Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some promotional images for Pigmen’s Challenge, including store page artwork and certain non-gameplay visual materials, were created with the assistance of AI tools.
AI is not used during gameplay. The game does not use AI to generate gameplay, logic, systems, dialogue, characters, levels, or any interactive player-facing content in real time.
All AI-assisted materials were reviewed and edited by the developer before being used.
The only AI-assisted elements are the background music and a small number of app-style icons used in the UI, all created during development and included as fixed assets.
We utilized generative AI tools to assist our human artists in the creation of certain graphic assets for the game. This primarily includes generating base concepts, textures, and background elements.
Environment tiles are assisted by AI tools to support the game’s art development. We intend to get rid of this IA asset as soon as possible. All gameplay and player content is fully created and controlled by the developers
Some minor 2D assets, such as item icons, were created with the assistance of AI tools and later manually edited. All final assets used in the game are fixed, reviewed, and do not generate content during gameplay.
I design all core algorithms myself, and AI is used only to help write code snippets and to produce some pre-rendered promotional assets such as images. All outputs are reviewed and manually integrated into the project. AI is not used to generate any in-game content or real-time code during gameplay.
Before I get into this, I'd like to say that I am a professional game designer, writer, sprite artist, video animator, music producer, and audio engineer. I worked in the industry for a number of years, and deciding on whether or not to use gen AI was not something I took lightly. I know there are a lot of feelings about this right now, and I understand why a lot of people are hurting, but ultimately, I felt that it enhances the will and talent of the end user. I use programs that claim they are trained on models that own the rights to the content, or are trained on open source materials. This game uses a limited amount of generative AI for content. About 50% of the art assets are generated, then carefully tailored for visual cohesion. Currently, very little animation is done with generative AI, but this could change in the future. The music is 100% human created by Punch Deck. The voiceover is 100% generative AI. Depending on funding, this could change in the future.
In our game development process, we utilize a commercially licensed AI drawing engine to generate character roles by inputting keywords. The creative process does not reference any third-party materials and strictly complies with local laws and regulations. All AI-generated images produced through this method are exclusively owned by our game developers in terms of copyright.
Artificial intelligence tools were used to enhance and refine the capsule artwork for the game's Steam store page, with the final result further edited and finalized manually.
Our game utilizes neural networks for creating visually stunning and immersive environments. AI technology is employed in the production pipeline to assist in rendering backgrounds and character designs, ensuring a unique and high-quality artistic style. While AI aids in the creative process, all generated content is carefully reviewed, refined, and finalized by our team of professional artists to meet the highest standards of originality and quality.
Kosmass incorporates Generative AI specifically for the creation of musical compositions and store page banner artwork. These assets were generated, selected, and refined by me to ensure originality and quality.
The development of this game was handled by a team of just two people. To create a rich and engaging visual novel despite our small size, we used artificial intelligence (AI) as an assistive tool. AI was involved in the initial generation of several elements, including background images, sound effects, and provided a base for editing the character sprites.
Every AI-generated asset was then carefully selected, thoroughly edited, and integrated by us to ensure it fits the game's style and delivers a consistent, high-quality experience. This approach allowed us to bring our idea to life efficiently.
Warvox uses AI-generated artwork only for promotional images on the Steam store page.
The game itself does not use generative AI for gameplay, visuals, characters, environments, quests, dialogue, audio, or story content. All in-game assets, systems, and content are created and authored by the development team.
Any AI referenced within gameplay refers solely to traditional, non-generative game AI systems such as enemy behavior, combat logic, pathfinding, and decision-making. These systems do not generate new content and do not modify player-facing assets.
No generative AI alters player content, visuals, progression, or narrative during gameplay.
We use AI tools to support various parts of our development process:
Coding assistance: AI helps streamline parts of the game development by suggesting or optimizing code.
Concept art: We collaborate with our artists to generate AI-assisted concept art, allowing us to iterate faster during early visual development.
Marketing: Occasionally, we use AI tools in combination with our VFX and music teams to create promotional videos.
Voice acting: We use AI-generated sample lines to guide voice actors during recording sessions and provide reference tone and pacing.
We use AI to generate the music you hear in the trailer(s), and have used it to refine our descriptions of the game as you see on Steam. Occasionally we may use AI to assist us in coding the game, or completely write parts of code for our game. However, during gameplay there are no parts of AI used, what you see in the game when it comes to art, 3D-models, effects, etc., is made manually without AI, with the exception being parts of the code.
As a solo developer, I use Generative AI in limited, clearly defined ways during the development of Anomaly Island.
This includes:
Assisting in the creation of certain UI elements
Helping with coding learning and a small number of the sound effects
Generating quick previews of marketing materials via in-game screenshots lightly animated into short clips for promotional use
All AI-assisted marketing assets are explicitly labeled and further edited or composited using traditional tools, such as Adobe After Effects.
All unlabeled images, screenshots, and videos shown on this Steam page or in official trailers are directly captured from real in-engine gameplay with no generative AI manipulation.
No environments, models, animations, gameplay systems, level design, or narrative content are AI-generated.
This game features pre-generated visual assets and 3D models created with the help of generative AI during the development process. These assets are fully integrated into the game files, and no AI generation occurs in real-time during gameplay."
AI generated images have been used as reference images. All generated images have been either very heavily modified or fully redrawn by artists before.
Generative artificial intelligence tools were used in a limited capacity during development to assist with asset creation and efficiency. In-game content and materials were manually reviewed, refined, and finalized by the developer.
AI tools were used to generate content for both the game and its store presence. Specifically, AI was used to create marketing materials and capsule images for the store page. In-game, AI was utilized to create visual assets for units and buildings, as well as video elements for the studio intro and the main menu.
