Public Steam disclosure research 25,514 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

This project is, above all, a personal creation, driven by a clear artistic vision and specific game design intentions. During the development process, I used artificial intelligence tools as production assistants, particularly to speed up certain technical tasks (such as coding support) and to explore visual ideas. All generated elements were then carefully selected, refined, and integrated to ensure consistency with the project's artistic direction and game design. The AI did not design the game: it simply served as a tool among others in the creative process, just like a game engine, graphic software, or a code library. Thank you for supporting independent projects and creative experimentation. Franck
Tools were used to enhance my creativity, I produced and refined various assets and ideas through the help of Generative AI.
Some music was created using AI;
- coding - posters
A small portion of the background music in this project utilizes AI-assisted tools (Suno) to enrich the atmospheric layers. In these specific tracks, the AI serves solely as a creative catalyst for melodic inspiration, acting as a sensory supplement to the hand-drawn artistic journey. The developer maintains absolute creative sovereignty over all core assets, including every frame of illustration and line of dialogue.
Partial music, sound effects, and localization translation
This game uses AI for multilingual translations (English and Simplified Chinese) and some of its assets.

Audio (Sound Effects and Background Music) generated using AI.
The game has AI rendered pictures for the NPC characters.
This game uses AI-generated content: Pre-generated AI use: - Marketing visuals (Steam capsules, banners, page background) were generated with AI image models, then manually edited and composited. - Some in-game art assets (item icons, enemy portraits, environment elements) were AI-generated and edited/integrated by hand. - All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer before shipping. Not AI-generated: - Game design, mechanics, balance, progression systems, lore, world-building. - UI/UX layouts and interaction flows. No live/runtime AI: the game does not run AI models during play. Nothing you do in-game contacts an LLM or image generator.
AI-generated content was used for code, images, 3D models, and translate.
We use generative AI only for temporary placeholder images during development. All AI-generated placeholders will be removed and replaced with human-created artwork before release.
The game to contain art assets generated by artificial intelligence
AI helps with localization
Artificial intelligence (AI) was leveraged for key aspects of the game's development, including in-game logic, support systems, and certain artistic assets.
Some localization for languages other than Japanese was initially created using machine translation tools. These translations may be revised or replaced with human translations in future updates. No AI-generated content was used for the game's artwork, audio, or story.
It has only been used in localization and specific visual references
Sound-tracks were created with the assistance of diffusion generation.
Some of the character portraits, background images, and item images in this game were generated using niji・journey and Canva AI, and were later refined and edited by an artist.
Artificial intelligence tools were used during certain stages of the development of The Letter as supportive tools to assist the creative process. AI was primarily utilized for concept ideation, early visual references, and iterative design exploration. These tools helped accelerate prototyping, generate visual inspiration, and assist with writing drafts during early development phases. However, all core gameplay systems, narrative design, environmental storytelling, and final artistic direction were created, reviewed, and curated by the developer. AI tools were used as creative assistants rather than autonomous content generators, ensuring that the final experience remains a carefully crafted and human-directed project.
The development of the game was supported by AI in some areas to improve efficiency and quality. AI was used to write code and debug, as well as for performance optimization. It also contributed to the creation of 2D graphics for the shop area and the generation of background sounds. In addition, AI played a role in automating translations thus contributing to the realization of the game for a single developer.
The images for the steam store were created using concept images, some of which were ai-generated. And the text for the steam store page was translated using google translate. Except for english, dutch/nederlands, and german/deutsch.
Generative AI was used to assist with some promotional visuals, such as logo and store page imagery. Tide Fall also includes commercially licensed marketplace assets. All gameplay systems and game development are created and implemented by me

The soundtrack/music was made with Suno Pro. Some sounds were made with Krotos Pro, which is mostly not ai but has ai elements for some sounds. The sprites were made with Dall-E.
Some art and localization were aided by AI.
Some promotional and visual assets, such as logos or marketing materials, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All gameplay systems, mechanics, and core game content were developed manually.
AI tools were used to assist with writing game narrative and event text during development. All style guides directing tone, humor, and historical relevance were created by the developer and all content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer.
AI was used only for creating a small number of store page promotional images (capsule and marketing visuals). All in-game content, including gameplay, visuals, and assets, was created manually by the developer or uses properly licensed assets. No AI is used during gameplay.
The game uses ai for some assets in the game.
Game descriptions, text translations, and some images (excluding textures) are made with the assistance of artificial intelligence, while all other in-game resources are handmade
This game makes extensive use of generative artificial intelligence tools during development from concepting, writing support, assets prototyping, animation and sound design. All AI-assisted content is curated, modified, refined, and integrated by the developer to ensure artistic cohesion, gameplay integrity, and thematic consistency. The final gameplay experience is not dynamically generated by AI at runtime. The game does not use generative AI to create player-specific content during live play, and no player data is used to train AI systems. Generative AI tools were used as creative and production accelerators within a human-directed development process.
Generative AI is used to create base materials for certain image assets, including character portraits, enemies, and UI. These generated images are not used as-is; they undergo manual processing such as retouching or animation before being implemented into the game.
The Steam library and store pages use AI generated graphic elements, but the game itself doesn't. All graphics in the game are hand made, created by our graphics designer in our self developed editor.
Certain early-stage visual or audio assets were created using generative AI tools as part of the development workflow. All such content has been manually edited and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Background images and BGM are generated using AI.
AI was used in coding tools, placeholder art, and marketing mockups.
AI-generated paintings were used in the game prototype to populate the manor’s interiors.
Primary audio soundtrack developed with Suno. Some effects using elevenlabs.
