Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI was used only as a supporting tool in the design of some fictional red panda characters and for language translation.
AI tools were used only to assist with translating in-game text into supported languages. No AI-generated images, music, audio, or 3D models were used. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay. Its creative direction and artistic content are rooted in human creativity and craftsmanship.
We used AI as a supporting tool to translate and proofread the in-game text. Every translation was reviewed and adjusted by our team before it went into the game.
Generative AI was used as an assistive development tool for programming, debugging and technical problem solving. Some developer created 2D concepts may also be refined using generative AI. Final creative direction, editing, implementation, game design and level design are handled by the developer.
Ai used to create the Steam page art and all the cards art in the game.
Some promotional images on the store page were generated with AI and are used only to represent the game’s overall mood and visual direction. They may not fully reflect the final in-game content. The game’s visuals, gameplay, and assets are still in development and may change before release.
AI models have been used to validate, optimize, rank and test the puzzles and the simulation engine. Soundtrack is procedurally generated music using the same engine that simulates the electronics, powered by the C~ language.
The voice lines in this game were generated using AI text-to-speech tools. We are a small team of two people, and professional voice acting was beyond the budget of this project.
I'm a solo developer, not an artist or musician. So I used AI to help create some of the artwork and music for this game. Everything else (code, game system, UI design, mission design, story planning, and overall creative direction) is entirely my own work. I also reused some hand-drawn pixel art from my previous game, created entirely without AI. If you prefer games made without generative AI, please check out my previous release. It's entirely human-made, with deeper mechanics and more systems to explore!

Generative AI was used to create some store page images, in-game images, and concept art for certain 3D models. All generated content was reviewed and edited by the development team.
Some of the programming made use of AI tools to assist with identifying bugs. ALL visual assets in this game are 100% HUMAN MADE, from the ground up. All sound effects and music are also 100% made by me, with NO AI. All in-game imagery is entirely human made. The store page graphics and text description are also 100% human made with no AI.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with some of the game's translations and localization. The AI-generated translations were reviewed and edited before being included in the game.
Steam store and library, including capsule images, the logo and icons Gameplay screenshots were captured directly from the game.
This game uses generative AI for: in-game product packaging (bento, ice cream, chips, cup noodles, gummies, gum, chocolate, candy, dried snacks, stationery, sundries, bath salts, hair care and hair color, coffee/tea boxes, drink and can labels, magazine covers, newspaper pages, and so on); full-screen art (title background, intro and epilogue illustrations, character icons, the morning results screen, the store floor plan, skill cards, skill icons, and effect overlays); some UI elements (panels, buttons, tabs); outdoor art and props (night sky panorama, vending machines, signage, banner flags, pavement, building walls, the traffic signal textures and the textures of small props by the entrance); the store capsule art and achievement icons; some 3D models (the radio by the register, the parking wheel stops, the trash bins by the entrance, three parked cars, the traffic lights, the coffee machine, the oden pot, the bun steamer and the bread crates, generated with Meshy and finished by the developer in Blender); and the background music (title and in-store tracks, also used in the trailer), generated with Suno and selected and arranged by the developer. Used minimal AI to assist in the creation.
Features generated texturework.
Used only to generate some images.
Machine translation programs have been used for translations into the various languages, except for Spanish and English.
Translations were made with the help of AI tools and reviewed.
We use generative AI across all disciplines of game development most often with heavy amounts of human editing. That involves audio and visual art, our logo, and localization. We use it as a productivity tool so we can achieve a higher level of quality, faster, than we would have been able to.
Trading-card illustrations and promotional artwork were created with generative AI. Trailer music and sound effects were also generated with AI. All assets are pre-generated; no AI content is generated during gameplay, and the game does not connect to an AI service.
Generative AI was used to create cover textures for the game's fictional movies, games and VHS tapes, as well as some movie posters and video content. As a solo indie developer, I used these tools to make a cover library of this scale feasible.
AI has been used to enhance the quality of some store and marketing elements.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with programming, debugging, and creating or refining some in-game assets.
Some of the images on our store page were created by artificial intelligence and edits were made on the images. and some images in the game were made by artificial intelligence.
Some visual assets used in the game and/or its promotional materials were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and were reviewed and edited by the developer before use.
All 3D models, music, and UI icons were created by humans. Generative AI was used for some in-game textures, localization, and translation.
Generative AI tools assisted with programming and the code used to create some in-game assets, as well as drafting and translating the store description and creating title lettering for store and library artwork. Screenshots and capsule backgrounds are captured directly from gameplay. The game does not generate AI content during play.
Some of the text in this game was created with the help of generative AI tools. - In-game text: Korean dialogue, stage narration and help text were drafted with an AI assistant, then rewritten and reviewed by the developer. - Localization: the English text was produced with AI assistance and reviewed by the developer. All artwork and UI icons are hand-authored by the developer, the sound effects are synthesized procedurally in code, and the background music is a licensed stock track. No AI runs during gameplay — all content is fixed at build time. - Store page: the store description text was drafted with AI assistance and edited by the developer.
Some of the in game textures are a mix of handmade and LLM generated assets, for instance the standard nutritional information on the the tea-boxes. We plan to remove any LLM assets until release.
Generative AI tools were used during development to create artwork, logos, and promotional images.
I have used generative AI to help with localisation. NO AI was used to generate any other content, such as artwork, cover art, or store page assets.
Cover arts are IA generated, inspired on the covers from the original games.
Some of this game's content was created with the assistance of generative AI tools and was then reviewed, edited and curated by the developer. This includes a portion of the 3D weapon and armor models (generated with AI 3D tools and hand-adjusted), the game logo and store/marketing artwork (AI image tools), and the translation of interface text into languages other than Turkish and English. No content is generated by AI at runtime and the game does not connect to any AI service.

Generative AI tools were used to assist in the creation of some 3D models and textures in this game. All such content was pre-generated during development, reviewed and adjusted as necessary by the developer before being included in the game. The game does not use generative AI to generate content during gameplay.
Headlines are fictional, written offline with the help of a language model, and reviewed before they ship. Nothing is generated while you play.
Pre-generated AI tools were used during development to assist with portions of source code and localization, and to create the store capsule/key artwork. All outputs were reviewed, edited, and curated by the developers. The game's playable visuals are rendered procedurally by the shipped code. The product contains no live-generative AI, does not accept AI prompts from players, and does not send player data to an AI service.
We are actively working to replace all placeholder AI art before launch. While we aim for a fully human-crafted experience, a few minor assets may still remain at release. AI tools were also used to assist with localizing the game and store page. All 3D in-game art was created by human artists or derived from real-world museum photoscans. (See the credits menu for full attributions.)
During the development of Cash & Stash: A Vaultkeeper Story, we used tools that include AI-assisted features to help streamline production. However, no game content was created using generative AI.
