Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
review some code and some ideation
AI was used to translate the following languages: -Japanese -Russian -French -Portuguese
Our game is a Visual Novel where the images are completely generated by artificial intelligence, both characters and backgrounds.
MidJourney, NVidia CANVAS, ChatGPT used in development and may or may not appear in final product.
AI assisted with programming. AI assisted with translation.
Some scenery/environment visual elements (map backgrounds) were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development and were later reviewed, edited, and integrated manually by the team. All other game content — characters, UI, icons, gameplay sprites, tilesets, audio and text — was produced without generative AI, using original artwork and/or licensed third-party assets.
Some images, dubbing, text, and some 3D models were partially created using AI tools.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with programming, debugging, localization, and text drafting. Some small UI/icon assets included in the game were also created with generative AI and reviewed by the developer before use. The main visual content of the game uses licensed or manually prepared assets.
The game uses DALL-E to generate card image assets in the game
Some (not all) icons were generated with AI.
All game works are either original hand-made works that we own, or they were AI-assisted and redrawn or touched up by hand. Our trailers were also AI-assisted with original works we own to enhance their quality. All AI voices were trained on licensed material that has commercial rights to use or that we own and were manually directed by the developer.
We want to be transparent about our use of AI: AI is used for: assisting with code development (debugging, refactoring, technical guidance during programming sessions). AI is NOT used for: the story, the dialogue, the music, the illustrations, the character designs, or any creative content. A Piano Tale is a deeply personal project, and its soul comes entirely from human hands.
Pregenerated arts
Stories, 2D prop assets, 3D prop assets
We produce most of the illustrations and videos, but some images (photos, frames) that appear in the game include AI illustrations.
Generative AI tools were used during the development process in the following areas: 3D Assets & Texturing: We utilized tools such as ChatGPT and Grok to generate visual references and base textures. These references were then used in conjunction with Meshy.ai to assist in the creation of 3D models and their corresponding textures. Code & Programming: An AI-based coding assistant was used to help write, refactor, and optimize the game's GDScript logic, including character movement, interaction systems, and UI components. All AI-generated elements have been reviewed, integrated, and refined by the development team to ensure a high-quality experience for players.
Some translations and text are AI generated
The translation of this version was created with the help of AI. The game’s story, original writing, artwork, and music were created by hand by the author in 2018.
AI have been used to create images and generate sounds to the game.
All in-game voice lines were created using text-to-speech tools.
The store page capsule image (cover art) was generated using AI.
How we use artificial intelligence: Some creative assets in Slash The Tower were created with the help of generative AI. Art and music were produced using Google Gemini (AI-assisted generation). Those assets are pre-made and shipped with the game—they are not generated live while you play. Game code and parts of the user interface were developed with assistance from Cursor (an AI-enabled editor) together with Unity. That means design and implementation were guided by us as developers, with AI helping draft or refine code and UI-related work—not replacing human creative direction for the whole game. We do not use generative AI to create personalized or real-time content for each player session beyond what is described above. If we add AI-generated material to the Steam store page, community hubs, or marketing, we will treat it the same way: clearly labeled and consistent with this approach.
As a small indie team, we may use procedural and/or AI-based tools to assist with the development process. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Human Error utilizes cloud based generative AI to power the dialogue and interrogation systems of its robotic characters. During the Debrief Session, an integrated model generates text responses based on your performance metrics in the preceding tasks. This technology is used to create dynamic, unscripted confrontations where the machines analyze your behavior and react to your input in real time. The game generates text-based dialogue during the social deduction phase. This content is created in real time using your performance data (movement patterns, task efficiency, and error logs). This process requires an active internet connection to communicate with our cloud hosted AI systems. We have implemented guardrails to ensure the AI remains within the thematic boundaries of the game. To maintain high quality interactions and manage operational costs, gameplay is limited to 25 games per day per user. This ensures that our cloud-based AI systems remain available and responsive for all players.
This game was developed independently by a solo developer. Generative AI tools were used in a limited capacity during production, specifically to assist with the texturing of certain visual assets and the conception of some written content. All gameplay systems, models, game design, art direction, music, and core creative decisions were made entirely by the developer.
1. Pre-rendered character portraits (bought from 3d party in Unity Asset Store). 2. Pre-rendered achievement icons.
Dialogues in the game are structured with the help of AI tools, and temporary AI voice lines are used to convey the story, dialogue, and drama.
Store page artwork, most in-game assets, and promotional images were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools.
Some development and marketing materials may have been assisted by generative AI during pre-production (concept exploration, references, and drafts). The game does not generate content in real time during gameplay.
We used AI for the game’s language translation descriptions, the Steam capsule image, and some in-game visuals.
During development, generative AI tools were used to assist in creating the following content: Image Assets: Some enemy characters, backgrounds, and scene elements were created with the assistance of AI tools. All images have undergone extensive manual illustration, style integration, and post-processing to ensure consistency with the game's overall art direction. Music & Sound Effects: Prototypes for some background music tracks and ambient sound effects were created with the assistance of AI tools.
As a solo indie developer, I have utilized AI-generated content to assist in the creation of certain assets within the game, including images, audio, and code. Thank you for your understanding and support.
It was used to generate some images of the game's UI.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence for limited artwork assets.
AI tools were used alongside traditional methods to produce visual art and audio. all content was directed, reviewed, and refined by the developer.
All images in the game, as well as on the store page, were generated using AI.
Some 2D Artwork in TV events has a few frames generated by AI. A few TV Events and Radio Event has AI Voice over
Generative Artificial Intelligence tools were used during development to assist in the creation, proofreading, and translation of texts (including the store page and tutorial dialogue), as well as aiding in the ideation and creation of some static 2D visual assets.
Some of the image resources in the game are created using AI-generated art.

AI is used to create Steam page art.
This game was developed with assistance from AI tools. Generative AI was used in the development of store page content and marketing materials. All in-game assets, environments, and gameplay were created using Unreal Engine 5 and licensed asset packs.
Only a few placeholder asset for now to be able to upload the steam page and demo, but the whole game is hand made in pixel art

To make the game world truly vibrant and unpredictable, we turned to modern procedural generation technologies. Some elements were created with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools, allowing us to add more unique content and make each of your adventures one-of-a-kind.
This game used generative AI to create sound effects, music, and the splash screen
This game uses AI only for generating certain graphical elements, illustrations, and translations. All game design decisions, balance, and code are handcrafted
all the pictures are generated by artificial intelligence.
Methodox uses AI-assisted tools during both development and gameplay, with human oversight at every stage. During production, AI tools were used to help generate certain visual assets and explore design concepts. All assets were reviewed, curated, and integrated by human designers. Final artistic direction and implementation were handled by the development team. In gameplay, characters use AI-driven systems to simulate conversation. These systems include multiple safety measures and have been thoroughly tested to help ensure generated content remains appropriate. If you encounter an issue, please report it to our support team at contact@methodox.io so we can review and address it. The team will continue refining and improving gameplay systems and visual assets over time. Thank you for your support!
