Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
I Had A Plan! uses human-made sprites and assets, but uses AI to transform voices for most (non narrator/GM) characters. These were still recorded by the developer, but then transformed to sound like other people using AI. AI was also used to lip sync those voices.
All of the art used in Zero Division is commissioned from (human) artists. However, one of the artists uses generative AI tools in the production of the commissioned work.
Human creation and the use of AI :
➧ 100% of the game's sounds were purchased and designed by humans.
➧ 100% of the animations VFX were purchased and designed by humans.
➧ 100% of the interface was designed, customized, and integrated by me over more than two years of meticulous, case-by-case attention, representing thousands of hours of work. These interface elements come from numerous resource packs purchased online from human artists such as Kodiac Graphics and his amazing Mercenary GUI https://kodiakgraphics.itch.io/mercenary-rpg-gui or PONETI and his 4000 icons https://poneti.artstation.com/store/zVzR/4000-fantasy-icons or PVGames and his trully unique 2D Srpites used as cosmetic in-game coat of arms appearances, REXARD https://assetstore.unity.com/publishers/13229 Dream Circle for hundreds of incredible animations vfx https://dreams-circle.itch.io/ And many more !
Generative AI was used to create backgrounds images such as class backgrounds, menu backgrounds, battle backgrounds. I recently updated the sprites of all the enemies in the game using generative AI; the retro 3D rendering is incredible and perfectly matches the art style.
All this represents approximately 15% of the game's graphics assets. But this was done carefully and sparingly, and in conjunction with human work and my artistic direction.
➧ 100% of the game's music was made by humans
15 Soundtracks by Alexander Nakarada
1 Soundtrack by Wolfgang Muermann

The poetry in Verses of Enchantment is generated using a custom AI model trained on curated public domain texts.
All other content (art, sound, dialogues, animation, ...) is created by humans and is attributed to them.
Full screen pictures where made using AI during the EA / prototype of the game, we are in the process of replacing them all with our artists.
Everything else is handmade.
AI generated images have been used to as a starting point for icons, characters, and elements of some backgrounds. In nearly every case images are then digitally painted over to remove unwanted artifacts and give all the artwork a similar style. Every effort has been made to produce unique content that does not infringe on any copyright.
This game heavily uses AI to live-generate in-game content such as text, images, and sound effects. It also uses AI to make a variety of game mechanics decisions in real time.
AI was used to reduce time investment in illustration art. The AI art can be seen in various UI elements where illustrations are present. Please note, all of the AI art you see wasn't merely generated and thrown into the game, it obviously needed a fairly extensive degree of retouching.
1. We used ChatGPT-4 to make some custom javascript plugins.
2. Used ChatGPT-4/DALL-E3 to generate some of the faces of NPC's, also some icons for the system menu.
I added scenes and images improved with Generative Artificial Intelligence.
They are locally generated using Stable diffusion, without resorting to paying any generative AI company. Although paying them could have given me better tools and results, I decided not to pay for their use to support the claim of artists for fair royalties. (It is not possible to discuss such a complex issue here, but I will consider opening a discussion on the topic in the game forum, follow my game to be notified if it is created)
Most of the artistic content in the game, mainly music, is compensated in various ways depending on the case to its artists.
My original content is registered, but the images generated by AI are essentially treated as 'creative commons' and I consider them fanarts of my characters.
All added scenes and backgrounds are of high quality and maintain good coherence, avoiding deformities in hands, eyes, etc., and without annoying or confusing shapes.
All AI-generated images are generated, selected, and edited exclusively by me, the creator of the game, to reflect my original vision, previously inaccessible due to high costs.
I have sought to include only select content that enriches the narrative and immersion of the game.
During the development phase, some placeholder voices and vocal prototypes are generated using AI tools. These are used solely for iteration, testing, and internal production workflows.
For the final release, all characters will be voiced by professional voice actors.
1. Artistic assets are generated with the assistance of AI. (Can be completely removed from the inside mod page)
2. The localized text is translated with the assistance of artificial intelligence.
Erannorth Chronicles is a solo development effort that uses thousands of licensed stock artworks, sound effects, and music from various artists. Some of these graphical assets, such as card art, UI elements, and event covers, could have been created using generative AI technologies or AI-based tools by their creators. Don't buy this game if you are not comfortable with this possibility.
A majority of the static image content, the character portrait animations in the Character Select screen, and some flavor text on playable cards, had AI play a role in their development.
Some notable exceptions to this are:
The card frame artwork for all cards, which were created by a contracted artist.
Our capsule and header images, which were created by a contracted artist.
Some enemy portraits.
Marketing materials which include artwork from the capsule and header.
All narrative and dialogue text, which was written by the team.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the select family and friends who volunteered their likenesses for use as models for some of our main characters. It is deeply appreciated and we enjoyed working with you.
Some of our card art was produced with AI-generated images which our artists painted over and edited before animating the finished card. Some older marketing and website material has been AI-generated as well.
This game was initially developed without using Artificial Intelligence.
Later, I added scenes and images improved with Generative Artificial Intelligence.

Quick note: The capsule art is AI-generated as a temporary placeholder, but I’m already working with an artist to replace and upgrade it with final artwork.
Usage of AI-Generated and Assisted Illustrations in Shadow Empire
Post-release Illustration Creation Process
The developers use Midjourney and Nano Banana to generate high-resolution illustrations for new functionality added post-release, particularly for Vidcom and Stratagem artwork.
These images are often post-processed by hand, as well as enhanced using tools like Magnific, Topaz Labs, or other upscaling and refinement software.
AI in Post-release Portrait Art
Portraits: A base image is generated using Midjourney with a generic prompt such as “portrait of young woman, military.”
Smaller parts (eyes, nose, mouth, hair, etc.) are overlaid using DALL·E to create variations.
Aging effects are achieved by rendering an older skin texture with partial transparency over the younger base face. The older the character, the more opaque the overlay becomes. (Note: Eyes and lips often retain a youthful appearance.)
This effect is gradually applied using a limited number of sprite layers, allowing nuanced visual transitions.
AI-Generated Art in Post-release Game Content
The game includes AI-generated and AI-assisted illustrations for Vidcoms and Stratagems.
All such AI-generated art is pre-generated — no generative AI tools are called or used in real-time by the game itself.
The intention is to provide players with an option to toggle between the original and updated AI-enhanced graphics via preferences. (Note: This is an aim and may not yet apply to all content.)
No generative AI is used to write content or produce any kind of imagery or assets for the game.
For localization, we hire professional translators with AI tools to reduce the workload. Final translations include both machine-translated text that's been human-reviewed and directly human-translated text (e.g. "The megacorps created Cyber Knights as the first quantum-secure data couriers").
