Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI translation for localization
Artwork (character sprites and backgrounds) was created using generative AI (nanobanana). Some BGM tracks were also created using generative AI (ACE-Step). No AI generates content in real-time during gameplay.
This game uses generative AI to assist with localization and translation between Japanese and English.
Using AI to generate music or UI/UX
Generative AI was used throughout the development process. It was utilized alongside humans to assist with tasks. Notably: debugging, localization, asset creation, and marketing materials. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure quality and consistency.
Some of the artworks, sounds and localizations in the game have been partially or entirely generated with the help of AI. We strongly believe AI will help videogames reach new heights, not kill jobs nor creativity.
Generative AI was not used to create any in-game content resources. AI was utilized solely for the translation of certain in-game dialogue and external content, such as our Steam page and community posts.
The content on this Steam Store page was translated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This game includes some images and text created with the assistance of generative AI.
Exhibit descriptions on the aquarium walls
Some content in Catapulteers was created with the assistance of generative AI tools, including selected in-game textures, models, voice-over, and music. Catapulteers is a handcrafted game made by a small independent team of five developers. We use AI only as one of several production tools to support specific parts of asset creation and iteration. Every AI-assisted element has been reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by our team, and the final creative direction, gameplay, humor, world, systems, and overall experience are fully authored by us.
The hamster character artwork and visual assets used in this game were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools. No AI is used to generate content during gameplay.
We utilize generative artificial intelligence during our development process strictly as an art-assistance tool. Unlockable player avatars, profile badges, and chat emotes were created or conceptualized using AI image generators.
We occasionally used generative AI as an assistive tool to refine certain visual assets, enhance texture resolutions, and process minor audio elements. These tools were used sparingly to support our production workflow, and all final content has been manually reviewed and polished by our team to ensure it meets our quality and legal standards.
This game provides an option to use simple icon for enemy & card art, or to use AI generated image for them.
This game uses AI to create assets(in game assets and steam shop) and vibe coding
AI was only used to generate game code and shader code. Everything else was made by people.
Graphics and sound-related resources
Used to help create artwork
Generative AI was utilized in the creation of the promotional marketing materials and capsule artwork seen on this store page.
This project was developed using advanced AI-assisted tools across visual assets, audio design, and core system implementation, with all elements carefully refined and adjusted to ensure a cohesive and polished gameplay experience.
During development, we may utilize procedural and AI-driven tools to support content creation/ However, the final product will ultimately showcase the creativity and artistic vision of our own development team
The game uses some AI images for placeholder purposes.
Some in-game assets were created using AI-assisted tools during development. All assets have been reviewed, refined, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the game’s visual style and quality standards. No AI-generated content is created or used during gameplay.
Regarding the use of AI, the game scenes images, character designs, and animations of monsters were generated using AI. We will replace these with manually created resources in the official version later
This game uses AI for the generation of some in-game graphic assets, translations, and promotional materials.
The following content is created with generative AI: character portraits, background music, and cover/promo material (hand-made in-game screenshots edited/overpainted with AI-assisted tools). All other content (code, game mechanics, driving physics, 3D assets, sound effects, text, track design, gameplay) is hand-made without AI generation.
Generative AI is used in the creation of some in-game assets such as textures.
We have used generative AI tools to assist in the creation of several game assets, including background music (BGM), environment background images, and various UI elements such as icons and store banners. All AI-generated content has been thoroughly reviewed and refined by our development team to ensure high quality and to confirm that it does not contain any illegal or infringing material. The final assets are integrated into the game as static files and are not generated in real-time during gameplay.
AI Disclosure (Text Content): This game uses generative AI to assist in creating in-game text descriptions, specifically for: Game Concepts & Descriptions: Some fictional game ideas and descriptions within the simulation are pre-generated using AI text models. Manual Oversight: All AI-generated text has been manually reviewed and edited by the developer to ensure it contains no prohibited content and aligns with the game's creative direction. No real-time AI generation occurs during gameplay.
AI tools were used during development to help generate select visual assets and concepts. These assets were reviewed, refined, and integrated into the game by the developer to ensure consistency with the overall style and experience.
AI-generated art objects
Contains some optional AI generated voice samples, using Canva, strictly in order to comply with United States Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA)
AI is used for transcribing voice recordings and for some text-to-speech use cases. Also used for the narrator and parts of the sound suite.
The game's code is written with the help of AI. Every other gameplay aspects and assets, i.e. Art, Audio, etc., is human produced, with love and care sprinkled in.
AI was used to development and map creation for faster development speed.
We use generative AI tools during our development process to assist in the creation of certain visual assets, such as concept art for environments and base textures for some 3D models. All AI-generated content is meticulously refined and integrated by our team to ensure it meets the artistic standards of Quantum Fight: Aero 2299. Our goal is to use these technologies as a support tool to enhance the game's atmosphere while maintaining full creative control over the final experience.
Some pre-generated visual assets in Grimshaw's Blotto were created with the assistance of generative AI during development. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
3D Modeling Tool: Meshy (or Unity Asset store) Giant eye (2D Sprite): Nano Banana
This game includes some AI-generated visual assets, such as certain in-game images and store page artwork like the logo are ai. These assets are used for visual design purposes and do not impact gameplay or player interaction.
Only used for some sound effects.
Some store page assets were edited with AI
Some images used in the library were generated using AI while others will be purchased as we expand the library.
AI-generated content used only for Steam page
Some in-game assets, including certain images, graphics, and 3D meshes, were created or assisted using AI tools.
Generative AI is used to assist coding and for generating code that creates audio files.
This game uses generative AI during development to assist in creating some user interface (UI) icons. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team. Generative AI is not used in gameplay or during the runtime of the game.
This game uses AI-generated artwork for card illustrations, character portraits, arena backgrounds, and UI elements. AI was also used to assist with sound design and animation assets. Game code was developed with AI-assisted programming tools.
I do not use AI to develop the game, all art assets were made by real people. I only used it for the Steam Capsule Image.
AI Content Disclosure (Or: Why Your Eyes Aren't Bleeding) Steam requires me to formally disclose that I used AI tools to help create the visual assets for this game, and honestly, you should be thanking them for it. My personal artistic abilities peak at drawing lopsided stick figures, and if I had to hand-draw the assets myself, this wouldn't be a co-op horror game—it would be a tragedy. To spare you from my awful programmer art, I used Meshy AI to generate the 3D models and Nano Banana Pro to handle the textures. The gameplay, the panic-inducing 90-second timers, and the terrifying undead Grandma mechanics are all me. The art, however, was assisted by AI as a public service to protect your eyeballs.
