Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We use Generative AI technology in some assets to assist with texture creation and initial modeling drafts. Crucially, all AI-generated content in this game is generated based on the development team's own primary/original work, followed by rigorous review and editing. All final artistic work and decisions are strictly managed within the team to ensure originality and quality.
A few images have been generated, where it make sense that the AI in the game would use generic stock photos, but the overwhelming majority of art is handmade.
AI tools were used during development to generate initial 3D model drafts and UI artwork assets. All AI-generated content was manually reviewed, refined, and integrated by the development team. No AI generates content at runtime during gameplay.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of certain game art assets, such as textures and UI elements. These assets were further refined and polished by our internal development team to ensure visual quality and consistency within the Unreal Engine environment.
Marshals of War is the result of years of work by a solo developer, supported by freelance artists and collaborators. Generative AI has been used to explore ideas and directions, influencing some assets in the game and its marketing. Handcrafted work remains the primary process behind the game’s development.
This game has used AI in debugging and some code tweaks with help from a human, and some development assets that have since been replaced with human made assets
Some scenery/environment visual elements (map backgrounds) were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development and were later reviewed, edited, and integrated manually by the team. All other game content — characters, UI, icons, gameplay sprites, tilesets, audio and text — was produced without generative AI, using original artwork and/or licensed third-party assets.
We used AI to localize the text, as well as to enhance some of the graphical assets on the Steam store page. AI is not used in the game content itself.
AI is used to assist in development across all departments. Our team is small, but dedicated and fiercely dedicated to providing the best games possible, using whatever tools are available.
This game includes AI-generated content. Voice lines were created using ElevenLabs AI voice synthesis technology. Some sound effects were generated using AI tools. The intro sequence features AI-generated images that were heavily edited and manipulated in Adobe Photoshop as part of the artistic process.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence to create music, sound effects, ambient sounds, images, character models, translations, and marketing materials
This game includes some pre-generated content created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All such content has been curated, edited, and finalized by the development team. The game does not include any live, player-interactive, or runtime AI-generated content.
Generative AI tools are used in War Commander to modify existing art assets. Some 2D animations are created using our own custom characters and AI tools.
AI is used to help generate some icons and visual elements to improve the player experience, and to assist with drafting certain text, which is then reviewed and edited by the developer.
AI does not affect gameplay or player behavior.
We use AI to generate example images, as well as to create variations of in-game assets by applying different rendering methods or artistic styles based on existing resources.
The following assets in this game were created with the assistance of Generative AI:
Visuals :
- The main capsule image on the Steam store page
- Character images used in dialogue scenes
Audio :
- In-game background music (BGM), Sound effects (SFX), and UI sounds
During the dialogue sequences, the characters avatar representations have been created using AI image generation tools based on original 3D images of the in-game models
🎮 About the Development of this game
As a project developed by a solo creator with limited manpower, Explosive Battle is dedicated to delivering a battlefield that feels both familiar and freshly innovative. Here is our transparent disclosure regarding the game's content creation:
Character Concept Art: During the conceptual design phase, generative AI tools were used for style exploration, initial composition, and editing of key art (such as the store capsule images). This helped in finding a unique visual direction.
Generative AI was used during the development process as an assistant for writing code scripts and debugging. Additionally, AI tools were utilized to assist with the translation of in-game text for localization purposes. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and edited by the developers.
We use AI to generate the music you hear in the trailer(s), and have used it to refine our descriptions of the game as you see on Steam. Occasionally we may use AI to assist us in coding the game, or completely write parts of code for our game. However, during gameplay there are no parts of AI used, what you see in the game when it comes to art, 3D-models, effects, etc., is made manually without AI, with the exception being parts of the code.
AI tools were used to generate content for both the game and its store presence. Specifically, AI was used to create marketing materials and capsule images for the store page. In-game, AI was utilized to create visual assets for units and buildings, as well as video elements for the studio intro and the main menu.
Throughout the game, there are displayed lines of code written out that serve as flavor text and effects for many elements of the game's UI & visuals. This huge amount of text was generated by ChatGPT with the express instruction that none of it is really functional, but visually plausible C# code.
Almost all of the game is hand-made art and code, but A.I. has been used to create concepts and is used in the workflow to quickly get ideas for logos or assets.
The voice overs are currently all a.i. generated but will be replaced at an later point.
Visuals: Some UI elements utilize materials based on AI-generated content that have been processed and edited. All primary artwork is handcrafted.
Audio: AI was utilized and adjusted to align with the game’s unique world and atmosphere.
Translation: AI was used to create the initial draft for the English localization, which was then manually reviewed and refined by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with visual materials, texture design, localization, marketing texts, and partially for coding assistance. No AI is used during gameplay or for generating real-time content.
To focus more on the gameplay itself, some of the icons, sprites and logos have had AI-assisted rendering for the purpose of improving the final artistic presentation to the end user. Text to Speech tools have assisted in the generation of voice audio used within the menus and the main levels of the game.
In Police Chief we use AI tools to support development in creative ways, never for coding or game logic. AI helps us generate things like:
- logos and design ideas
- Randomized names, reports, and text responses
- Suggestions and advice to improve features
All core gameplay, systems, and programming are made by the development team.
AI is only used to improve content of like callouts, reaction from NPC's etc.
