Pixel art assets, the soundtrack, and portions of the game's writing were created with generative AI, then curated and edited by the developer. The game's design, satirical concept, and systems are original human work. All sound effects were recorded by voice actors.
To improve development efficiency and creative inspiration, our team integrated AI-assisted tools into the development of the game. We used Claude and GLM as creative partners to help us draft and refine portions of the game's visuals, story, dialogue, and text, as well as to help translate the store page content into different languages (not in-game text).
Please be assured that AI is just one part of our creative process — every piece of content ultimately presented to players, from each word to the overall story, has been carefully designed, reviewed, and revised by our development team to ensure the highest quality and the best gaming experience.
Generative AI was used during development for certain text descriptions and for a limited number of illustrative assets. These visuals were subsequently reworked by the game’s artist for consistency with the game’s final style. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Pre-generated: Steam store capsule and library key art was created using OpenAI image generation and then cropped, titled, and prepared by the developer. No generative AI runs during gameplay.
Some of Sector 7's artwork — including its store and marketing images — and its narrative text were created with AI assistance and then reviewed and edited by the developer. Localization into additional languages used AI translation with human review.
Delphi uses Midjourney for illustrated artwork (cards, events, key art, capsule art) and Kling for image-to-video trailer animation, all curated and edited by the developer. UI artwork is hand-made by a credited human artist.
No AI is used in design, writing, narrative or gameplay, and no AI runs at runtime — all in-game content is human-written static data.
Some artwork in this game, including character portraits and background illustrations, was created using AI image generation tools. All AI-generated art was reviewed, curated, and integrated by the developer to match the game's Ottoman miniature painting visual style. All game design, narrative content, music, and gameplay were created by the developer.
I use generative AI tools as a solo developer to enhance the game's scope and immersion. Specifically:
Narrative: I use AI to help brainstorm and draft initial versions of the large volume of news articles, newsletters, and in-game messages. This ensures a diverse and reactive 'living market' feel. All AI-assisted text is manually reviewed and edited by me.
Visual Assets: Some 2D background elements, icons, and character portraits are generated with the help of AI tools to achieve a consistent 1980s aesthetic.
My goal is to use these technologies to deliver a deeper, more systemic simulation than would otherwise be possible for a one-person studio.
During the development of Vatan, generative AI tools were used exclusively during the visualization phase to create certain in-game artwork and store assets (such as store capsules). AI was not used in any other aspect of the game, such as coding, story writing, or audio design.
We highly value player choice. For players who prefer not to see AI-generated content, we have included a dedicated toggle in the settings menu. By selecting the 'Disable AI' option, players can easily turn off all AI-generated visuals in the game.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of the game's codebase and logic. AI tools were also used to generate environmental art, background assets, and promotional marketing materials (including the Library Hero, Logo, and store page assets). All AI-generated content was reviewed and curated to ensure it meets quality standards and does not contain illegal or infringing material.
EcoMoguls uses generative AI as part of a small-studio production workflow for some player-facing content, including visual assets, written material, and audio. All final content included in the game and on the store page has been selected, edited, and integrated by the developer to fit the game's design, tone, and educational goals.
This game is created by a solo developer. Generative AI tools were utilized to enhance the music, sound effects, and localization for a better atmosphere and overall experience. All AI-assisted content has been personally reviewed and finalized by the developer. All visual assets and the narrative are entirely handcrafted.
“AI tools are used to assist in the creation of some visual assets for marketing and presentation purposes. All gameplay content and core systems are developed by the creator.”
AI is being used to do automated testing and code review. AI and Google Translate were used to generate the initial set of translations. There are currently people working on localization - it is just going to take time. If you would like to help with the localization please see: https://weblate.kuhnflix.app/ (I would appreciate your assistance!)
Artificial intelligence tools were used during the development of this game.
AI-assisted tools were utilized in certain parts of the coding process and for generating some visual assets.
All AI-generated content has been reviewed, modified, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency and quality.
This game includes AI-assisted visual content, including character portraits and promotional assets. All content has been significantly modified, reviewed, and curated by the developer to ensure originality and avoid resemblance to any real individuals. The game does not depict or reference real persons.
An AI was consulted for ideas on how an AI would act if taking over the world. Game logo image was generated using generative artificial intelligence. Music before remixing/producing created with generative AI.
Generative AI was used during the development process to enhance and diversify the variety of card assets and narrative content. This technology allowed for the creation of a more expansive and unique library of scenarios, ensuring a richer and more varied gameplay experience for the player.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence tools in the creation of visual assets, including character art and background illustrations. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, curated, and integrated into the game by the developer to ensure consistency with the artistic direction and narrative tone.
Some marketing and promotional materials for this game were created or assisted using generative AI tools. These materials are used solely for marketing purposes and do not affect gameplay or in-game content.
I used AI as a helping tool for all aspects of the game, programming, art, and narration. This is the only way for me to make my vision come true in a reasonable time.
Throughout the development of my game, I have (ironically) leveraged AI-based tools to assist myself with the code and made visual placeholders. The game was translated by AI. Many parts of the code were written by an AI and some problems were debugged with it's help.
Thank You for your understanding :D
We use AI to power dynamic conversations with hand-crafted NPCs. Each character has a unique personality, backstory, and knowledge base. Their dialogue is generated in real-time based on your questions, creating authentic interview experiences that feel natural and unpredictable.
The AI runs completely offline on your machine. No internet connection required, and your conversations remain private.
AI is used to generate the voices and advice of two opposing royal advisers (Left and Right Councillor). Each turn they comment on the situation and recommend different actions. If the player’s decree aligns more closely with one adviser’s stance, that adviser’s credibility increases while the other’s decreases.
As the credibility gap grows, public trust is affected, reflecting rising factional tension. If an adviser’s credibility reaches zero, they resign—sometimes angrily—warning the player not to dismiss their counsel. The vacant seat is then filled by a successor adviser, represented by a different local LLM model. This creates shifting personalities and advice styles across runs.
AI does not determine the game’s outcomes. Core consequences and metric changes are resolved by the game’s rule system; AI provides narrative and guidance within that system.
The visual assets were manually composited and detailed using Photoshop. Algorithmic tools were utilized only to generate initial base textures and references, which were then significantly transformed and overpainted to match the game's specific style.
Most of the images in the game, as well as marketing materials, have been generated through AI or have had AI filters applied to them for the sake of a consistent art style. Some of the game's text has also been AI-generated, though to a much lesser extent.
All of it has been manually reviewed and has had corrections applied where needed.
This game uses pre-generated AI only for certain UI background images and promotional store visuals. These assets were created before release and remain fixed. The game does not include any live AI generation during gameplay.
AI tools have only been used when they add real benefit to the game and where I have full control on the creative output. In all such cases, the final product reflects my own creativity and expression.
