Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
During development, this game uses the following generative AI tools. All generated assets are reviewed, selected, and adjusted by the developer before being incorporated into the game.
Music (BGM): Composed using Suno
Battle animations: Generated using Seedance 2.0
Image assets (characters, backgrounds, etc.): Generated using GPT Image 2.0
Audio/Voice assets: Irodori-TTS (AI text-to-speech service)
All of these are pre-generated content created during development. No AI-generated content is produced at runtime (live) during gameplay.
All content generated by the above tools is licensed for commercial use in accordance with each service's terms of use, and does not infringe upon any third-party copyrights or other intellectual property rights.
This title makes assistive use of generative AI tools in the following areas. All AI-generated outputs are manually reviewed, edited, and curated by the development team before being incorporated as final assets, and we have taken care to ensure that they do not infringe on the rights of third parties. No real-time AI generation occurs during gameplay.[Pre-Rendered Content — AI-Assisted Areas]- Production support for a portion of the in-game visual assets- Production support for a portion of the in-game music (BGM) and sound effects- Translation support for store page localization across supported languages (with human proofreading)[Live Generation]The game does not invoke generative AI in real time at any point during gameplay.
The visual assets, audio, music, in-game text, and store page content of this game were created with the help of generative AI tools. All AI-generated content was reviewed, selected, and assembled by the developer. The game's design, code, and systems were created by the developer.
Game design, code, mechanics, gameplay systems, sprites, and writing are entirely human-made. All AI-generated assets were reviewed, edited, composed, and integrated manually by the developer. No AI content is generated at runtime — every asset is pre-authored and curated.
Generative AI was used in the creation of:
Marketing and store page artwork (capsules, banners, hero, logo)
In-game background art, sprites directions
Music tracks
!! AI translations only !!
Explanation:
As an indie developer, I want my game to be accessible to as many players around the world as possible. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to hire professional translators for every language I would like to support.
In the past, developers often relied on tools like Google Translate to make their games available in more languages. Today, AI translation is another option, and it can produce better results than traditional machine translation.
Everything else in the game, including the original text, artwork, sounds, music, game design and code, was created by humans. AI is used only for translation.
AI tools were used during development for assistance with programming and creation of promotional visual assets.
AI-assisted code generation was used to help implement gameplay systems and scripting within the Godot engine. All code was reviewed, integrated, and tested by the developer.
Generative AI was also used to create certain marketing and promotional images used in trailers and store presentation materials. No AI-generated assets are included directly in gameplay.
Some promotional artwork and store graphic backgrounds may include AI-assisted elements. The core gameplay, UI, ships, enemies, mechanics, systems and visual identity are created and edited by the developer using original game assets.
Generative AI was used strictly as an assistive tool during development. It was utilized to help debug code, optimize scripts, and generate minor background visual elements. All core gameplay mechanics, main graphics, story, and game design were created entirely by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used exclusively to assist in the creation of background ambient audio tracks. All code, environmental concept art, and level design were hand-crafted without the use of generative AI.
The things the player sees are mostly made manually by humans. But some visuals, like a couple of seamless textures that are used in the environment, were AI-generated and then modified by hand. AI was used to boost productivity generally, so it was used in a lot of workflows here and there to be finish tasks faster.
Some promotional artwork, store capsule images, and marketing visuals were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer. The game itself does not generate new AI content during gameplay.
During the development of Super Monsterdoom, generative AI tools were used to support text creation, visual exploration, and mechanical iteration. As a solo developer, these tools were key to accelerating and expanding the process, but every final asset, text, and design decision went through extensive human editing, refinement, and hands-on work.
We begin by defining detailed character backgrounds, which are then transformed into base concept art using generative AI. Subsequently, we perform local editing, detailed repainting, and textural refinement on these images to ensure every asset meets our specific design requirements.
Some marketing artwork on this store page (capsule images, library hero, page background) was generated with AI image tools and then composited with vector-rendered typography. No AI-generated content ships inside the game itself. All player names, team names, draft classes, and simulation outcomes are produced by procedural algorithms with a seeded random number generator, not by AI models.
- Code was written with Assistance of Anthropic Claude Code
- Character Portraits were created with Google Gemini
- Other Art Assets and Sound Effects were created using Python (matplotlib, wave)
AI was used during development to help fix scripting errors and improve development efficiency. No AI was used in the creation of the game’s levels, menus, UI, or graphic designs.
Since our artistic skills don't quite allow us to realize everything we have in mind, we use AI to create some visuals, but we also try to edit them so as not to degrade the gaming experience.
The game itself is made entirely by human hands. All in-game art, music, sound design, and writing are created or directed by human authors without generative AI. All gameplay footage shown on this store page is real, captured from the actual game.
Generative AI is used for some marketing materials — including promotional images, social media assets, and capsule art — to support a small independent studio's marketing within budget constraints. These AI-generated images are intended to represent the game's existing hand-made art style.
No AI-generated content is shipped inside the game itself. If Echo Pandemic recovers its development costs, capsule images and marketing material will be replaced with commissioned human work.
Generative AI was used to create a small number of pre-rendered images used in optional easter eggs and hidden content. The core gameplay, programming, design, and the majority of the game’s assets were created manually by the developer. The game does not use real-time AI-generated content or AI-driven gameplay systems.
I use ElevenLabs to create sound effects as well as the voice changing effects. I recorded the lines in the game and used ElevenLabs to alter my voice into the characters you will here in this game. The main character Mesh, some interactable mesh's as well as the main entity within this game were initially generated in MeshyAI and edited by myself in Blender.
1. The game code was pre-generated by AI in an IDE tool and then manually reviewed.
2. Some sound effects and music were generated as MIDI files from a large language model and then manually modified in music editing software.
3. Art assets were initially generated by online AI. All generated images were manually selected and modified to ensure they conformed to the overall art style of the game.
This game includes some visual and audio contents created with the assistance of generative A.I. All content included in the final release was curated, edited, and integrated by the developer as part of the creative process. The game engine and logic is 100% human created.
This game uses generative AI to create live in-game dialogue, AI character responses, personality details, and evaluation feedback during gameplay. The generated content is text-based and is produced dynamically through an external AI API.
This game includes the use of generative AI tools in the creation of certain visual and audio elements. All content has been curated and integrated by the developer to ensure a cohesive artistic experience.
During the development of this game, artificial intelligence tools were used to assist with various aspects of production, including the creation of the store artwork, menu graphics, team crest images, parts of the C# programming, music composition, and the generation and refinement of game ideas.
As an independent developer, I work alone on every aspect of this project. For quite some time, I have used tools such as ChatGPT and Codex to support my workflow, helping me increase productivity and allowing me to dedicate more time to improving the overall game experience.
Despite this technological assistance, all creative decisions, project direction, final implementation, and supervision of every stage of development were carried out by me.
I believe that artificial intelligence is a valuable tool that can help independent developers bring their ideas to life more efficiently. I hope the use of these tools will be seen as part of a modern development process rather than as a deciding factor in whether or not to purchase the game.
Thank you sincerely for your understanding, your interest in the project, and your support of independent game development.
