Public Steam disclosure research 25,497 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Googunners uses upgrade card art that is generated by Midjourney, and then authored in post. Outiside of the updgrade cards art, everything else is human created.
Yes, AI was used to help generate text for the Steam store page and translations
The capsule art was partially generated using AI based on original character model renders and hand drawn references. They were then modified in Blender and finalized in Gimp.
No AI has been used to generate game art or code. Some marketing materials use generated textures.
AI was use to generate code and for general help. A machine learning model is used to detect squats in game.
We use generative AI tools in a very limited way to create minor in-game image assets and a small amount of marketing materials, always with human oversight and input. All core game content is carefully designed, authored, and curated by our development team to ensure quality and originality.
Some art, music, and code structures in this game were assisted by AI tools during development. All outputs have been reviewed, refined, and integrated by human developers to ensure consistent style and high-quality gameplay experience.
This title uses generative AI only for pre-generated content. During development, a small set of UI visuals (buttons/icons) and promotional artwork (such as logos and store images) were created with image-generation tools and then manually edited. No AI runs at gameplay time: there is no real-time AI for text, voice, art, levels, NPCs, or moderation. All outputs were reviewed to avoid copyright or trademark infringement and to avoid replicating the style of identifiable living artists.
Only the soundtrack was generated using artificial intelligence.
Our game does not use AI in gameplay. AI is only used for marketing materials.
I personally feel the final artwork reflects my own creative input as I used original images and applied manual edits without any AI tools during the post-processing phase, however Steam’s requirement is based on the origin of the asset, not the amount of human editing afterward. AI was involved in the initial generation of the capsule art, and other images on the store page. AI is not used for live generation or code during gameplay.
Some audio files used in the game are temporary AI-generated placeholders and will be replaced in the final version.
The game's intro video and skill icons were produced with the help of generative AI.
Some promotional images on the store page were created using generative artificial intelligence tools.
This game uses pre-generated AI images for the game. While navigating the menus, you'll see AI-generated images for menu backgrounds and buttons. The game's runtime (.exe) file icon and store images are also AI-generated.
Some of the pixel art in this game was inspired by AI-generated concepts, but every design has been edited and refined by me, to fix imperfections and make it my own. As a Solo Developer with a limited budget, I also used AI tools to help create the sound effects and music.
AI generated concept art for marketing
Some UI images were generated with AI tools
The developer of Synergy Strike used AI-assisted tools as part of a solo development workflow. Audio, visuals, and code assistance were crafted using a curated set of generative tools all directed, reviewed, and shaped by a single human creator. Synergy Strike is handmade at its core.
AI tools have been used for some concept art and visual mood boards. No AI-generated content is planned for use in gameplay, story, characters, or UI elements.
Como estudantes, acabamos usando a IA como meio de consulta, resolução de problemas e o campo artístico como logotipo do jogo.
During the development process, in almost every aspect I use procedural and AI‑based tools to assist with content creation (e.g., generating code, auto‑filling code, making lunch receipts).
Some of the text on this store page was created with the assistance of AI tools for localization purposes.
Used minimal AI to assist in the creation.
for store page poster
AI was used for interface language translation.
Some of the image materials were created using AI and were subsequently refined with detailed edits
For the game itself, we use AI to help generate art assets, such as weapon concept maps and some game prop images.
Some static content, such as images, is AI-generated.
AI makes a lot of things easier for drawing, 3D, animation, code, music... but I don't use AI to avoid having to work, nor in place of my imagination: I create the lore, the character designs, the enemies and bosses, the powers and their combined effects, I write the dialogues myself and even the song lyrics. In short, I don't use AI to create, but to produce with the means I have (I document all of this in the YouTube devlog.) And the more Tyberion takes shape, the more I replace AI assets with handmade assets.
I received help from AI only for some of the images on perk icons due to my art skills not being sufficient.
AI was used for voice and sound effects.
I just made two paintings for the left wall of the hub world because I wanted to make something pretty myself but didn't have the artistic skills to draw it, although insignificant, I chose to check this box to avoid any problems.
Generating images and icons for display in the store.
Use AI-generated images and convert them into paintings to use as concept art for the main menu and in-game simulated advertising images. Use AI to create images for in-game currency. Use ChatGPT to create lyrics for the theme song.
Only capsule images (capsules, banners, logo) were partially generated with AI. All assets were manually edited to meet commercial and copyright standards.
Some of the 3D models and images were created using generative AI.
No art, code or anything related to the game has used generative AI. If AI was used at all, it was to optimize repetitive tasks.
AI tools used for language translations. Code and Art may contain <1% AI tools
I use AI-driven tools to generate visual content, music, and 3D models.
AI generate content in pre-rendered video
I’m a solo dev running a creative experiment: every texture, model, sound, music loop and even code started life in generative AI tools that I run locally, before the build ships. No marketplace packs, no outsourcing. Nothing is generated while you play and the game never sends data outside your PC. Crimson System is my proof-of-concept for how far one person (plus a few neural nets) can push a retro FPS.
“Don’t Hang Up” uses generative AI voice technology (via ElevenLabs) to bring the anonymous phone calls to life. These AI-generated voices enhance immersion and help deliver the story in a unique, atmospheric way. No user data is collected or processed by AI systems.
Created game icons using AI.
Some 3D models and textures are generated by AI.
AI assists in concepting, programming and directing this solo project.
This game uses AI-generated content created with ChatGPT and Bing Image Creator. AI was used to help write store page text, promotional material, and generate some illustrative images. No AI is used in the game's real-time execution or gameplay code.
Music: AI was used to generate the initial tracks, but every song was then heavily edited, rearranged, and mastered by a human. Nothing went straight from the algorithm to your headphones.
This game was made by a solo developer aka human being. Some visual and audio assets were built with AI support, then refined, edited and animated by hand. Also, code analysis and debugging (no pun intended) was done with the support of AI.
Since we don't have graphics designers, we used some AI-generated images for the store page and marketing materials.
