Public Steam disclosure research 25,514 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

AI-generated art objects
This demo includes a limited number of pre-generated AI-assisted art assets used as placeholders (e.g., some concept/illustration elements and textures). These assets are not generated in real time and do not affect gameplay. We plan to replace AI-assisted placeholder assets with original final assets for the full release.
Neofold includes real-time generated AI content, such as its recommended "Infinity Mode", which uses a local diffusion model to generate infinite unique creatures in real-time using your GPU. No external servers are used. No generation happens without your prior input, ensuring stable performance during your work and gaming sessions. Neofold includes pre-generated AI content, such as its alternate "Lite Mode", which uses a giant set of pre-generated creatures for players without a suitable video card.
COALCOM was built by a solo developer with 20+ years in the power industry. Generative AI was used to write and iterate on game code — it's what made finishing a +10-year project idea finally possible. Some written content, including store page copy and the game manual, was drafted with AI assistance and refined by the developer. The game design, mechanics, domain expertise, and voice are entirely human. The visual assets were not AI-generated.
Voiceovers for some NPC characters.
We use AI tools to generate English voiceovers. These voice lines were manually tuned and refined (using SSML) to ensure emotional accuracy and quality. Additionally, some 2D assets, including UI elements and model textures, were created with the assistance of AI generation tools.
AI was used only for generating store page images. The game itself does not use generative AI.
all the pictures are generated by artificial intelligence.
As a solo developer, this project would not have been possible without the use of AI tools during early production to generate placeholder assets. Most if not all of these assets will be replaced with original artwork. No people have been replaced by AI.
AI was used exclusively to create temporary placeholder images for character skill and perk descriptions. This decision was made due to budget constraints during the early stages of development. As the project progresses and resources become available, all AI-generated assets will be replaced with high-quality, hand-crafted artwork created by professional artists.
AI-assisted tools were used extensively in the creation of this game’s assets.
We created some images in the game using AI, but most of them are handmade. The game cover has been enhanced with AI. Some sound effects were created using AI.
Some event CGs were initially created using generative AI tools, then manually edited and refined by the developer.
AI tools were used to assist in the creation of specific visual assets, translation localization, and voiceovers. All AI-generated content has been manually refined and adjusted to fit the game's artistic style.
AI helps with writing simple scripts, voice acting, and music composition
This game uses generative AI only for certain 3D textures, background music, and translation during development.
Planets, 2D ships, wireframe models and cut-scenes images were created with generative AI
Some background music tracks were generated using Suno AI and curated by the developer for use in the game.
Generative AI was used during the design stage to visualize original sketches and create UI concepts. Based on these visualizations, all final interface elements and graphical assets were manually refined and created to match the game's artistic style.
Background images and some icons were generated using AI tools. Portions of the music were generated using the AI music tool Suno.
The game does not contain AI-generated content. AI-generated content is used just for Steam cover.
We use AI as a creative assistant to refine our English descriptions and ensure they are easy to read and engaging (since we are not native speakers). In addition, some of the game’s illustrations were created with the help of generative AI tools and later refined by human artists.
AI has been initially used to generate in-game characters' portraits (pre-rendered); those portraits were then manually processed by artists.
Some visual and marketing materials for Regret To Inform were assisted by generative AI tools. All generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the game's artistic direction and quality standards.
Some Steam Store materials have been created using generative AI. Some in-game assets (descriptions, textures, music) have been created using generative AI.
Some visual assets in this game, such as paintings and certain 3D models, were created using generative AI tools and then manually refined and integrated by the developer to fit the game. All such content is created during development and is not generated dynamically during gameplay.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence tools during development to assist with the creation of certain audio, voice lines, and visual assets (in cut scenes). All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency and quality within the final experience. No player data is collected or used to train AI systems during gameplay.
AI was used to generate the avatar.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with art assets, text, and localization during development.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence as part of the development process. AI-assisted tools were used to help create certain narrative elements and voice-acted dialogue. All content was curated, reviewed, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate content using AI during gameplay, and no external AI services are accessed while playing.
This game is independently developed by a single creator. To achieve the desired artistic style, AI was used to assist in the creation process, with a small portion of materials being purely hand-drawn. All content has been modified and integrated by the developer to ensure accuracy in expression.
During the development, AI assistance may be used in creating content used in the game. All such content is rooted in the original art direction of the project, and shaped individually before reaching the final product.
The background images and flowers pictures are pre-rendered AI art
The background images and chocolate pictures are pre-rendered AI art.
This game makes limited use of generative artificial intelligence during development. Generative AI tools were used by the developer to assist with code prototyping, internal scripts, concept imagery, and promotional materials during the development process. All AI-generated content is reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer.
This product contains AI-generated images used for certain in-game artwork. As a solo developer without a budget, I don't have means to obtain and use the real art at this moment. In case of commercial success I plan to replace AI-generated art with an art from real artists. All gameplay systems and mechanics are designed by me.
In our project, AI was used to partially create art assets, helping our artists bring some ideas to life.
AI- generated images
Generative AI was used for the localization and translation of some languages in this game.
During the development of this game, we utilized generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to assist in the creation of certain game art assets, narrative text, game content, programming, and localized translations. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed, modified, and integrated by our development team to ensure it aligns with game design, meets quality standards, and maintains originality.
The game itself does not include AI content. But the pictures for the store page were made with help from AI.
Some visual art assets displayed within the in-game gallery were created using generative AI tools. These images were manually curated, edited, and selected by the developer to fit the game's psychological themes and narrative structure. No live generation occurs during gameplay.
Machine translation is used to bring localized content to more players. A few images were created with the help of AI.
