Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI is not used in the game, only for marketing materials
Only AI Code was used. - Used to create C# scripts for the following features: floating object direction calculations, boss camera, replacing items in shop interface, porting over attack hitbox logic from laggy events into C# code, lip-sync implementation, online leaderboard send/receive, dynamic button swap with keybind update, proximity interaction UI call implementation, mouse/controller sensitivity options, dropped weapon properties. - Used to create external tools to speed up development: blender plug-ins, web tools to parse and modify event data, python scripts. - Used for debugging purposes.
This game does not use generative AI in real time. Generative models were used only during early development to create draft materials (such as texture sketches, concept art, or music prototypes), which were then manually refined. All final assets are original and fully adapted for the game.
Generative AI is used only during the initial creation of 2D marketing assets, UI icons, and loading screens, which are later manually refined and finalized by the development team.
In-game music and localization were created using AI.
Cinematic and soundtrack
ForgeRun does not use AI to generate gameplay content, code, or behavior during gameplay. All in-game systems, visuals, and logic are manually designed and scripted. However, AI tools were used outside of the game for marketing and support materials, such as assisting with text writing, image concepts, and store page descriptions.
AI-generated content has been used very little in the game: text correction and translation for the Steam page and in-game text. UI generation, which will likely be replaced later with non-AI-created assets. Occasional code corrections, but 90% of the code was written by myself.
Generative AI helped me make this project from start to finish. It helped me write code, organize my work, stay focused, and build the art, sound, and design. Grammarly helped me polish my writing. Claude Code helped me repair code. ChatGPT helped me plan and think through systems and color. The Unity engine brought it all together. There is AI in this project, just as there is in almost every tool we all use today.
Some images are generated with AI.
We use AI to create graphic content.
The cover and library assets for this title include elements generated or enhanced with AI-assisted technology. And also, Character meshes and a few item meshes were generated using AI-assisted tools.
AI generates a few images and icons, reviewed manually.
Some UI icons and store artwork have been AI generated.
This game does not use AI during gameplay. Some visual and audio assets were created with AI assistance during development, but all content in the final game is fixed, manually reviewed, and does not involve any live AI.
Forsaken features artwork developed with generative AI.
AI was used temporarily to prototype some UI elements. These will be refined or replaced during development.
We use music generated by generative AI.
AI was used as a limited production aid. All final content was reviewed and finalized by the developer; no AI content is generated during play; all assets are original or properly licensed.
AI was used to generate some of the graphics, which were then further edited by me (or a family member). All content generated by AI was ultimately always checked and edited before it was added to the game's resources.
As a solo dev, I use AI to generate store contents and backgrounds for the game
Some promo art elements (promo character) and logo for the game were created using AI tools. Also parts of trailer and in-game soundtrack was created using AI-based tools.
Some of the graphics were inspired from AI references
Our game uses AI to assist with localization into multiple languages. AI tools are used to support translation, making the game accessible to a wider audience.
Botwave: Overclock includes content created with the help of generative AI tools, including some in-game visuals, sound effects, and promotional/store artwork. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the developer. The game does not use AI to generate content in real time during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services while playing.
Some of the photos used in the game play have been added by AI generation.
To make Ekoman accessible to more players in their own languages, in-game menus, cutscenes, and store page texts have been translated using artificial intelligence. Please feel free to contact us if you encounter any issues.
This game was developed by a solo developer using AI-assisted tools to support parts of the creative and technical workflow, including marketing materials, store page assets, music, and portions of code. All AI-assisted outputs were reviewed, refined, and integrated by the developer. No AI systems are used to generate content during gameplay.
Our soundtrack was made using AI-assisted tools under full human direction. This allowed us explore a variety of musical styles to express our message through our lyrics about breast cancer awareness.

The background music was made with AI tools.
Much of the enemy graphics were made with the help of generative AI. However, none of them are simply used "as is." Getting the artwork to match Hong Kong 97's SNES graphics requires downscaling resolution and adjusting contrast, saturation etc.
The game logo is partly AI generated. One piece of music is AI generated. The computer voice is mainly AI generated.
My approach to AI is that it's better for a game to come out with graphics drawn by a computer than not at all! I have had about TWENTY projects canceled at different times due to the fault of artists! So I'd rather lose part of an unhappy audience than lose it entirely again by relying on humans! All images created by neural networks are included in an external module and can be disabled or replaced with a custom file via Steam Workshop if desired.
Whilst the game's code is independently created LLM's have been used to assist in bug fix and code suggestions, as well as assistance in the creation of the store page
The game logo and some of the artwork in the store page were created with the assistance of AI.
I used Ai to help improve my typing speed in certain area's. I laid out the entire game design on a whiteboard prior to making the game, and during the development process I used tips for organization of my global variables and other small improvements to my Visual studio file. Wanna know what I used Ai most for? "Hey can you move my art down on the screen by 15 pixels?" XD just so I wouldn't have to edit X-Y values so often. Ai is great at dealing with some of the tedium of programming. :) This is a Human designed and Human made game, Ai just helped me speed along.

The music was generated with AI. The character animations were created by AI based on hand-drawn pixel art. Localization translation was done with AI help.
ARIA‑404: Labyrinth Protocol uses generative AI to create all pre-rendered content, including visuals, voice acting, music, world design, dialogue, & narrative. No AI is used during gameplay. Every element is crafted using a curated blend of AI tools by a solo developer to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling. This approach allows for a mythic, multimedia game experience that will evolve over time with community input.
Game art and music assets are generated with AI.
AI-assisted tools were used during development for select artwork, marketing materials, and for code bug-checking/optimization. All gameplay, design, balance, and core assets were handcrafted by the developer. The game does not use AI to generate content during play.
AI was used only to assist in the creation of the background track "Drift King," present in the currently implemented level, with the intent of replacing it once our team works with a proper composer or sound designer. All remaining game content was fully developed by our indie team.
This game utilizes AI technology to generate some of the background and store images. These AI-generated assets were carefully selected to enhance the overall aesthetic of the game. All AI-based content was created in compliance with legal requirements to prevent copyright infringements.
Promotional arts
This game uses pre-generated AI only for certain 2D background images and promotional store visuals. These assets were created before release and remain fixed. The game does not include any live AI generation during gameplay.
The images of women that appear at the end and in the arch were created with the aid of AI. But the game itself was not. Some other static images may be a mix of parts created with AI and manually.
