Generative AI was used during development to assist in creating some pre-generated content, including certain visual assets, music and sound assets, as well as some text and localization content. All such content was generated during development and was reviewed, selected, edited, adjusted, and integrated by the developer before being included in the game. The game does not use generative AI at runtime and does not generate new text, images, audio, or other game content dynamically in response to player input.
The music, a few sound effects. And very few of the menus have been created using AI. I know that many communities hate games with AI. And yes, lads, I’ve used it. But I can assure you that 90 per cent of the game has been lovingly crafted by a developer.
Artificial intelligence helped write the script
As an individual developer, during development of this game, AI tools were heavily used. I disclose this honestly and transparently. 1. In-Game Assets Illustrations & Art: Unit portraits and the opening cinematic illustrations were generated using AI image models, then manually curated, retouched, and unified in style. All assets were human-reviewed under strict art direction to ensure historical tone and consistency. Opening Cinematic: Subtle motion effects on the illustrations were produced with an AI image-to-video model and assembled by using the Remotion pipeline. Background Music: The soundtrack was generated by an AI music model in multiple takes, then human-selected, mixed, and mastered. Telegram Voice-overs: The historical telegram voice-overs in-game were synthesized by an AI TTS system. Each character's reference voice was human-approved through listening tests before use. 2. Development Assistance Code: Game code was written and debugged with the aid of AI coding assistants. All code was human-reviewed and validated through automated testing. Localization: The game supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English. The English text was AI-drafted and human-proofread. 3. What Is NOT AI-Generated Historical Text: The telegrams in-game are taken from historical archives, 34 are verbatim transcriptions of the original documents, and 12 were written based on the sources. They were not AI-generated. Terrain & Map: The battlefield map was procedurally rendered from real elevation data (SRTM), not generated by AI. Game Balance & Statistics: Troop strength, Unit Introduction, and values were researched and set manually from historical sources, cross-checked for accuracy and play balance.
We use AI tools as part of our developer workflow, in some cases for generative textures, 2D or 3D placeholders, in other cases for actual designs to be used in the game, this can also be a mix of both.
Marketing Material
this game is made by ai
Brainrot Fire uses generative AI to assist with translating in-game text and interface content into multiple languages, helping us support a wider range of players around the world.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with the creation of some visual and promotional assets, including artwork used on the Steam store page and marketing materials. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and curated by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
The store artwork (capsules and key art) was generated with an image model and then composed, cropped and combined with our own logo by hand. The game's ambient background music tracks were generated with an AI music tool and edited afterwards.
Generative AI was used only to assist with drafting and translating written text for the Steam store page. No in-game artwork, audio, gameplay assets, or runtime content is generated by AI.
**Pre-Generated AI Content** Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating some of the pre-generated content included in the game. The AI-assisted content includes images, music, written text, and translations. All AI-assisted content was generated before release and is included in the game as fixed assets or data. The developer reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated the content before including it in the product. No content is generated by AI while the game is running. The developer reviewed the included content and only incorporated material believed to have the necessary rights for distribution. Third-party copyrighted characters, trademarks, or other protected material were not intentionally requested or included. **Live-Generated AI Content** The game does not use live-generated AI. It does not connect to any generative AI service or generate AI-assisted content while the game is running.
We’d like to be transparent about the localization of THE WRONG WAY ROUND. Some of the game’s translations have been created with the assistance of AI and then reviewed and adjusted by us. This allows us to make the game available to more players and support more languages than we could otherwise manage. We’re continuously improving the translations and really appreciate any feedback from native speakers.
Use AI to provide certain assistance.
The game does not generate any content with AI at runtime. Some illustrations and some in-game artwork were pre-generated using generative AI image tools, then curated, edited and integrated by our team. All game design, code, writing and final art direction are human-made.
AI helps me create textures or sounds.
A small number of static meshes in this demo were generated using AI tools. This AI-generated content is temporary and will be fully replaced with original, non-AI assets in future updates. By the time the full game is released, it will contain no AI-generated content.
Spring Tales uses generative AI in the following way: Some of the game's 2D pixel-art assets — including certain characters, enemies, equipment and item icons, environment tiles, and user-interface elements — were created with the help of an AI-assisted art generation tool. Every AI-assisted asset was reviewed, edited, curated, and integrated by the developer to match the game's art style and quality standards. No generative AI runs live during gameplay. The game does not generate any content in real time while you play — all art, text, and content shipped in the game is fixed and was produced during development.
Artificial intelligence has been used solely to generate certain 2D icons used in the game's menus, such as icons for weapon upgrades, artifacts, and similar elements. AI has not been used under any circumstances to generate 3D models, user interfaces, in-game menus, weapons, enemies, environments, animations, VFX, or any other playable content or assets. The use of AI is strictly limited to specific 2D icons of a visual and informational nature within the interface.
We use about 15 seconds of AI footage in our trailer. All assets in the game are human authored. We also use a local, small and offline LLM (meaning: no data ever leaves your computer, and it does not cause significant performance drops) as a Director that controls: enemy spawn and frequency of challenges, essentially choosing when to press with difficulty and when to hold the challenge based on parameters such as player frustration, boredom and an emergence metric. This mechanic does not generate any text, narrative or story: it is just a mechanic that controls game balance to ensure the best challenge. And you can turn it off on the settings menu, if you want.
In ALASH, we utilized generative AI as a supplementary tool to assist in creating 2D art assets. Specifically, AI networks were used to help develop certain environment elements, textures, and background images to enhance the unique visual style of our alternate history setting. Please note that all game design, core mechanics, storyline, tower defense logic, and programming code were created entirely by hand by our development team. AI was used solely to support our artistic vision, ensuring that the integrity and soul of the gameplay remain entirely human-made.
Some of the capsule art was helped brought to life with AI for store page only no Generative AI Is used in the actual game itself.
Generative AI tools were used during development for ideation and drafting/editing some marketing or descriptive text. All final content is reviewed and edited by the development team. The game does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.
Some of the game's visual assets (tilesets, textures, sprites) were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools (PixelLab), then manually edited and integrated by the developer. No AI is used to generate content at runtime or during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with programming and to create some pre-generated visual assets, including icons, illustrations, and sprite artwork. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Some of the displayed visuals were generated with the assistance of AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with refining some text, code, and images. Some in-game textures were also generated using AI. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Some limited AI tools are use in research and debugging
Generative AI tools have been used in a limited capacity to assist with pre-generated promotional content. All AI-assisted material is reviewed and curated by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
Some of this game’s art assets (such as characters, environments, and UI icons) were initially created with the assistance of generative AI tools, which were used to produce concept art or source drafts. All assets were then manually reworked by the developers in software such as GIMP, including redrawing outlines, adjusting colors, correcting details, and unifying the art style. The game does not use AI to generate content in real time during gameplay.
Art: AI image tools assisted with 2D assets/icons; all final art was will be replaced by our artists based on original designs and concept. Localization: Core languages were translated by our team; additional languages use AI-assisted translation. This currently includes some 2D art assets (character, enemy, maps, and environment artwork and a few remaining icons), achievement icons and store artwork, and AI-assisted translation of the game's text into languages beyond the original Arabic & English, with human review. The in-game credits include an AI usage disclosure. The game does not generate any content at runtime (no live AI-generated content) Note: We are deliberately moving away from AI-generated assets. The AI-generated UI art set (themed frames, buttons and panel artwork) has already been removed from the build because it did not fit the game's art direction, and the interface now uses normal unity built elements; we will share that set only as a design concept while we look for an artist to rebuild the interface art from scratch. Our intent is to replace the remaining AI-generated images with original, non-AI artwork. We currently rely on AI only as a temporary baseline until we can work with experienced artists in Middle Eastern art to create the final assets.
