Generative AI has been utilized to assist in content development, including 3d modeling and icon generation.
In development and early prototyping, Rankbreaker used some generative art assets. These are being actively replaced with original work created by professional artists, and this transition is already underway. Current contributions include: Leonardo Veronesi: Disruptors “Void,” “Raven,” “Recoil,” and character card “Axl Rydell” Samuele Colombini: Character cards “Bloodthirst,” “Ironjaw,” “Riff the Cat,” and “Stonewhal” Richard Kessler: Location art “Deadspace,” “Sepulcher,” and “The Arc” All generative assets are being phased out in favor of fully original artwork as development continues.
This game was developed with the assistance of AI tools during certain stages of production. These tools were used to support and enhance the creative process, while all final content was curated and integrated by the developer. Programming Support: AI-assisted tools were used to help prototype and refine parts of the game logic and structure. Image Generation: Some visual assets were created or enhanced using AI image generation, followed by manual selection and adjustments. Music Generation: Portions of the soundtrack were generated with AI tools and further refined to match the game's atmosphere. Text Generation: AI was used to assist in drafting and polishing certain in-game text and descriptions. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and adapted to ensure consistency with the game’s design and artistic direction.

We use Ai-generated Character Concept
UI and Logo
Like most AAA games, my game was developed with the assistance of Generative AI.
Generative AI was used to create the 2D promotional artwork for the Steam store page (including the capsule images, library assets, and marketing GIFs). The AI generated these marketing assets using screenshots of actual in-game pixel art as a direct reference to ensure an accurate representation of the gameplay.
The game does not generate AI-created content dynamically during gameplay. Generative AI tools were used to assist with development. All final content was reviewed, edited, and approved by the developers.
Voices are currently AI generated.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence tools during parts of its development process. AI assistance was used in a limited capacity for implementing certain minor systems and supporting the coding workflow, representing a small portion of the overall codebase. In addition, some visual assets and UI elements were created or enhanced using AI-generated imagery, often combined with manual editing and integration to fit the game’s style and design.
This game uses generative AI for the creation of some graphic and sound assets.
Generative AI was not used to create any in-game content resources. AI was utilized solely for the translation of certain in-game dialogue and external content, such as our Steam page and community posts.
Some visual and audio assets in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure quality and consistency.
wall textures
The game does not contain AI-generated content. AI-generated content is used just for Steam Images.
Some AI involvement in the language editing and visual generation of some areas of the game.
This game provides an option to use simple icon for enemy & card art, or to use AI generated image for them.
Some visual assets, such as UI elements and artwork, were created with the assistance of generative AI and then reviewed, edited, and implemented by the developer. The game does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.
We are using generative AI for first-wave localization and some software implementation (Claude code). We recognize that human artists and programmers take precedence over these tools, and deserve real compensation as opposed to the cheap inferior labor of neural nets.
A pre-generated AI tool was used during development to help create the main menu background image. The final selected image was curated and integrated by the developer. No live AI-generated content is present in gameplay.
Some visual assets and marketing materials for Idle Xanxia were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and refined by the developer.
AI was used as limited support in creating certain elements. All generated content was reviewed and manually adjusted by the developer. There is no AI-generated content during gameplay. All assets used have valid commercial licenses.
Used to help create artwork
This game uses generative AI only during development to upscale certain videos. No AI-generated content is produced in real time during gameplay.
Some of the images in the library, as well as in the store, were generated by AI Some sprites and icons were created with AI
As a solo-indie developer with no budget, sound was provided for the development of the game.
Generative AI was utilized in the creation of the promotional marketing materials and capsule artwork seen on this store page.
This game's art assets, including sprites, UI elements, and visual designs, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. Audio and gameplay programming were developed without AI-generated content. All AI-generated assets have been reviewed and curated by the developer.
Some in-game 3D assets were created using AI-assisted tools and have been reviewed and modified by the developer before being included in the game.
Hellforged utilizes generative AI for some of the in-game icons.
During development, we may utilize procedural and AI-driven tools to support content creation/ However, the final product will ultimately showcase the creativity and artistic vision of our own development team
Store logo images, in game backstory in English and most French translation used AI and Google Translate and revised by the developer.
Generative AI is used in the creation of some in-game assets such as textures.
AI was used as a coding assistant and for assistance with sprite animation. However none of the art was fully generated by AI. All art, be it music or drawn, was originally created by myself, the sole developer, or from open source creators.
Generative AI was used only during development to create part of the pre-generated content. This includes some marketing materials for the store page, part of the 3D models, as well as music and some sound effects. All such content was reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated manually by the developer before release. The game does not use generative AI at runtime. Story content, gameplay logic, enemy behavior, game balance, and any real-time interaction with the player are created and executed without generative AI.
This game uses AI to generate the background images used in game.
Some graphical elements are made with AI.
Some graphics and music were created using AI, then refined and integrated by me.
Coding in general, as well as some of the illustrations, are created using generative AI.
Non-majorists are using Generative AI in everything from coding, images, audio, etc. to create games with just planning. At least it's a lot better than what I do myself.
This work uses AI as assistance for some translation and code generation. The core game content and experience are designed and created by humans.
This game uses pre-generated AI images for card artwork and character sprites, created with Stable Diffusion. No AI is used to generate content during gameplay.
Some visual assets used in the game's store presence (such as capsule images) were initially generated with the help of AI tools and then significantly modified and refined by the developer. No AI-generated content is used during gameplay. All in-game assets and mechanics are handcrafted.
Building a game of this scale as a solo indie developer is a gigantic quest. To bring this vision to life, I utilized AI to help manage the immense development load. I have used AI to help create placeholder assets as visual guides to get the final look and feel, some initial base assets that have since been modified to be game-ready, and, in some rare cases, game elements that did not require further polishing. I have worked hard to ensure the overall quality is as high as possible, given the limitations with funding, personnel and time. What wasn't made with AI: The core game design, idea and execution. Some of the game code, performance optimizations, final polishing, and most final assets. Additionally, some of the development tools, such as the terrain optimizer/generator, targeting, turret, and explosion systems, have been under development as personal hobby projects for nearly a decade. The game was completely visualized, balanced, play tested, and designed by people (the fun part). What is heavily AI-generated: Audio: The audio concepts and prompts were written by me, generated using AI algorithms, and then manually polished where needed. Real human work was required to orchestrate, mix, time, and fit these audio clips seamlessly into the game. Some textures: In a few rare cases, a generated texture was used "as-is" and did not require any additional post-processing or optimization of any kind (excluding cropping or some basic photoshopping).
Generative AI was sporadically used to create initial references and placeholder assets, which have been or will be replaced with hand-crafted content during production.
