Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game makes use of AI generative video, audio and AI assisted scripting.
The game's 2D artwork (characters, environments, and title lettering) and music were created with the assistance of generative AI tools, then curated, edited, and animated by the developer. All AI-assisted content is pre-rendered; nothing is generated by AI while you play.
Some steps of the art production used AI tools, for example to create or upscale backgrounds and illustrations that were then refined by hand, and for first drafts of language translations. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Intergalactic Burger Joint has been a labor of love, with a lot of time, attention, and care put into bringing this little corner of the galaxy to life. The game’s 3D characters, environments, and props use licensed Synty assets. Generative AI helped create achievement icons, some interface and branding artwork, Steam store images, music, ambient audio, sound effects, and chef and customer voices. It also helped us write in-game text and dialogue. Choosing what belonged, refining the details, and bringing everything together into a game took time, experimentation, and care. We hope you feel that love in the little details as you play. All AI-generated content was created during development. Nothing is generated live while you play.
Artificial intelligence was used as a supportive developer tool. It helped create conceptual background environment art. It also generated ambient layers for the soundtrack. This was done solely to enhance the neon synthwave atmosphere. All content underwent manual selection and final refinement.
I've just gen AI to help with the store page and coding of game elements.
Generative AI tools were used during development to help create selected artwork, audio assets, and promotional materials. These materials were reviewed and selected by the developer. Wreckums does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services while you play.
The developer used generative AI tools during the development process to assist in creating pre-generated 2D visual assets (such as backgrounds and promotional art) and to help generate programming code. All AI-generated content was heavily modified, curated, and reviewed by the developer to fit the game's cyberpunk setting. There is no live-generated AI content in this game.
Generative AI was used only to localize text originally written by the developer, and human review will continue up until official release.
Generative AI tools were used to help create some pre-made sound effects and marketing materials, including store-page text and promotional artwork. These are fixed assets prepared during development. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay; its random holes and boundaries are created by procedural game code.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some artwork, text, localization, and other game content. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by the developers before inclusion in the game.
The banners on the game's Steam page were generated by AI
Generative AI was used for part of this game's content production (background art, music, and text), as well as for part of this store page's text (description and translation).
We used generative AI during development. The title logo image was created with a generative AI image tool. Sound effects in the game and in the trailer are synthesised by a script that was written with AI coding assistance. The nine non-Japanese interface translations and the store text were produced by AI. AI coding assistance was used throughout development. The game does not generate any content with AI while it runs.
AI tools were used to assist with writing and reviewing game code during development. No AI-generated art, audio, or narrative content ships in the final game.
We use AI as a production tool in areas of development, with all creative direction, concepts, and final assembly done by humans: Code assistance: AI tools help us write and debug GDScript/shader code for our Godot 4.5 engine. All architecture, game design decisions, and systems design are human-led. 3D models and art assets: Some 3D models and textures are AI-generated or AI-assisted, then manually cleaned up, retopologized, and integrated by hand. Final visual style and direction are decided by us. Audio: Some sound effects and audio elements are AI-generated, then curated, edited, and mixed to fit the game. Everything else — the game concept, world design, story, gameplay systems, and the process of bringing all elements together into the final game — is entirely human-made.
Generative AI was used to help create some of this game's marketing artwork, including the store page header and capsule images, based on descriptive prompts we wrote. Generative AI was also used to assist with writing the game's English-language localization (in-game menus and interface text).
Astrovein was developed with the help of AI tools. The following content is AI-generated and was reviewed by the developer: - Source code: partially AI-generated, reviewed and tested by the developer. - Store artwork (capsule images and promotional art): AI-generated. - Character portraits (captains): AI-generated. - Store page copy: drafted with AI assistance, then edited and approved by the developer. The in-game 3D models, sound effects, and music are licensed third-party assets (not AI-generated). No AI content is generated live while the game is running.
Assets in Graphical Assets, including Store assets and Library assets, are used AI to design.
Some environment art is AI-generated (game background and level-select planet images). Gameplay models, UI, store capsules, and trailer footage are original. Code was written with AI assistance.
To make the game accessible to more players, AI has been used to translate some in-game text to other languages.
AstralX uses generative AI only for some 2D illustrative images, primarily certain biome visuals and depictions of some races/species. The game contains well over 1,000 such visual elements, which is why generative AI was used to assist with part of this 2D artwork. Generative AI is not used for the game's simulation, mathematical calculations, gameplay rules, mechanics, or underlying systems. These elements were designed and developed manually by the developer. 3D content is also not generated using AI. The music was composed manually and performed by a real pianist. The sound design was likewise created through traditional human production rather than generative AI. No generative AI is used dynamically during gameplay.
Experimental translation beta branch includes generative large language model assisted translations.
Generative AI tools were used throughout the development of this game to assist in the creation of visual assets, audio, and other content. All AI-generated outputs underwent extensive manual curation, review, and post-processing by our team.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence for FMV video communications (video and audio), sound effects, sprite images, textures, 3D models. You'd be hard pressed to find a corner of this game AI hasn't touched. I made this because I enjoy it.
Crimson Nova is designed by me and made using AI tools. Character art, backgrounds and full-screen illustrations were generated with AI image tools, then selected, edited, composited and animated by me. Voices and music were generated with AI audio tools, then edited and mixed by me. The seven non-English text versions are AI translations. The game does not generate any content while it is being played.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with in-game dialogue, Korean localization, programming, and store-page text and marketing materials. Orbit Foundry does not generate AI content or connect to AI services during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with coding, music, dialogue writing, and texture assets. All content has been reviewed and approved by the developer.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating marketing graphics including the store capsule art, the game title logo, and the application icon.
Some game assets, such as ship and crew images, were created with the help of generative AI tools and subsequently reviewed and edited by the development team.
Pre-generated content only. Some 2D art assets in the game (planet, star and interface sprites) and the store page capsule artwork were produced using generative AI image tools, then edited, composited, colour-corrected and integrated by hand. No generative AI runs at runtime and no content is generated live during gameplay. All audio is either licensed under Creative Commons with attribution given in-game, or original.
Used for sound, translation, and some icons
Help in creating images
Generative AI tools were used during the development of the game to assist with creating parts of the game. AI was used as a development aid, while the final content and implementation were reviewed and integrated by the developer.
Art, sound, text and code
AI image generation was used to create the logo, library assets and achievement assets for the game.
Astro Inc currently uses some AI-assisted assets during development. As we get more support, we plan to replace more of these with human-authored assets.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating some visual assets, audio, and other game content. All AI-assisted content included in the final game was reviewed and selected by the developer.
Salvage Inc. was designed, developed, and assembled by a human developer. Generative AI tools were used to assist in the creation of some game assets, including certain visual and audio elements.
Specifically: pre-generated content (narrative/UI text and the audio click effect), not live-generated (nothing in your game runs AI at runtime).
Ping Pong Attack: The Return of the Pong contains pre-generated AI-assisted content created during development. Certain background music tracks were generated using Suno while Tedesen Pty Ltd held an active paid subscription granting commercial-use rights. Certain pre-rendered cinematic videos and visual assets were created using DaVinci AI while Tedesen Pty Ltd held an active paid subscription permitting commercial use. All included assets were selected, reviewed, edited and integrated into the game by Tedesen Pty Ltd. No generative AI services operate while the game is running, and players cannot create or submit AI-generated content through the game.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation and iteration of certain visual assets, artwork, and promotional/store materials for Magic Cursor. AI tools were also used as development assistance for portions of the code. All final content was reviewed, selected, edited where necessary, and integrated by the developer. No AI-generated content is created while the application is running.
IA used for localization
Designed and directed by one person. Every ship, station and planet is rendered in code, with no AI images. The soundtrack was made with Suno, an AI music tool, directed by the developer, and ships as fixed audio files. The story comes from the developer. AI helped turn it into text, tidy it up and translate the store page, like a very overqualified spell check. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
As a small development team of just two people, we used generative AI tools in limited cases to assist with the production of certain visual assets and help manage the scope of development. All AI-assisted assets were carefully reviewed, edited, refined, and finalized by us to fit the game's established art style and direction. Generative AI was used as a supporting tool during development, rather than to define the creative direction of the game.
Generative AI was used as a supporting tool during the development of ARUS-1. Some 3D models, textures, and in-game and store artwork were created with these tools, then revised and integrated. No content is generated by AI during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used to create some of the game's visual assets and audio.
Desmarchon currently includes pre-generated AI images for the store page and achievement images, as well as AI-generated promotional artwork and icons, and some text. Everything has been reviewed by a human.
Junkyard Astronauts was developed with substantial help from an AI coding assistant (Claude), directed and reviewed by the developer. Specifically: the game's code was largely written with AI assistance; the 3D models, textures and yard layouts are produced by procedural generator scripts written with AI assistance; the sound effects are built from licensed, human-recorded sound libraries (Sonniss GDC bundles, Kenney) assembled and mixed by scripted tools written with AI assistance; the soundtrack is composed and rendered by a music engine written with AI assistance; parts of the store text and the achievement names were drafted with AI assistance. Everything was reviewed, edited and play-tested by the developer before shipping. No AI service is used during gameplay, and no content is generated at runtime. No AI-generated content imitates a real person or a third party's protected work.
I took inspiration from artwork I purchased and used AI to to create different styles based on my own liking.
