Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some assets on the store page are optimized using AI.
Some visual assets, such as store capsule images and in-game card illustrations, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All gameplay and code are original.
AI Music: The BGM was sampled by AI using human-composed reference tracks and was ultimately refined by a sound designer.
Some visual assets used in the game and its marketing materials were initially generated using AI-assisted tools and then modified and integrated into the game by the developer.
Generative AI was used during development as a supportive tool for creating some artwork and assisting with coding.
AI was used to upscale the concept art. AI was used for the final artwork / final drawing.
A part of the in-game sprites and item art in this game were generated using AI. As a solo developer, generative AI tools allow me to create a breadth of visual content that would otherwise not have been possible. All assets were carefully selected, curated, and integrated to ensure they align with the game's vision and quality.
During the early prototyping phase, I use AI tools to visualize initial concepts and create temporary placeholders. All of these have been completely replaced in the final game with hand-crafted art created by myself and talented freelancers.
I used AI for debugging game build errors. Going through thousands lines of error logs and call stacks is not a total nightmare once I get pointed to the right direction. I also localized steam page using it to some languages.
This app includes pre-generated content created or assisted using generative AI. This includes the game logo, title screen, certain story-related images used during key moments of the game, a majority of item-related visuals (such as weapons, armors, accessories, and quest items), and approximately 60% of character portraits used in dialogue. All such content was selected, reviewed, and in many cases manually edited and integrated by the developer before being included in the game or on the store page. Additionally, most of the game's plugins were developed with the assistance of AI tools. No AI is used at runtime or during gameplay.
Some menu visuals were created using AI tools and refined by the developer.
There is AI-generated audio used within the game. All AI-generated content is pre-rendered and static. No AI is used to generate visuals, gameplay content, or content at runtime.
Some static background images and card textures.
as a first no budget game from a solo dev this game includes ai generated images of mythological and made up divine places in paintings and of ghosts appearing around the game
The game uses AI-generated assets such as pre-rendered textures and background images to enhance the visual atmosphere. These elements were created with AI tools but are not generated dynamically during gameplay.
AI used for generating descriptions of game
As a micro independent team, we utilized AI tools to assist in creating minor graphical assets. This allowed our super limited resources to remain focused entirely on the core gameplay mechanics, coding, and storytelling that define the experience.
AI was only used to help create UI image elements.
artificial intelligence used only for creating and editing images
AI was used to generate some basic art assets, which were then modified by humans.AI was used to generate some basic art assets, which were then modified by humans.
During the game's development, we may use tools that make use of procedural generation or AI. In every case, the final product reflects the creativity and artistic direction of the development team.
Generative AI tools were used during the development process to assist in creating some background environmental textures, atmospheric sound effects, and promotional marketing materials. All AI-generated assets have been reviewed and refined by the developer to ensure quality and originality.
Some resources on the store page were created with AI assistance.

Generative AI was used strictly as a production tool to support visual and creative development.
As a solo developer, I used generative AI tools to assist in creating many of the game's character sprites, environmental art, and audio assets. This allowed me to focus my limited time on the things I care about most: deep mechanical systems, addictive prestige progression, satisfying combat feel, and making the "numbers go up" fantasy as juicy and rewarding as possible.
With the help of neural networks, voiceover was made in Silent home.
The developer uses generative AI tools to create pre-recorded voice-over audio and character dialogue for the in-game cutscenes.
Some in game art was AI generated.
Some of the textures and sounds used in this game are created with generative AI.
Generative AI was used during development for early ideation (e.g., concept exploration and/or placeholder text). Any content shipped in the game is reviewed, curated, and edited by the developer. Store page capsule images and promotional art created with AI assistance
Various assets were created by or edited by AI tools. This includes; models, textures, sound effects, voices, UI, and narrative elements.
Used ai to improve graphics in store and in the game.
The game utilizes generative AI tools to assist in the creative process. This includes generating assets such as 2D artwork/textures, 3D model concepts, coding scripts assistance, and background music/audio elements. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed and edited by the developer to ensure it fits the game's artistic vision and standards.
This game uses AI-assisted tools as part of the production pipeline for selected visual assets and audio. Final assets are directed, edited, selected, integrated, and reviewed by Moire X Studio.

This game uses generative artificial intelligence tools during development to assist with the creation of certain audio, voice lines, and visual assets (in cut scenes). All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency and quality within the final experience. No player data is collected or used to train AI systems during gameplay.

AI used for debugging.
Some in-game artwork and music were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then curated/edited by the developer. No AI content is generated at runtime.
I make games as a solo designer, so a few images have been generated for textures and sprites along with editing to make sure they fit the game. I also use it for programming and writing descriptions. I also use it to change my voice because I'm the only voice actor. I'm too broke to pay a bunch of people so AI isn't taking any jobs, just helping me create content in a realistic timeline.
Some images and textures were created by artificial intelligence.
Some cutscenes and the game title are AI-generated images.
This game includes pre-generated content created with the assistance of generative AI, including some written text, UI elements, and icon artwork. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. No generative AI is used during live gameplay.
AI was used for C# scripting and language translation.
Ghostwriter's Pact uses AI as an engine to enable gameplay that would be impossible to achieve with traditional game development methods. The game is built on a "Hybrid AI" system designed to maximize player creativity while minimizing environmental impact and latency: 1. Pre-generated Content: To allow players to combine word cards into valid sentences, we used LLMs to pre-generate and validate a database of over 1 million properly structured sentences. It would be humanly impossible for a writing team to manually author this volume of text. By pre-generating this data, we ensure the core gameplay is instant, responsive, and does not require constant, energy-intensive API calls for every move the player makes. 2. Live Generation: When a player finalizes a story arc, the game connects to a live LLM to weave their sentences into a cohesive story. A secondary AI acts as a "Critic," evaluating the player's story for cohesiveness and creativity. Pre-generation of stories is impossible here, since players can mix sentences to create a near infinite amount of stories. 3. Visual Assets: The game's imagery was generated locally on developer hardware using custom-trained models (LoRAs) and workflows to ensure a consistent, stylized aesthetic that fits the game's theme.
