Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI was used for grammar support and translations into other languages. All in-game content is either developer-made or licensed from purchased assets.
Language translations, except for Russian, were done using neural networks. The playing cards in "Koschuny" were created with the help of a neural network. The game cover on Steam was partially created by a neural network and touched up by an artist.
We use a picture ai like Midjourney to generate pictures. We use those picture to combine them with each other in after effects or davinci and then we animate them and put them into our Cards
Partial image assets are generated using AI assistance
AI generated images for ability screen and main menu and some item icons like fish, bear coat, potions etc.
Character and hero images are generated as placeholders and we are in the process of hiring artists to replace the art. 100% of the game's profit goes to replacing AI art. Currently >50% of art is already replaced (non-AI).
We only use parts of AI-generated voice-overs – the voice samples come from recordings of our developers working on the game.
We are using artist assisted AI. In that the artist draws and designs the characters and than the AI will help to polish and clean up the drawing up. That enables us to have a fast turnaround for many characters.
Yes. We are using AI power in our UI elements.
We have used AI generative for two images. first was in the main menu, second was in the end of the game.
AI was used a bit for 2D artwork.
Some voice acting is generated using AI models trained on professional voice actors who have given their consent and are being compensated for their work.
The game's card illustrations are a blend of AI-generated and manually restored images. Certain game backgrounds, used for scenes and events, are a mix of AI-generated and manually restored designs.
AI was used to generate store page images and in-game loading screens including the logo. AI was also used to revise some dialogue.
Some visual assets and promotional materials for Rimal were created or enhanced using generative AI tools during development. All gameplay mechanics, progression systems, and core game logic are fully designed and controlled by the development team. No AI-generated content is created dynamically during gameplay.
I've used AI to help with spell checks / grammer and voice over in the trailer.
Art and Music was generated by AI. Please note that we want to respect artists. No artist name or artist art have been used as reference for prompting. And the art used is very generic and doesn't not infringe any IP.
I am using AI for the NPC and narrator voice. Also some NPC portraits, and a few other 2D elements. Also some of the store assets like the box art.
The two pieces of music and three mini visuals used in the game were created using artificial intelligence. All other visuals were hand-drawn, and all music was composed by musicians.
Partial of cards adopted AI generated textures.
1001 Nights is a story-crafting game that started development as early as 2020, exploring creative narrative gameplay to bring players novel experiences they've never had before: telling stories and turning those stories into reality. All traditional game art assets are hand-crafted by our talented human artists. This includes character illustrations, scene models, UI elements, and all visual components that form the core aesthetic of our game. The game features an adaptive LLM-based storytelling system that responds to your unique inputs based on a language model called Qwen. Our narrative engine draws from the rich tradition of Persian folklore and our original hand-written story frameworks by paid writers, then dynamically adapts these materials to create personalized experiences based on your inputs. Each playthrough becomes a unique collaboration between you and our narrative system. Our guiding principle has always been to create gaming experiences that were previously impossible - where technology serves as a creative collaborator rather than a replacement for human imagination. The soul of 1001 Nights comes from our human creators, inspired by ancient Persian folklore and brought to life through innovative narrative systems. For technical details about our implementation and the academic research behind our systems, please refer to the in-game introduction, and our published papers available on our official website. We're a small indie team committed to pushing the boundaries of interactive storytelling while respecting both player creativity and artistic integrity. We welcome any questions or feedback about our creative process via adaeden1001[at]gmail[dot]com or through our Discord community. Your input helps us continue improving this unique storytelling experience.
I have used AI art generation for some of the game's assets.
Some elements of the images were textured using AI.
Visual art
A few background concepts were generated with AI that retains respect to artist copyright (Adobe Firefly) but we are still working on reworking these few instances with our art team!
For the MVP of the Development version of the game 3D models, 2D sprites, sound and music are part wise AI generated. These assets will not be used for the release of the game but instead replaced by human-made assets.
Use for produce novel images.
Use AI to render some promotional images
In some of the game's cutscenes, we have used AI tools to generate several images to help present the story. These images have been edited and refined to enhance the player's visual experience. We are committed to providing rich content for our players and will continue to leverage innovative technologies to improve the overall game experience.
The images in this game are AI-generated.
Core design elements including units, animations, visual effects and sound effects were all created by real artists. AI tools were used solely for supporting assets like background images, portraits, buttons, and background music. These AI-generated assets were subsequently modified by our team. This approach enabled our three-person team to concentrate on core design and game mechanics.
During development we use AI assistance in certain tasks, such as upscaling in-game assets to higher detail versions. An example would be creating higher detail 2D UI portraits for NPCs in their in-game environment from the in-game art. All original artwork and the final creative vision come from our development team. The game has optional computer generated voice overs.
AI-generated character illustrations.
We have integrated AI technology into our art production workflow. While AI is utilized, we have also used extensive hand drawing, editing, and post-processing in our workflow.
Hero art was generated using ai.

What This Means The AI tools we use are employed to assist in creating and enhancing visual elements, such as concept art, textures, and design prototypes. All AI-generated assets are thoroughly reviewed and, in most cases, modified by our team of designers and artists to ensure they align with our creative vision and meet our quality standards. Why We Use AI The integration of AI in our creative workflow allows us to: Experiment with innovative visual styles and ideas. Speed up the iteration process, enabling us to focus more on delivering a polished and engaging experience to you. Expand our ability to create a wide range of high-quality assets efficiently. Additionally, we ensure that all AI-generated assets comply with intellectual property guidelines and ethical standards.
I Had A Plan! uses human-made sprites and assets, but uses AI to transform voices for most (non narrator/GM) characters. These were still recorded by the developer, but then transformed to sound like other people using AI. AI was also used to lip sync those voices.
Some character illustrations use AI-generated art assets, which have been modified by hand.
In this game Akpala, there is a feature that allows players to converse with NPC characters during gameplay. For the responses to the player's voice input, we use AI-generated text.
AI has been used to generate some icons and backgrounds.
Due to budget constraints, some graphics in the game, such as the main interface and event images within events, are AI pre-generated.
The game includes some temporary AI-generated content (such as images, sounds, or graphical elements) used solely to speed up the development process. All of these assets are provisional and will be progressively replaced with original materials as the project advances.
AI used for current page artwork ONLY. None is used in game.
Some of the story texts are AI-translated from Japanese.
Some cutscenes and the game title are AI-generated images.
Temporary Artworks and Music
Some in-game interface images were created through known image AIs. All AI running outside the game interface is programmed by Vawraek Technology.
Most art in the game is AI generated then edited.
