Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI tools were used to generate a small number of character portraits, sprite drafts, and some sound effect assets during development. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team.
Some 2D graphic assets in this game, including character concept art and background images, were pre-rendered using generative AI tools. These AI-generated assets were then manually edited, refined, and optimized by the developer to fit the game's specific space theme and pixel art aesthetic.
As a solo developer, I used AI tools as a foundation to expand the game's scope, manually refining and finalizing every asset to ensure the final result is a high-quality, handcrafted experience.
Heart Duels is a solo-developed game. I use AI-assisted tools for some art and audio. All assets are curated and integrated by me to create a cohesive experience.
AI was used as a support tool across various aspects of development, particularly to assist with visuals and animations. The goal is not to replace human work, but to allow creative efforts to be focused where they matter most, ensuring the highest possible quality for the final game.
This game uses generative AI tools in a limited capacity:
🎨 Marketing & Concept Materials: Some marketing materials, store page assets, and early concept visuals were created or refined using generative AI tools during development.
All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and approved by the development team before publication.
Gridholm uses AI-generated imagery for its card art, champion portraits, and 3D models. As the sole developer, it's how I bring a full 250+ card game to life with a cohesive, painterly dark-fantasy look.
Some sound effects and voice related audio assets were created or assisted using generative AI tools. These assets are used as part of the game's horror atmosphere and enemy audio design. The game does not generate AI content in real time during gameplay.
Some visual assets in this game (including the main menu background and Steam store page capsule images) were created using generative AI tools (Google Gemini). All AI-generated content was pre-rendered during development and reviewed by the developer. The game does not use any AI generation during gameplay — all assets are static and packaged with the game.
This game's development used generative AI in three specific areas:
1. Source code: Portions of the source code were authored with assistance from large language model (LLM) coding tools.
2. Localization: In-game text translations for 10 languages (English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Italian) were generated
using LLM-based tools from the original Japanese source text.
3. Visual assets (UI graphics and logo): Generative AI was used in some cases to assist with creating certain in-game UI icons and the game logo. These AI-assisted assets are limited to generic UI elements
(icons, indicators) and abstract logo designs, and do not depict real-world characters, brands, or copyrighted materials.
This game uses AI tools to help assist in the development process. To ensure a high-quality experience, all element has been manually reviewed and refined by our development team to meet our creative standards and Steam's community guidelines.
Flux Tower Defense uses generative AI in the following development areas:
• Store page artwork: Main, header, library, small, and vertical capsule images, library hero, library header, and page background were created using AI image generation tools with human direction, prompt iteration, and post-processing. The "FLUX TOWER DEFENSE" wordmark typography was added manually.
• Achievement icons: The 20 in-game achievement icons were generated with AI image tools using hand-authored prompts and manually curated selections.
• Localization: Non-English store page descriptions were translated with AI assistance and reviewed before publication.
The game's runtime contains NO generative AI. All gameplay systems (towers, enemies, traps, waves, pathfinding, damage, upgrades), UI, and in-game visuals are deterministic code rendered live via HTML5 Canvas 2D. There are no pre-rendered sprites, no AI-generated game content, and no AI inference during play.
This game was made available in many languages thanks to generative AI. Creation of some assets was performed or aided by generative AI tools.
If you ever beat an open-world game, you probably used more power than was used to generate all the assets in this game, including the ones that went unused. If you 100%'d that game, you used much, much more.
Some visual assets in Triad were created with the assistance of AI tools and further refined by the developer.
Triad is a solo-developed project, and these tools helped make its creation possible.

- Visual art: A portion of the pixel-art tiles and select character sprites were generated using PixelLab AI (pixellab.ai), then composited, edited, and integrated by the developer.
- Audio: Background music tracks were generated with AI music tools, then exported and sequenced into the game.
- Code & narrative writing: Game code and the in-game chronicler text (Brom's journal entries) were drafted with AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude) and edited by the developer.
Generative AI tools are used to translate text into different languages and to create visual assets. All content is reviewed and manually edited before being included in the game.
In Us is developed by a small independent studio in Japan. We incorporate generative AI tools into our development pipeline to assist in the creation of certain art assets. However, every asset included in the final game is reviewed, refined, and finalized by our human artists. No asset exists in the game without human authorship.
We chose to disclose this openly because players deserve to know how the games they play are made. We understand the concerns the creative community has about generative AI, and we are committed to keeping human craft at the center of our work — both now and in everything we make in the future.
Some pre-generated visual assets used for the Steam store page and promotional materials were created with the assistance of generative AI. No live-generated AI content is used during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services while running.
As a solo developer, I used generative AI tools to assist with certain parts of development, including the creation of some visual assets.
All generated content has been carefully reviewed, adjusted, and manually integrated to ensure artistic consistency, and overall game quality.
No AI generated content is produced in real time during gameplay.
Some music tracks in Gridhammer were composed using AI music generation tools (Suno). All other game content including artwork, writing, and game design is human-created.
During development, AI-assisted tools may have been used in a limited role for tasks such as concept support and writing assistance. These tools were used only to assist the development process. All final content choices, editing, implementation, and creative direction were carried out by the solo developer. The game does not include live-generated AI content during runtime.
Some 2D artwork (concept art, item icons, environmental textures)
in this game was created with the assistance of generative AI tools,
then reviewed and edited by our art team before inclusion in the game.
All gameplay code, design, music, and sound effects were created by humans.

I have used the help of AI for some of the levels design, drafts of the bosses and other parts of the game design. Also part of the data models I have had help from AI to implement them.
Generative AI was used during the pre-production phase to create and refine visual concepts, character designs (including enemies and the protagonist), and environmental assets. All AI-generated content was further edited and processed by the developer to fit the game's unique pixel-art constructivist style. No AI content is generated live during gameplay.
Smoke Town utilizes artificial intelligence in the following areas:
We only use AI-generated content in our game as reference material for backgrounds, which are then refined and reviewed by humans. And also for interface translations.
All AI-generated content has been human-reviewed and refined for quality and technical integration.
Some visual assets in the game and store materials were created or assisted using generative AI tools and have been reviewed, refined, and integrated by the developer.
Shatterhold uses AI-generated art for environmental paintings, creature portraits, and music tracks. All gameplay mechanics, code, and game design are human-directed.
