Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

During the development of this game, AI tools were used solely as a coding assistance aid — primarily to help identify and fix minor bugs, and to assist with small code corrections and improvements. AI was not used to generate any content experienced by the player, including visual assets, audio, narrative or in-game text. All artwork, sound, and written content presented to the player are original and human-created. The AI usage disclosed here is limited to development-side coding assistance and does not appear as generated content within the final player-facing experience.
Generative AI was used to create some in-game character artwork and to assist with voice-over and subtitle creation.
AI tool assisted in translating the store page into 15 different languages. We do NOT use AI-generated art, and we never intentionally include AI assets in our game. We sometimes buy assets and use stock photos. We do our best to verify them, but nowadays, distinguishing AI from human-made art can be hard. That said, if there is any specific artwork that you believe looks like AI or raises concerns, we would appreciate it if you could point it out on our Discord server. We will investigate and replace anything that might have slipped through. AI-generated art is NOT something we want to include in our game.
Gildoria uses AI-assisted tools in parts of its development: some UI icons were made with AI image generation, the in-game text was translated with AI translation tools. All of it was reviewed and edited by the developer. 3D art, level design, game design and codes are human-made or licensed. No content is generated by AI while the game runs.
The core gameplay, rules, progression structure, level objectives, and detailed level designs were created, reviewed, and finalized by the human development team. Generative AI was used only as a development aid for research and reference gathering, code assistance, and the initial creation of visual assets and in-game scene images. All AI-assisted content was manually selected, edited, integrated, and reviewed before being included in the game.
Some code and marketing content may be generated by AI.
Some visual assets and music in Buzzoria were created with the assistance of generative AI tools.
AI tools were used to assist with some of the game’s translations and in the creation of two in-game textures. These textures were subsequently edited, refined, and carefully reviewed by a human before being included in the final game. We strictly rely on human creativity and craftsmanship throughout the game’s development.
Within the game, we only used AI to assist with translations into different languages and to create the names and designs of the bottle brands. We use AI solely as a supportive tool. We do not let AI handle the entire process for any task.
This game uses content created or assisted by generative AI. Generative AI was used to help create and edit some visual assets, music/sound materials, and scripts. All final content was reviewed, selected, and adjusted by the developer before being included in the game.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with enhancing certain texture assets. All final assets were reviewed and tweaked by the developer.
Generative AI was used only for in-game text localization and translation.

AI was primarily used to assist in the creation of the game's music and sound effects. Most of the music tracks and sound effects were generated using AI tools and then edited and adapted for use in the game. All visual assets, characters, environments, puzzles, story, and gameplay mechanics were created and designed manually by the developer.
Some of the content in Broken Pixel was created using generative AI. All of it was produced during development, reviewed by us, and shipped as fixed, pre-generated assets — no AI runs while you play. - Story narration: the roughly ten hours of spoken narration were generated with an AI text-to-speech model (ElevenLabs). The scripts were written with AI assistance and edited by hand. - Player avatars: the 3D character avatars were generated with an AI image-to-3D tool (Meshy). - Store & marketing art: the capsule and marketing images were generated with an AI image model (Runware / fal.ai). - Soundtrack: the lounge soundtrack was generated with an AI music model (Mureka). The gameplay itself contains no AI-generated content — every room, screen, painting and level layout is built by traditional procedural code. Nothing is generated live, and the game never connects to an AI service while you play.
AI assistants were used as a support tool for creating parts of the store page description and promotional text for this game.
Some Steam store, library, icon, and marketing images for this game were created with generative AI and then reviewed and edited for the dinosaur museum theme. The game does not use real-time generative AI during gameplay.
We use AI tools only to demonstrate the game's feel, for marketing materials, and to optimise development. 3D models, UI, characters, robot enemies, the main soundtrack and other key elements of the game are lovingly crafted by our team. Yes, we're not the fastest indie developers in the world. But we're working hard for you! ^_^
Some visual assets in the game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then curated and edited by the developer: certain environment textures, the loading splash image, several 3D prop models, some UI icons, and store page artwork. All AI-assisted content is pre-rendered and shipped with the game — the game does not generate any content at runtime, and AI is not used in gameplay, chat, or any live systems.
Generative AI has only been used in the process of localization to serve our international players. We are trying our best to minimalize through out the process of localization.
Emergence uses generative AI as a development tool. It has been used to assist in the creation of certain visual assets (illustrations, icons, and concept art), text, and to help with software development and feature prototyping. All content included in the game is reviewed, edited, approved, and ultimately authored by the developer. Generative AI is not used to create player-facing content during gameplay unless explicitly stated in the game's feature descriptions.

Generative AI tools (img2img / AI styling) were used to enhance and stylize original, hand-created base artwork and concept sketches into finalized high-fidelity assets.
I asked to AI review my code and do some fixes, because 6000 code lines in C++ is kinda easy to lose yourself.
Some visual assets and UI elements were created with the assistance of AI tools during development. When you are trapped inside a machine, you must use the machine's tools. We are sorry. It was the only way to reach you.
We use AI as a creative assistant to refine our English descriptions and ensure they are easy to read and engaging (since we are not native speakers). In addition, some of the game’s illustrations were created with the help of generative AI tools and later refined by human artists.
During the development of El sonido de un sueño, generative AI tools were used as support for the creation and prototyping of some game assets, including 3D models, visual elements, music and programming assistance. All AI-generated or AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, integrated and manually adjusted by the development team before being included in the game. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay. No text, images, music, dialogue or narrative decisions are generated by AI while the player is playing.
Some images are maded with AI
Pre-generated generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating and editing some 2D visual assets, including backgrounds, character images, scene variations, and promotional artwork. AI tools were also used to assist with drafting, editing, and localization of some text. All final content was selected, reviewed, and edited by the developer before inclusion. No generative AI is used during gameplay, and players cannot generate content in the game.

The textures used for the game packaging are AI-generated and have been manually retouched.
We used AI to translate the in-game text into other languages, and to write the store page description and translate it into other languages.
Two-Dye has been developed with the assistance of AI tools that has helped with Graphical assets, sounds and localization.
Generative AI was used for brainstorming concepts and ideas during the design process, as well as for creating a few 2D visual assets and posters within the game environment.
Used only for cover images.

A limited amount of generative AI was used to assist with creating some decorative in-game poster artwork. The game's environments, level design, gameplay mechanics, and overall world-building were handcrafted by the developer.
The game's concept, worldbuilding, narrative, game design, and art direction were planned and developed directly by the development team. Generative AI was used as an assistive tool in the production and refinement of pre-generated content, including character and environment imagery, cinematic sequences, anomaly effects, and selected music. All content, including AI-assisted outputs, was curated, edited, composited, and post-processed by the development team to align with the game's creative intent and quality standards. The game does not use generative AI at runtime, and no player input or personal data is sent to AI services.
Generative AI tools were used during the development of this game to assist in creating background marketing materials and promotional store assets. Additionally, AI was utilized as a supportive tool for code optimization, bug-hunting, development consulting, and text localization. While the vast majority of the game's assets were created using traditional development methods, players may encounter a small number of AI-generated assets integrated within the game itself. No AI content is generated in real-time during gameplay.
