Some music uses AI
Currently, this game uses placeholder generative AI images for character portraits and voiceovers for the announcer. Hopefully these assets will be replaced by talented artists overtime.
Translations and text content are AI-generated. Some of the UI and game backgrounds are AI generated with manual post-processing. Some of the VFX for the animations are AI generated with post-processing.

AI assistance was used in the game's cover art, title images, and other materials, as well as in the translations of the page descriptions.
Driftbane: The Long Awaited uses generative AI tools during development for some character art, 3D character base meshes, music tracks, and as a coding assistant. The developer refines, integrates, and curates AI outputs by hand. All creative direction, narrative, design decisions, and gameplay are authored by the developer. No AI content runs at runtime in the game.
We use generative AI tools to create certain visual assets in the game, specifically the game logo and the main menu background image.
Only a few images are created by AI first and then edited in Photoshop.
Some of the art is generated, and Localization was done by AI as well. These usages are all temporary and will be replaced with real art, and localization by launch
AI support has been used in the translations and visuals on the Steam store page.
All in-game visual art assets in this title — including item icons, equipment artwork, character portraits, story illustrations, and UI decorative elements (frames, icons, and background textures) — are produced using OpenAI's ChatGPT image generation and xAI's Grok image generation API as core tools within our ink-wash and gongbi-style art pipeline. Every generated asset is reviewed, curated, manually retouched, and compositionally adjusted by the developer before being incorporated into the game. No real person's likeness has been used. The game's source code is written by the developer, Kevin Chen, with OpenAI Codex and Anthropic Claude Code used as coding assistants during development. In-game narrative and dialogue text are written by the developer, with portions assisted by Anthropic Claude for polishing and proofreading.

We have used generative AI tools to assist in the creation of several game assets, including background music (BGM), environment background images, and various UI elements such as icons and store banners. All AI-generated content has been thoroughly reviewed and refined by our development team to ensure high quality and to confirm that it does not contain any illegal or infringing material. AI Content Disclosure (Or: Why Your Eyes Aren't Bleeding) Steam requires me to formally disclose that I used AI tools to help create the visual assets for this game, and honestly, you should be thanking them for it. My personal artistic abilities peak at drawing lopsided stick figures, and if I had to hand-draw the assets myself, this wouldn't be a co-op horror game—it would be a tragedy. To spare you from my awful programmer art, I used Meshy AI to generate the 3D models and Nano Banana Pro to handle the textures. The gameplay, the panic-inducing 90-second timers, and the terrifying undead Grandma mechanics are all me. The art, however, was assisted by AI as a public service to protect your eyeballs.
This game uses generative AI for some in-game paintings, store artwork, and the introductory voiceover. All content was reviewed and integrated by the developer.
Text-to-speech tools were utilized to generate the quick voice-over announcements during a match.

AI tools were used during development to generate initial 3D model drafts and UI artwork assets. All AI-generated content was manually reviewed, refined, and integrated by the development team. No AI generates content at runtime during gameplay.
Claude code = Lots of code. Within the game client/server sure, but particularly within our game creation pipeline. It has enabled our artists/unity devs to create their own scripts/tools with blender/unity to streamline our content creation process. Also, CC used for creating python scripts used for MIDI music composition. Flux Dev image gen = spell icons. It did not write this message though :)

AI usage has been very light and, in my opinion, the correct/optimal use of AI. AI has been predominately used in the form of a chatbot efficiency tool. I've used it to troubleshoot matchmaking logic flows, I've pasted blocks of text for it to clean up readability or catch spelling errors, I just asked it for the quickest way to change images to grayscale in MS Paint as I was creating Steam Achievements. Things like that. I have hired an artist that claims he does not use AI, though I admit I cannot completely verify that. The hero image and some title art was developed by him. All sprite work in the game itself was made by humans. Music was pulled from various places. My brother-in-law created some songs and did not use AI. Other tracks and sound effects were pulled from free-use websites that did not make any AI disclosures. Really truly, the heart and soul of this game is for humans made by humans. AI has been used, but only as the tool it is meant to be, not as the replacement of human creativity it is slowly elbowing its way into.
The Buzz Quiz trailer features scenes created using AI.
In game text localization provided by AI enabled API service.
AI tools were used to assist in the creation of the trailer and promotional materials displayed on this store page.
