Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We use AI in a very limited way to generate rough starting meshes for 3D models. Those initial models act only as a starting point - similar to a placeholder. From there, all the work is done by us: Models are manually refined, rebuilt, optimized and integrated by the development team. All environments, level design, lighting, materials, and world building are hand-crafted. All gameplay systems, programming, mechanics, and logic are human-written. All story, narrative design, pacing and world lore are human-created. All art direction, maps, layouts, and creative decisions are human-driven.
The purpose of this is simple: to remove an entry barrier so this game can exist.
We are a small, self-funded team of two developers learning Unreal Engine hands-on, building everything piece by piece. Using AI in this limited way allows us to start from a basic form instead of a blank screen - but the final result is the product of human effort, learning, iteration, and creative intent.
We know this can be a sensitive topic, especially for artists and voice actors, and those concerns are completely valid.
We truly appreciate everyone who chooses to be a part of this journey.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in the creation of certain visual and audio assets (such as background artwork and music), which were subsequently edited and finalized manually before being included in the game and store materials.
I make games as a solo designer, so a few images have been generated for textures and sprites along with editing to make sure they fit the game. I also use it for programming and writing descriptions. I also use it to change my voice because I'm the only voice actor. I'm too broke to pay a bunch of people so AI isn't taking any jobs, just helping me create content in a realistic timeline.
This game uses generative AI tools during development to assist with the creation of written content, including dialogue drafts, descriptions, and promotional text.
All AI-assisted content has been reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer.
No AI-generated content is created dynamically during gameplay, and no player data is used or processed by AI systems.
⚠ Every piece that came out of AI went through manual refinement, adjustment, and polish by me – a human being.
The final result is a fully conscious, cohesive vision shaped entirely by my own decisions. AI was never the creator – it only helped me prototype ideas and speed up certain workflows.
Generative AI technology was utilized for certain art assets(Background and Item Images) and sound effects to enhance the overall production quality of this game.

Contains assets created with the help of generative AI tools during development. All assets are carefully reviewed, refined, and finalized by the developer.
This game utilizes pre-generated AI content to enhance the visual and audio experience. This includes 2D assets for UI/menus, marketing capsule images, and synthesized voiceovers for characters. All AI-generated elements have been manually reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team to ensure they align with the game's creative vision and adhere to platform guidelines.
Generative AI was used to create the promotional artwork (capsules and banners) for the store page. In-game, the soldiers' voices were generated using AI text-to-speech technologies.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of pre-generated visual assets for the store page and Steam Community materials. All content is reviewed and adjusted manually.
There are images produced that have been rendered using the help of Ai, there are also musical components that have been engineered with the use of Ai.
This game does not use generative AI for gameplay, dialogue, environments, or player-facing content. A generative AI tool was used to create small pieces of non-interactive promotional artwork. All in-game assets, systems, and content are created by the developer or licensed from third-party creators.
Midnight Oil Prologue uses assets purchased from the Unreal FAB Marketplace. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that all assets in our game were produced without generative AI. We also plan on using generative AI to make promotional materials for marketing purposes.
Some marketing and promotional materials for this game were created or assisted using generative AI tools. These materials are used solely for marketing purposes and do not affect gameplay or in-game content.

The majority of the visuals derive from one of our earlier products; to improve the experience, we remade them via AI image generation and followed up with extensive post-processing.
Generative AI tools are used in a limited capacity during development for coding assistance and early prototyping.
AI may occasionally be used to help generate placeholder assets during experimentation and iteration. Any such placeholder content is intended to be replaced with original, hand-crafted assets before release.
No generative AI content is intended to appear in the final shipped game.
Some elements of the game's store page, including the short and full descriptions, as well as parts of the capsule image, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools.
