Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI was used to generate the background image for the game's store page capsules and marketing assets
AI technologies were used extensively throughout the development of this game. The vast majority of the game's design, balancing data, art assets, audio assets, programming, and testing were completed with AI assistance.
AI was used to help find bugs, create some art, music, and game content. The game itself was designed and made by humans.
Generative AI tools were utilized during the development process to assist in the creation of certain in-game art assets. Specifically, this includes character portraits, environmental backgrounds, item icons, and foundational visual elements for some of the user interfaces. All initial AI-generated materials have undergone rigorous manual review, selection, and post-production refinement by the developer, ensuring they contain no inappropriate or policy-violating content. The game does not feature any content generated by real-time AI computation.
The game contains a pre-generated localization created using AI
ESTRO Quantum uses generative AI only for some of its 2D/3D visual assets. Card illustrations and cosmetic art (card skins, backdrops, card backs) were created with the help of generative AI image-generation tools, then curated and reviewed by the developer before being included in the game. No AI-generated content is produced live during gameplay; the single-player "AI opponents" are traditional rule-based systems and do not use generative AI.
Generative AI was used to assist with the translation and localization of menu text and interface elements, and to help create graphic assets for the Steam store page. All content was reviewed and approved by the developer before publication.
The game is partly developed with AI, assets and part of the code.
Some artwork, text drafts, and development materials were assisted by generative AI tools and then reviewed or edited by the developer. Core gameplay rules, player progress, purchases, and account-related decisions are not generated by AI during play.
By My Side is developed by a small independent studio, and we use generative AI as part of our content pipeline: - 3D models — many in-game models (crops, props, buildings, devices and characters) are generated with Meshy AI, then adjusted, scaled and integrated by hand. - Music & sound — parts of the soundtrack and sound effects are created with AI audio tools and curated by us. - Localization — translations are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before release. All AI-generated content is reviewed, edited and curated by the developer before it ships. No generative AI runs live during gameplay — everything is pre-generated and fixed.
Generative AI was utilized exclusively during development to assist with writing and optimizing code. The game does not contain any AI-generated art, music, or other in-game assets.
AI was used to assist in producing the in-game user-interface text translations for French, Spanish, German and Italian, which were then reviewed for accuracy. The English and Portuguese text is human-authored. All visual art, sound effects and music in NEON SURGE are generated procedurally by our own code — no AI models were used to create art, audio or gameplay assets.
AI-assisted tools were used during development for store page content creation.
AI-assisted tools were used to create selected graphical assets, concept artwork and marketing materials. All generated content was reviewed, modified and integrated by the developer. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
Azura uses artificial intelligence to accelerate card prototyping, character ideas, and mechanic balancing, always providing creative support. All final content goes through human curation and collaborations with artists, ensuring a visually unique and soulful game.
Some of the visual assets in Iron Ledger, including the game icon and splash/menu artwork, were created with the assistance of generative AI image tools. All AI-assisted assets were reviewed and curated by the developer. No AI-generated content is produced live during gameplay.
This project uses a mix of human-made and AI-assisted content. The majority of visual assets are human-made. Some 3D character models, item models, and textures were generated with the help of AI tools. All animation, audio, music, sound design, and writing are entirely human-made.
Store capsule includes elements generated with AI.
Some visual marketing assets and store page artwork were created or assisted using generative AI tools and were subsequently reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay, and the game does not generate content for players in real time.
We use AI image tools during concept and ideation. Final in-game assets are produced and finished by hand by our artists, with AI-assisted elements reviewed, edited, and approved before release. No content is generated live during gameplay
Assistance in programming ( the programmer can't remember Godot's _unhandled_input(event) syntax even after 5 projects… ). Assistance with text and minor graphic patching.
This game currently uses AI-generated artwork for its Steam capsule images. No AI-generated art is used anywhere in the game itself, including gameplay, environments, UI, or other in-game assets.
This game was developed by a single developer and uses artificial intelligence tools to assist in the creation of images, text, and other content.
AI was used to polish marketing images, localization, some small 3d models and textures.
AI-assisted tools were used during development for text drafting, limited programming assistance, and the creation of certain Steam store page assets, including background imagery used in promotional materials. All gameplay systems, characters, artwork, animations, and final game content were designed, created, implemented, and curated by the development team.
Generative AI was used to assist in writing and editing some of Subsønic's text, including portions of this store page and its marketing copy. The game's visual art is procedurally generated through code (algorithmic, not generative AI), and its music and sound are licensed or procedurally synthesized.
1. Cover art is created in Unreal Engine and photoshop, and has a detail pass on top of it by AI. 2. Localisation on the steam page is translated by AI. 3. Music is generated by AI.
This game was developed by a solo developer with the assistance of generative AI tools in areas including programming logic, visual asset creation, and music and sound effects. Not all content was AI-generated — game design, mechanics, systems, level structure, and overall creative direction were conceived and built by the developer. All AI-assisted content was curated, directed, and refined to serve the game's creative vision.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some Steam store capsule artwork and promotional visual drafts. These AI-assisted images were used only as part of the store page and marketing artwork workflow. All final assets were reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer to make sure they match the game’s visual style and do not contain illegal, infringing, or inappropriate content. The game itself does not use generative AI during gameplay.
Some sound effects and a small number of textures in this game were created with the assistance of AI tools and refined by hand. Subtitle translations across our nine supported languages were generated using AI from the original English voice acting. Voice acting was performed by real people, with AI tools used only for noise reduction and audio mastering. All AI-generated content was curated and finalized by human creators before being included in the game.
AI-generated tools were used in the creation of some marketing artwork, a portion of the user interface elements, and certain audio elements. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated into the game by the developer.
AI used for some inventory items and for images on the game's store page, and edited with a graphics editor.
Some 2D visual assets in Orbsmith — including item icons, enemy artwork, environment backgrounds, UI elements, and store page imagery — were created using generative AI tools as part of an iterative pipeline involving custom prompts, human curation, and post-processing in Photoshop. All gameplay code, game design, mechanics, balancing, item systems, and audio are created by the developer without generative AI. No AI content is generated live during gameplay. All assets are static and shipped with the build.
This game makes use of AI-assisted tools in the creation of certain visual assets. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed, edited, and adapted by the developer to fit the artistic vision of the game.
I complete the insufficient parts of my artwork using artificial intelligence.
All phases of game development
Some Music assets were created with the help of AI tools.
The artwork (character art, backgrounds, and event illustrations), music, and the opening video in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All AI-assisted content is pre-generated during development — not generated live during gameplay — and was reviewed, edited, and arranged by the developer. We have taken care to ensure these outputs do not infringe existing copyrights and contain no illegal content.
AI-generated content is used only during the concept art and asset planning phase to generate initial creative ideas. No AI-generated content is present in the final game.
We will use AI-generated marketing images for our promotional visuals. These will be applied in the following locations: the main promotional banner, vertical promotional banner, library promotional banner, library profile image, and library homepage image on the store page. The original materials are self-created and will be processed with AI for subsequent use. The game includes some UI icons /3D Asset that were initially generated by AI and subsequently edited manually for further application.
Live Play by Play Commentary, 365 Weekly Podcast, and team logos/players/images utilize Elevenlabs (voice) and OpenAI (commentary/images).
AI tools helped making some textures and part of the translations. The game itself runs no AI: nothing is generated while you play, and it never connects to an online service.
Some promotional art assets, such as posters and icons, were created with the assistance of generative AI. These materials are used only for marketing and store presentation purposes.
Pirate Twist is made by a solo developer, and generative AI tools were used across production. Specifically: Art — some in-game visual art and the store capsule art were generated with Higgsfield image models against a fixed art-direction style, then hand-edited by the developer's wife: cut out, composited, colour-matched and retouched before going into the build. Audio — the seven music tracks were generated with Suno (Premier). Sound effects were generated with the ElevenLabs Sound Effects API (Creator). All were then edited, pitch-shifted and mastered by the developer's wife. Code — written with AI coding assistance. No AI runs at runtime. Nothing is generated on your machine while you play, and the game makes no AI service calls during play. Full commissioned art and audio is one of the items on the Roadmap for final release.
Small portion of the game assets such as logos were created by AI. Also AI provided us with assistance during our coding sessions.
Generative AI tools were used during parts of the asset prototyping and ideation process. All final game assets were significantly modified, refined, and curated by the development team before inclusion in the game.
Generative AI was used as a development assistant for pre-release asset iteration, writing support, localization drafts, ideation and productivity tasks. Some visual assets and draft text/assets may have been assisted or iterated with generative AI before being reviewed and integrated into the game. This content is static and does not generate new content at runtime. The game does not use live generative AI to create content during gameplay. No player prompts are sent to an AI service at runtime. AI-assisted material is reviewed manually before inclusion. It is adjusted to match the game's style, naming, tone and technical requirements, and content that would be inappropriate, infringing or inconsistent with the project is not intentionally included.
Logo generated using photo editing generative AI. Music created using AI enabled Music Workflow.
The Store page artwork was enhanced by AI.
Artificial intelligence was used in the trailer’s voice-over. AI was not used during the game’s development
