fleet that populates the game world with computer-controlled players. These bots use a combination of scripted decision logic and AI-driven behavior modeling to simulate realistic player activity — cooking drugs, deploying dealers, traveling between districts, and engaging in PvP. The bot fleet exists to ensure the game world feels active and competitive regardless of the current number of human players online.
The bot fleet is not generative AI in the traditional sense — it does not produce text, images, or creative content. It is a behavioral simulation system designed to make the multiplayer environment feel alive during off-peak hours and at launch while the player community grows.
What AI Does Not Do
No generative AI is used to create real-time dialogue, procedurally generate game content during play, or make decisions that affect monetization or player accounts.
Agraria is a solo-developed project, and we're upfront that we used Ai as part of our workflow. AI tools were used as part of the production process for some art assets, music, and code assistance, with human design, creation, direction, editing, integration, and final implementation throughout. If that’s a deal-breaker for you, we totally understand!
Dust & Diamonds is a 100% solo project.
The idea for this game came to me a few days after my son was born — my first child. I was celebrating with my cousin and bet him I could build something like Motherload in two weeks. As you've probably guessed, I lost that bet spectacularly. I'm writing this almost a year later, and my son turns one in a few days.
I have a degree in computer game engineering, but I live in a small town with no game studios — so I drive a pallet jack around a warehouse by day and build this game after hours. I can't afford to hire an artist or a composer. To bring this world to life at all, I turned to generative AI tools. I'm not going to hide that.
How does the game use AI?
Graphics (2D): A significant portion of the visual assets — character portraits, environment elements, buildings — was generated using AI, then manually retouched, edited, and assembled by me in the engine into a cohesive style with a parallax system.
Music and sound: The musical tracks in the game were generated by AI. Fittingly, this ties directly into the game's lore — the "Relics of the Old World" (our 21st century) collected by the goblins are canonically works created by AI before the great cataclysm, carrying the lost wisdom of humanity.
What's mine in this game is the design: how the economy works, how water behaves in a flooded shaft, when a ceiling collapses, what the old man says across the counter. I came up with each of these systems, wrote them out, tested them, and reworked them a dozen times until they behaved the way I wanted.
I'm just a regular guy who had an idea for a game about digging in the dirt and was stubborn enough to see it through. Thank you for your understanding and support.
This app includes pre-generated AI-assisted visual assets used in store/marketing materials and some in-game 2D visuals. No generative AI features are available to players during gameplay, and the game does not accept user prompts for AI generation.
This game has used Generative AI during the development process. It was used minimally during coding, mostly for auto complete, <1% of the code is a result of the output from AI. More extensively is AIs use in the artwork, in order to speed up the process sketches were created by artist, details were filled in by AI, then artists corrected the output.
In WE ARE FOOTBALL 2027 we use about 12,500 AI-generated realistic-looking photos for generic male and female players. These pictures are e.g. displayed on the line-up screen or on the player profile screens. Only photographs of persons photographed specifically for this purpose were used.
All in-game content, including gameplay assets, audio, writing, and text, was created by humans, as credited in the game.
Some Steam store and promotional materials may have been created or refined with the assistance of generative AI / LLM tools, for example for drafting or polishing marketing assets.
Some videos and images in this game are generated using artificial intelligence. AI tools were used to enhance visual effects and create unique scenes, carefully aligned with the game's art style.
During the development process, we may use AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Some minor visual assets, such as icons and UI elements, were created or assisted using licensed AI tools during development.
All AI-assisted content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the overall art direction and quality standards.
AI is not used in gameplay systems, code, or real-time content generation.
During the development and live service of the game, AI-based tools may be utilized to support in game visual content creation, marketing materials, live chat translation features, and partial in-game dialogue and script localization.
In all such cases and regardless of the workflow, the final product is a reflection of our own development team's creativity and artistic expression.
