Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI support has been used in the translations and visuals on the Steam store page.
AI tools were utilized to generate some art assets on the store page.
I used AI to learn how to make this and to test for Linux, SteamOS and MacOS compatability.
This game uses pre-generated AI content for its Steam store capsules and some in-game audio elements. These tools were used to support the creative process and maintain the game's aesthetic consistency.
Generative AI was used solely as a supplementary tool for music composition and a small number of non-core textures (such as background patterns and decorative assets). All AI-assisted content has undergone significant manual refinement and human oversight to ensure it meets our artistic standards and visual style. AI was used only to enhance development efficiency; all core character designs, key art, and narrative elements remain 100% human-authored.
AI was used in some parts for development as well as some digital assets.
AI tools were used to assist with code development and localization. All game design, art direction, and creative decisions were made by the developer.
Visuals: We used generative AI tools (Midjourney, ComfyUI) to assist in creating background illustrations and concept art for characters. All AI-generated outputs were manually refined, overpainted, and edited by human artists to ensure visual consistency and quality. Text: We utilized AI-powered translation tools to assist in localizing scripts and store page descriptions from Korean to English. All translated text was proofread and edited by a native speaker to maintain the narrative's tone and nuance.
I'm using a generative AI to create a few assets.
AI was used to help with translations and spelling.
This game uses generative AI tools in the creation of character illustrations, event CGs, UI icons, logos, and scripts. No real-time AI generation occurs during gameplay.
Use of Generative AI for Images and Textures in the game, and assistance with code to speed up the development process.
AI was used to edit some textures.
This game uses AI to create program code and artwork.
The only AI generated elements in the game are a few select static background images used to set the scene (such as the combat stages, the vendor backdrop, and the leaderboard podium). In strict contrast, the entirety of the Multiplayer Boss Arenas (including their backgrounds, set pieces, and props) were purely hand crafted by human artists. Additionally, all animated character models, monster sprites, factory sprites, and in game items throughout the whole game are traditional, human made pixel art.
Pre-generated AI tools were utilized to create the foundation for the 2D background art, character sprites, and audio. All of these raw assets were then extensively edited, cropped, and manually integrated by hand to ensure they perfectly fit the game's mechanics, atmosphere, and engine requirements.
All character and environmental art began as hand-drawn sketches, which were then refined using generative AI before final pixel-perfect editing in Aseprite and Photoshop. The soundtrack originated as original piano compositions, enhanced through Udio for texture, and professionally mixed in Avid Pro Tools. Our intro sequences were hand-drawn and brought to life through Seedance 2.0 animation technology.
This game includes elements using Generative AI in some pre-produced content such as intro videos. These contents were created during the development process and finally used after editing and post-processing by the development team, and no Generative AI was used for gameplay.
This game includes some pre-generated visual assets and music created with the help of AI tools during development. No AI content is generated live during gameplay.
Generative AI was used during the development process to assist with writing codes. All AI-generated text has been manually reviewed and edited.
Some of the VFX are made with the AI.
This game was developed by a solo beginner from the ground up. AI tools were used during development to assist with coding, learn new software, generating some audio, and create in-game product and console artwork. All game design, systems, and creative direction are my own work.
Developer’s Note: Due to the challenges of solo game development and being a newcomer to the industry, I utilized AI tools to assist in certain areas of production. This includes specific textures, minor 3D models, and parts of the programming logic. However, all voice acting and musical scores are original works, created as a gesture of support by my close friends.
AI coding tools were used during development to assist with writing game code and store page text. All game content (gameplay, visuals, audio, level design) was created and reviewed by the developer. No AI generates content at runtime.
Some of the 2D artwork in Chaebol Chaos — including character portraits and certain environment illustrations — was created with the assistance of generative AI image tools during development. Every AI-generated asset was reviewed, edited, and approved by our team before being included in the game. No generative AI is used at runtime; the game ships as a static offline experience with no network-dependent content generation.
This game uses generative AI in the creation of some promotional image assets used on its store page. The use of generative AI is limited to store page materials and is not included in the actual game content.
CARGO CRUSH ZERO is developed with the assistance of AI tools throughout its production. Game code is implemented using Claude (Anthropic) as a development assistant. Background music is generated with AIVA. Visual assets are created using AI image generation tools and further edited by the developer. All creative direction, design decisions, and final output are overseen by the developer.
Some minor sprites were AI-generated by the developer and then manually edited.
Artificial intelligence was used in the production of the game to modulate voices and generate songs.
Artwork & Visual Assets: Generative AI was used to assist in creating and iterating on pixel art style for UI elements and environmental backgrounds.
AI was used for translating texts as well as creating some images in the game.
AI-generated art object
This game uses generative AI only during development to upscale certain videos. No AI-generated content is produced in real time during gameplay.
Dead Reckoning is written, and designed by one person. I want to be precise about where AI tools do and don't appear in it. Creative content — no generative AI. All writing, narrative, and design is mine. I've worked as a technical writer for twelve years; the game's voice is my own. All art and visual assets are hand-made or licensed from named human artists. All music and sound effects are licensed from named human creators (public domain / Creative Commons) — none of it is AI-generated. This is a hard line and I intend to keep it. Development & release tooling — where AI assists. I use AI in the engineering and release pipeline only, never to author the game itself: - Coding assistance while writing the game's GDScript. - An automated QA/test harness that plays the simulation thousands of times to catch crashes and balance regressions. - Assistance in building linters (Valve YAML sheets) that check the project's text. - Drafting and summarizing the release notes (patch notes) from the project's changelog. None of this creates any of the writing, art, audio, or design inside the game. Localization. The four translations (German, French, Italian, Spanish) are machine-translated by DeepL from my English source, with automated guards that fall back to English wherever a translation would break. This is an accessibility vs. quality decision, and I decided on the former. Proper localizations are planned and will be contracted out if the budget allows.
Generative AI was used in the creation of assets and the development of this game.
Sound, Localization
Uses AI to downscale, generate or change a few textures and arts.
Environment icon assets, unused in the final game.
Contains some optional AI generated voice samples, using Canva, strictly in order to comply with United States Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA)
Some elements of the game were created by SI.
Sector Scavengers was built almost 100% using AI agents and tools. Makko.ai created the game art, animations, and game code/logic, and the trailers were made with a combination of Grok and 11 Labs.
This game utilizes AI technology to generate certain image assets used for illustrative and descriptive purposes (e.g., item descriptions and UI-based visuals)
Some character portraits and CG illustrations in this game were created with reference to AI-generated images for visual inspiration and compositional guidance. All final artwork was manually produced by our art team.
Generative AI was used for some 3D models, images, and localization.
The visual design on the store page was generated by AI
This game was developed with the assistance of generative AI tools. AI-generated content includes background music, UI design, text, and other assets — with the exception of pixel art graphics, which were created by human artists.
Most of this game's content was created with the assistance of AI generation tools, except for a small portion of hand-crafted assets. All AI-generated content was reviewed and edited by the developer. No AI is used during gameplay.
The banner text in the Steam store was generated using AI.
A small portion of the background music in this project utilizes AI-assisted tools (Suno) to enrich the atmospheric layers. In these specific tracks, the AI serves solely as a creative catalyst for melodic inspiration, acting as a sensory supplement to the hand-drawn artistic journey. The developer maintains absolute creative sovereignty over all core assets, including every frame of illustration and line of dialogue.
Description of AI usage in development: We utilized AI tools to enhance development efficiency and creative output: Claude: Heavily used for complex 3D procedural mesh modeling and core game logic scripting to optimize the procedural world-building. ChatGPT & Gemini: Assisted in creating specific game assets and technical documentation. Adobe Firefly: Used to generate high-quality visual elements and creative assets specifically for the game’s promotional trailers. All AI-assisted outputs were refined, integrated, and finalized by the developer to ensure technical stability and creative originality.
