Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game uses generative AI in a limited capacity on the game server in real time. The AI is used solely to generate narrative text: mission names and descriptions, in-world news broadcasts, and some NPC dialogue. All game logic — including mission mechanics, rewards, and balance — is governed by deterministic code and is never decided by AI. If the AI service is unavailable, the game automatically falls back to pre-written text templates.
Portions of imagery were produced with the assistance of generative AI.
Some of the game's art assets were generated with the assistance of AI. All such assets have been carefully reviewed to ensure they do not infringe on third-party rights or violate Steam's policies.
The developer uses generative AI tools during the development process to assist in creating pre-generated visual assets, environment textures, and background sound effects. These AI-assisted elements are finalized and integrated into the game's static files to enhance the overall horror atmosphere.
Generative AI tools were used to create and refine selected promotional artwork for the Steam store page. All resulting materials were reviewed and curated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
Loop Spot is a solo-developed game. Generative AI tools were used to assist with the creation of some visual assets, including UI artwork, logos, and capsule/marketing artwork. These assets were further edited, composited, and refined by me to fit the game’s visual direction and overall artistic vision.
The core gameplay, puzzle design, programming, and music were created by me. No generative AI was used to create the game’s music.
AI was used as a supporting visual production tool, while the game’s design, creative direction, gameplay, and music are my original work.
I am a solo developer with ten years of experience, who started out as a 3D artist.
Every piece of 3D art in this game was made by me: the models, the UVs, the LODs. All of the game code and architecture was designed and programmed by me.
I used generative AI to assist me with some of the textures and the music.
This is a solo project with no funding and I wanted it to follow my vision so I needed any help I could get. If I ever could afford to hire people, that is what I am going to do! So we can deliver even better quality games!
This game uses generative AI-assisted tools for certain visual assets and promotional materials, including some artwork shown in the store page and trailer. All AI-assisted content has been reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated by the developer.
This game uses AI tools in the following ways:
Music: Composed using Suno.
Code: Written and debugged with AI assistance.
Art: Created with AI assistance.
All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and finalized by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with creating promotional images for the Steam store page, early concept art, and voiceovers for character dialogues. No AI content is generated in real-time during gameplay. All in-game models, code, and environments were manually created, processed, and integrated by the developer.
Store page and marketing capsule artwork was drafted with generative AI, then quantized to a fixed 9-colour pixel palette and hand-adjusted before use. Interface translations outside Simplified Chinese and English were produced by machine translation and have not been reviewed by native speakers.
All in-game visuals, the user interface, the wordmark and the achievement icons are drawn programmatically in code and contain no AI-generated content. The game does not invoke generative AI at runtime; nothing is generated while you play.
Final Night Firefight uses generative AI tools during development to assist with the creation of some pre-generated game artwork, visual assets and music. I review, edit, and integrate all AI-assisted content as part of the game's development process. The game does not generate AI content live during gameplay.
During the development of this game, generative AI tools were used to assist in creating some of the art materials (scenes / props / UI) and text content. All AI-generated content has been thoroughly reviewed, modified, optimized, and checked for copyright by humans to ensure the quality and compliance of the content.
Some of the music in this game was created using Suno AI. Generative image tools were also used in the creation of certain in-game visual assets and marketing images. The generated content was reviewed, selected, and modified during the development process. Generative AI is not used in real time during gameplay, nor does the game generate any new content while being played.
This game uses generative AI to create some character sprites, event CGs, backgrounds, and other in-game images. Some translations are also created using generative AI. These AI-generated assets are used as part of the game's content, as well as in images displayed on the game's store page. The game does not use generative AI to generate content in real time based on player input.
Generative AI was used to create initial artwork for the in-game VHS covers. All generated images were subsequently manually edited and refined by the development team.
AI tools were used to assist in the creation of some 2D visual assets and music used in the game. AI-assisted assets were created under developer direction, reviewed and edited by the developers before inclusion.
Pre-generated key art, store and marketing artwork, and two music loops were created with generative AI tools, then selected, edited, and reviewed by the developer. Gameplay rules, code, interface text, and player actions are authored and deterministic. No content is generated during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
AI was used only as a tool to speed things up.
Voice acting was done by professionals (including me).
SFX and most VFX are assets created by artists (some placeholder AI art is included to be replaced in time) and the music tracks were composed by me and rendered with an AI assisted DAW process.
All creative ideas, all mods and QoL features of this unique puzzle game were designed and built by a human mind.
AI is used as a translation aid for localizing in-game text and Steam store page text into the supported languages. All original Japanese text is written by the developer.
We have used generative AI tools to translate the game into other languages and make it accessible to a wider audience. The development team has reviewed and overseen the integration of all text to ensure correct display and the proper functioning of the interface and menus.
Store page texts and localization drafts were prepared with the help of AI tools, and parts of the game's source code were written with AI coding assistants — all of it reviewed, edited and tested by the developer. All art, game design and audio are human-made. The in-game opponent is a custom neural network trained by the developer through self-play (a chess-engine-style game AI, not generative AI).
Some of this game's art and audio were created with generative AI tools, then selected, edited and assembled by the developer: the ink-wash illustrations and character portraits, part of the interface artwork, and the background music. The store page artwork and the trailer were produced the same way. Everything ships as fixed, pre-rendered assets. The game generates no content while you play and connects to no AI service. Puzzle levels are built and verified by our own deterministic mahjong solver, not by AI.
Character artwork for Giusto’s characters that represent each tier of the player’s journey began as AI-generated concept art, conceptualized, directed and reviewed by our team to match the the art direction of the game. 3D character models were generated from this concept art using Tripo AI’s image-to-3D tool, then reviewed and integrated into the game by our development team. From which, the final 3D models were designed and styled within Unreal Engine 5 to fit the feel of our game. All game design, music and other content were built directly by our team and purchased and licensed human-made asset packs.
The game was developed with the help of AI. The background music soundtrack is AI-generated: the pieces were created with a locally run music model, then curated and edited by hand. Puzzles, game design and gameplay are human-made.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with coding, promotional artwork, and store-page copy and localization. All outputs were reviewed by the developer.
I’m a solo developer. At this stage, generative AI is used only for some character artwork shown in the game’s trailer and promotional material. These assets are temporary and are not used in the game itself.
As a one-person studio, I’m using temporary AI-generated artwork to gauge interest in the game before committing significant time or money to producing the final character art. I plan to replace this artwork with original/non-AI assets before release and will update this disclosure when that happens.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating some in-game artwork and promotional artwork for the game, including certain environment backgrounds and Steam store assets.
Generative AI was used to create of the music included in the game, as well as marketing and promotional materials for Steam.
AI tools were also used for programming and development.
There is no AI used in the gameplay - no content is dynamically generated.
AI used to generate code, including code to procedurally generate graphics/sound.
Artists using Suno marked "(Suno)" after artist name.
AI used for localization.
The AI coworkers in this game are voiced by a machine (TTS), and their dialogue was really written by AI together with self portraits, on purpose and under human review. The slop is diegetic. The code was written with AI agents and reviewed by the last human in that loop, the developer. That is also the plot. No AI runs at runtime. Everything was baked and reviewed before shipping.
Generative AI was used during development to generate suspect mugshot photos, dossier case texts, and to assist with language localization. All generated assets are static and pre-packaged into the game.
This game uses content created or assisted by generative AI. Generative AI was used to help create and edit some visual assets, music/sound materials, and scripts. All final content was reviewed, selected, and adjusted by the developer before being included in the game.
