Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI is used during development to assist with some character portraits, 3D environment assets, UI elements, narrative polish, and initial localization drafts.
AI-assisted visual content is based on concepts and art direction created by our team and is reviewed, edited, and refined before use. Localization will be reviewed and finalized by a professional localization provider.
Some temporary placeholder visuals currently used in the game were created with the help of AI-assisted image generation tools. These assets are only used during early development and will gradually be replaced with original or professionally refined artwork.
Generative AI was used to create some in-game radio audio, including text-to-speech announcements and background music tracks generated using AI tools.
The game includes generative AI in the form of relatively structured conversation (voice and/or text to prompt) in context with the setting and era of the documented sites (caravanserai) you will visit.
Some store page artwork, promotional images, textures, and visual assets were created using generative AI tools and then edited and finalized by the developer. AI-generated content is used only for visual assets and does not generate content during gameplay.
This game uses AI tools in the following ways:
Music: Composed using Suno.
Code: Written and debugged with AI assistance.
Art: Created with AI assistance.
All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and finalized by the developer.
Pirate Twist is made by a solo developer, and generative AI tools were used across production. Specifically:
Art — some in-game visual art and the store capsule art were generated with Higgsfield image models against a fixed art-direction style, then hand-edited by the developer's wife: cut out, composited, colour-matched and retouched before going into the build.
Audio — the seven music tracks were generated with Suno (Premier). Sound effects were generated with the ElevenLabs Sound Effects API (Creator). All were then edited, pitch-shifted and mastered by the developer's wife.
Code — written with AI coding assistance.
No AI runs at runtime. Nothing is generated on your machine while you play, and the game makes no AI service calls during play.
Full commissioned art and audio is one of the items on the Roadmap for final release.
Generative AI tools were used during parts of the asset prototyping and ideation process. All final game assets were significantly modified, refined, and curated by the development team before inclusion in the game.

Our commitment to craftsmanship:
- Total human control: No element of the final game has been left solely to AI.
- Expert review: Every technical asset or piece of content goes through a rigorous human editing filter.
- Manual work behind everything: Technology only optimizes our delivery times, but there is always genuine craftsmanship behind every asset.
- Guaranteed quality: We use AI to empower our team's capabilities, ensuring the essence and final finish of the game remain 100% human.
Thank you for your constant support!
Luna: Obscura is my creative vision (SOSOROS). I designed and built the game's world, levels, creatures, and visual identity over two years. ANORMIC joined in the final year to handle programming and sound design.
The art on the walls: Every painting and sculpture you encounter inside the base is an original, physical artwork. Acrylics painted by hand, sculptures made by hand, by me. No AI, no prints of someone else's work. They existed in the real world before they existed on the moon.
Cover art: The key art combines in-engine 3D renders, AI-assisted generation trained exclusively on my own handmade artworks and 3D sculpts, and extensive manual overpaint and compositing in Photoshop.
Cinematic sequences: The in-game sequences are hybrids, built from direct in-engine screenshots of our own levels and creatures, extended through AI generation. I'm not an animator, and producing these any other way was beyond the scope of a two-person project. I hope the results speak for themselves.
Sound effects & enemy audio: The vast majority of audio was composed and engineered by ANORMIC. For the game's altered human enemies (lunatics whose minds have been overtaken) we made a deliberate artistic choice to use AI-generated vocal sounds. The result is audio that feels disturbingly human but remains completely incomprehensible. AI voice sits in an uncanny valley, and that's exactly where these creatures live. This was a creative decision, not a compromise.
Remaining environmental assets were licensed through the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
Everything else, the levels, the creatures, the paintings, the world, is human made.
And yes, there's a contradiction here. A statement against AI in art, inside a game that used it. I won't pretend otherwise. These two years were me testing that edge firsthand: I used these tools, learned what they can genuinely do, and somewhere along the way my conscience gave me the answer. Even where the hybrid approach worked, and I think the sequences are an honest use of it, I'd rather learn to rig and animate myself for the next project, even if the result is rougher. I stand with artists, and I'd rather earn my skills than borrow them. Sometimes you have to cross a line to understand exactly where it should be drawn.
Where we stand: We're not against AI. We use it gladly where it belongs: code, tools, concepting aid, the invisible machinery of production, the same way we welcome it in medicine and science. But art is different. As creators whose own work has potentially been scraped to train these models without consent, we understand the weight of this disclosure more than most. Our position for future projects is firm: AI should not be in the end result, and where reality forces a compromise, it must remain a hybrid, grounded in our own hands and our own source material, never a replacement for them. We made honest decisions, we're transparent about every one of them, and we stand behind the result. The goal is simple: just the work.
Some visual assets used in the game were created with the help of generative AI. This includes certain service icons, such as Express Delivery, some NPC purchase icons, such as Cook and Burger Maker, and some burger ingredient images. These AI-generated visuals are used as in-game UI/store assets and item icons.
Finesse uses generative AI tools for select pre-generated content created during development:
- Meshy — 3D model generation for some character and environment assets
- ElevenLabs — voice line generation for in-game audio
- Suno — music track generation for soundtrack and ambient audio
- Anthropic Claude — assistance with in-game text content (descriptions, narrative copy)
All AI-generated content is pre-rendered during development and shipped as static assets. No generative AI runs at runtime; nothing is generated live or unique per player. All AI outputs are reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer before being included in the final game.
Generative AI was not used to create artwork, audio, narrative content, or marketing assets for Dream Abstract. Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with coding and debugging.
About Art Assets
DesktopDaily does not use AI-generated artwork for its in-game art assets. Character designs, 3D models, textures, animations, UI assets, and other visual content are created by human artists or based on properly licensed materials.
About Character Voices and Speech Synthesis
DesktopDaily’s character voice models are trained or fine-tuned using voice materials with clear provenance and authorization, and are used for character speech synthesis at runtime. These voice materials come from publicly available or authorized audio materials provided by the corresponding character or voice provider, and are used in accordance with their usage terms and authorized scope.
The character voices played at runtime are synthesized speech and are not original voice recordings.
About the Use of Generative AI
During development, AI assistance was used for parts of the code implementation and for some non-Chinese UI text localization. At runtime, generative AI is used only in optional features, including the character conversation feature, the visual companion feature, and notification assistant tools.
Some non-Chinese UI text localization uses AI-assisted translation and editing. This is limited to UI text localization and is separate from the runtime generation of character dialogue.
In the optional character conversation feature, AI is used to generate character dialogue text and to synthesize speech based on that text. When this feature is enabled, player input may be sent to cloud AI services in order to generate character-style response text. These responses may also be used for speech synthesis and played back in the game. If the player chooses not to use an API, the character conversation feature will not be enabled, and only the basic features will be available.
In the optional visual companion feature, after the player actively enables the feature, the game may use a local vision-language model to analyze screen, window, or application content within the scope authorized by the player. The analysis results may be used as context for character dialogue, allowing the character to respond based on the player’s current computer usage scenario. This feature is disabled by default. If the analysis results are used in cloud-based character dialogue, necessary summary information may be sent as part of the dialogue context to the cloud AI service selected or configured by the player.
In the optional notification assistant tools, after the player actively enables the feature and grants permission, the game may read Windows system notifications, email summaries, or other information sources specified by the player. A local AI model may be used to filter, categorize, or judge the importance of this information in order to decide whether to notify the player. This feature is intended to assist with notification management, and will not reply to emails, send messages, or perform external actions on behalf of the player. AI-based classification and notification results may be inaccurate.
The official trial API provided by the game uses Alibaba Cloud Model Studio. Players may also configure other APIs themselves. When features that require cloud AI are enabled, the necessary conversation content or contextual information is sent directly to the corresponding cloud AI service and is not relayed through the developer’s own server.
Character dialogue generated by AI at runtime is intended only for everyday companion-style interaction. The game uses prompts, content rules, and safety measures to reduce the output of inappropriate, illegal, hateful, sexual, violent, or copyright-infringing content. AI-generated responses may vary and do not represent official statements by DesktopDaily, the game’s developer, any character rights holder, voice provider, or third-party asset creator.
Dance Floor VR uses some pre-generated AI-assisted content for selected visual assets and music/audio elements. All such content was reviewed and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services.
We use AI to help generate our seamless 3D textures and certain in-game photos. The decision to use AI-generated images was made out of respect for individual privacy, by avoiding using real-life human references, we wanted to ensure no individuals or parties are misrepresented.
This work incorporates the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the following areas:
Parts of the artwork, parts of the sound, and localization.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with development, including code support, store text drafting, and some visual/marketing assets. Final content was reviewed and edited by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used during development to generate background audio tracks, select visual assets, and promotional store page art. All assets were reviewed prior to release. No content is generated in real-time during gameplay.
This game uses AI-generated translation for localization in the following languages: Polish, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Korean, and Japanese.
We have utilized open-source, self-hosted AI tools for our localization process to make the game available to as many players as possible. Additionally, local AI tooling was used during development to assist with codebase navigation and a single instance of asset recovery for a lost legacy logo. No proprietary or cloud-based AI services were used.
Some visual assets used for the Steam store page and marketing materials, including logos, promotional artwork, capsule images, and library assets, were created or assisted using generative AI tools and then reviewed, edited, and finalized by the developer.
No AI-generated content is created during gameplay. AI-generated content is limited to pre-generated promotional and store page materials and does not affect gameplay, game mechanics, or player-generated content.
AI tools were used during development to assist with code review, debugging, and localization. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay. Music is generated in real time using procedural audio systems and custom algorithms.
Terra Concordia was created by the solo developer at NCB Company with extensive use of generative artificial intelligence tools throughout the development process.
Content created with AI assistance during development:
• The 142 game cards (buildings, technologies, wonders, events, objectives): names, descriptions, costs, effects, and art were conceived and adjusted with AI assistance, under review and final decision by the human developer.
• SVG vector art (cards, board, civilizations, store capsule arts, achievement icons, page banners): programmatically generated by scripts written with AI assistance.
• Game mechanics and rules: brainstorming, balancing, and iteration done with AI assistance, always validated manually across hundreds of internal playtests.
• The 6 solo-mode scenarios: themes, victory conditions, and difficulty designed with AI assistance, adjusted through playtesting.
• Website, store descriptions, manuals, and Civilopedia: drafted with AI assistance, reviewed by the developer.
• English and Spanish translations: pre-translated with AI, manually reviewed and polished.
• Solo-mode opponent (Automa) logic: the script was written with AI assistance, but it is a fixed deterministic algorithm with no machine learning components.
No content is generated by AI in real time during play. There are no images, texts, cards, or behaviors dynamically generated by AI while you play. The "Automa" (solo-mode AI opponent) is a script already embedded in the game code, executing pre-defined rules — without any alteration, generation, or learning during the match.
All AI-assisted content was reviewed, tested, and approved by the human developer before release.
We are a small indie team of only two brothers, and all core gameplay mechanics, level design, story, programming, and animations were 100% handcrafted by us.
AI was used strictly for supplementary audio and minor environmental details: specifically, background music, ambient soundscapes, eerie sound effects, and select in-game textures/posters.
AI tools were used to assist in the creation of temporary promotional artwork and concept visuals for the Steam store page. Gameplay systems, implementation, balancing, and final game integration are developed manually.
dreamstrobe uses generative AI as a core live feature. When you chat with the visualizer, your prompt is sent to Anthropic's Claude model. Claude writes a Three.js scene — geometry, shaders, motion, post-processing, and audio-reactive behavior — in real time, and the running engine loads and renders it on the fly. Each scene you create is freshly, generated JavaScript that runs in a sandboxed browser context. Outputs are filtered by Anthropic's built-in safety systems to block illegal or harmful content. Generated code is executed locally; no model weights ship with the game. Some textures, environment maps, and sample assets used by the engine were also created or refined with generative AI tools during development, and were reviewed before inclusion. You can use dreamstrobe without writing prompts — a library of pre-authored scenes ships with the game and runs on its own.
Pre-Generated Content:
We used generative AI tools to create some of the background music (BGM) and environmental sounds. Additionally, some 2D background artwork, such as loading screens, was generated using AI. All AI-generated assets have been strictly reviewed and heavily edited by the developer to fit the game's stylized direction and ensure they do not infringe on any third-party copyrights.
Live-Generated Content:
This game does not contain any live-generated AI content.
The developers used generative AI tools in the creation of this game. Portions of the game's content — including visual art and 3D assets, audio, in-game narrative and text, and translations into the supported languages — were produced with the assistance of generative AI and then reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer. All AI-assisted content is generated ahead of time and is fixed in the shipped game. Builder Bros does not generate any content using AI during gameplay, and does not connect to any external AI service.
Generative AI was used during development as a production tool for portions of the game's source code, music production workflow, and synthetic voice-over generation.
AI-assisted code was reviewed, tested, modified where necessary, and integrated under the direct supervision of the developer. Some music tracks originated from AI-generated compositions or stems and were subsequently edited, arranged, mixed, and produced by the developer. Voice-over content is generated using commercially licensed AI voice technology from developer-written scripts.
The game's gameplay systems, game design, balancing, progression systems, procedural visual generation technology, world generation systems, writing, and overall creative direction were conceived, designed, and maintained by the developer.
The game does not use generative AI at runtime. No player-facing content is generated on-the-fly during gameplay. Visuals are created through deterministic procedural generation systems and pre-authored assets rather than generative image AI.
