Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We used AI in the background of the promotional image, and there is no AI drawing in the game.
It was used for the games main background image, and that is all.
I used AI to generate translations of the game's text elements to ensure a satisfactory English version. The AI did not create or generate anything new compared to what I had manually created.
The AI generates responses to the player's interrogations.
The AI has been instrumental in my game for various purposes, including background music, texture generation, and assisting with design themes.
Cryptic escape used AI generated content for its store's capsules.
Initial localization for non-english languages was done using large language models. The community has improved on that localization immensely. The game itself contains no generative content, with the exception of localization.
AI-generated content was used as a starting point for the store page capsule, some in-game commercial signs, and audio samples for the soundtrack.
This game relies on AI to underpin its procedural image and functionality generation systems (the systems that allow for personalised creatures and their effects).
We deeply value human creators. While we used generative AI to help speed up development, we’re dedicating proceeds from the early access period to commission artists and community members for artwork that will gradually replace it in the game. These assets are limited to non-essential parts of the game and don't affect the core gameplay experience. Our main focus has always been on creating a handcrafted, immersive experience for our players. We appreciate your understanding and continued support!
Certain decorative elements within the game have been generated using generative AI.
Game textures
This game uses AI to generate text, game mechanics, images, and sound effects on the fly based on the player's world description. Some in-world interactions are also powered by an LLM in real time.
Generative AI was only used to create image references during the creation of promotionnal artworks : The main promotional artwork shows a hallway where the pillars and the lights are arranged to form the word : DON'T. The artist who drew these promotional artworks used generative AI to get reference images on how to integrate text with natural elements of a scene so that the elements of the scene seems to be forming letters. The final artwork is purely derivative and original and was made by the artist from zero, with the help of the AI generated images as inspiration for placing the letters on the final drawing.
AI was used to assist in writing scripts for the game logic.
The game does not contain any AI-generated content in real-time, but it does feature music produced using AI. The game's music was created through suno.ai, where I am a paying member. The website assures that paying members have the right to use the generated music for commercial purposes. In terms of images, the game uses a picture of a dog in a suit that is AI-generated. For the shop interface, all images related to appearances are also AI-generated. The AI images were created on https://www.artbreeder.com, and I am a paid member of that website.
I use AI to generate inventory menu icons for my demo
AI art was used to draw the professional character avatars, but the original AI content will be replaced later with the update.
AI was used to generate the game translations, and the store translations (in combination with human efforts guarantee consistency and clarity).
We use AI to voice some characters that are similar to AI in order to emphasize their artificiality.
I used AI to generate some textures for backgrounds and images for the UI, which I then manually processed and refined.
Some of the backgrounds in a few levels are based on images created with AI, as well as a few props in the levels. They were only used as a basis to start from and have been heavily edited manually afterwards to make them fit with the rest of the game's pixel art artstyle.
This game involves localization works (Russian, Korean) generated from GPT.
This game currently features AI-generated voiceovers to bring its characters and story to life. As a solo developer working on my first project, this was the most feasible option during development. A post-release roadmap will be published, where I plan to transition to fully voiced lines by real voice actors as soon as resources allow.
Part of the screen is assisted by AI
Unyha uses AI to generate stories about the players' characters, their heirlooms, and the world.
Voice-over for NPCs.
We utilized AI art generation for some marketing material. No AI art is used in-game.
I used AI as a base translations to languages other than English, Spanish, Catalan. I believe it's better AI translation than no translation. Also used AI to generate the images of the relics.
Planet surface images and some other 2D assets are AI-generated
Yes, we use AI to generate pre-rendered content for our game. Specifically, we utilized DALL-E to create some of the splash screens and story backdrops featured in the game.
AI was used for grammar support and translations into other languages. All in-game content is either developer-made or licensed from purchased assets.
For the beta test, the user will be able to interact (chat) with AI Characters with personalities they can customize themselves!
During development process, we may use procedural and AI-based tools to assist with art content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team. We prioritize the most ethical AI sources as possible.
Icons were generated using AI.
In-game settler busts and some concepts of planets are generated with self-trained generative image techniques. Some ideas for flavor text of settlers, planets and/or artifacts were created with the help of NLP technologies. (only for idea and concept generation, not for text)
The Maze on the Cover was generated with A.I.
AI was used to generate store page images and in-game loading screens including the logo. AI was also used to revise some dialogue.
Character portraits were made using AI. The two paintings in the main menu in the background are also AI generated. Intro movie contains AI images.
AI was used to help with code, writing, and visuals since the project was made on an extremely small budget.
d-id was used to generate the game's cutcine videos.
Our game leverages sophisticated artificial intelligence to create an immersive and unpredictable gameplay experience. Each citizen is powered by AI, enabling them to exhibit distinct personalities, react dynamically to player actions, and contribute uniquely to the mystery. This AI integration not only enhances the realism of the city environment but also ensures that no two playthroughs are the same, providing a fresh challenge every time.
We use AI in creation of some images of our game and in our Community Items. For example the infamous "Sinner Santa", owes it's image to the AI.
Alle Sätze der Sprecher im Spiel sind mit einer Text to Speech Software KI generiert.
Some sprites in game were created with the use of AI.
AI is used to generate text for some specific NPCs with non-interactive dialogue.
Generative AI is used for translations into languages I do not master and to create early 3D model prototypes. These prototypes are manually refined before being integrated into the game. No generative AI is used during gameplay or to dynamically generate in-game content.
We have used open source LLMs trained on our game's lore and dialogue to generate quests. We have used our own private NeRF systems to generate some 3D models. Some of our marketing materials, game icons, and concept art was generated using art we had designers create under contract for this game. That art was used to train an open source generative system.
Some object textures are AI generated to apparently look AI generated as a commentary, distorted and non human (dreamtexture plugin for Blender with prompts like "AI looking alien food" and such. Pictures of faces have been generated with this-person-does-not-exist.com to look like conventionnaly beautiful but generic portraits, again foreshadowing the idea what a person looks like, from an AI, algorithmically driven system.
AI is used to generate some images and voice lines for the game.
