Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
There may be assets/code created by generative AI.
AI was used to help make some assets for in game playability but they are heavily edited before importing into the engine for correct functionality.
I have used AI to generate images and translate texts.
Music and marketing images.
Luna: Obscura is my creative vision (SOSOROS). I designed and built the game's world, levels, creatures, and visual identity over two years. ANORMIC joined in the final year to handle programming and sound design. The art on the walls: Every painting and sculpture you encounter inside the base is an original, physical artwork. Acrylics painted by hand, sculptures made by hand, by me. No AI, no prints of someone else's work. They existed in the real world before they existed on the moon. Cover art: The key art combines in-engine 3D renders, AI-assisted generation trained exclusively on my own handmade artworks and 3D sculpts, and extensive manual overpaint and compositing in Photoshop. Cinematic sequences: The in-game sequences are hybrids, built from direct in-engine screenshots of our own levels and creatures, extended through AI generation. I'm not an animator, and producing these any other way was beyond the scope of a two-person project. I hope the results speak for themselves. Sound effects & enemy audio: The vast majority of audio was composed and engineered by ANORMIC. For the game's altered human enemies (lunatics whose minds have been overtaken) we made a deliberate artistic choice to use AI-generated vocal sounds. The result is audio that feels disturbingly human but remains completely incomprehensible. AI voice sits in an uncanny valley, and that's exactly where these creatures live. This was a creative decision, not a compromise. Remaining environmental assets were licensed through the Unreal Engine Marketplace. Everything else, the levels, the creatures, the paintings, the world, is human made. And yes, there's a contradiction here. A statement against AI in art, inside a game that used it. I won't pretend otherwise. These two years were me testing that edge firsthand: I used these tools, learned what they can genuinely do, and somewhere along the way my conscience gave me the answer. Even where the hybrid approach worked, and I think the sequences are an honest use of it, I'd rather learn to rig and animate myself for the next project, even if the result is rougher. I stand with artists, and I'd rather earn my skills than borrow them. Sometimes you have to cross a line to understand exactly where it should be drawn. Where we stand: We're not against AI. We use it gladly where it belongs: code, tools, concepting aid, the invisible machinery of production, the same way we welcome it in medicine and science. But art is different. As creators whose own work has potentially been scraped to train these models without consent, we understand the weight of this disclosure more than most. Our position for future projects is firm: AI should not be in the end result, and where reality forces a compromise, it must remain a hybrid, grounded in our own hands and our own source material, never a replacement for them. We made honest decisions, we're transparent about every one of them, and we stand behind the result. The goal is simple: just the work.
AI was used during development as an assistant for coding and polishing written content.
Generative AI was used to create 2D image assets (such as textures and portraits) solely for minor in-game props, specifically the employee ID cards.
Some visual assets in this game (including 19 case file illustrations and the game icon) were created using generative AI tools during development and are embedded as static assets. The game does not use any real-time AI generation during gameplay. All player experiences are consistent and reproducible.
Several animated videos and images in this game were generated using artificial intelligence tools.
After I personally finalized the design phase, some art assets were first rendered using generative AI tools, and I then manually refined and detailed them. Similarly, certain background music pieces were developed with the help of generative AI tools. Should you have any concerns about these methods, please feel free to experience the game according to your own preferences. Thank you for your understanding and consideration.

AI-generated artifacts
Some elements of this game were created using generative AI. The game also utilizes AI-powered upscaling technology provided by GPU manufacturers.
Artwork, Sound design, Music, Gameplay and Programming are human-created. AI was used to pre-plan artwork, editing/extending images, generating background sounds and music, and to speed up coding. AI images are being temporarily used in the Steam Store presence and will be removed and replaced before game's release.
Some visual assets used for HackMeNow’s Steam store page, community assets, and marketing materials were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then reviewed/selected by the developer. The game itself does not use live generative AI during gameplay. No AI system generates player-facing text, images, audio, code, missions, or other dynamic content while the game is being played.
Artificial intelligence (AI) was leveraged for key aspects of the game's development, including in-game logic, support systems, and certain artistic assets.
Clairval uses AI in the following limited ways: 1) Optional AI bot players: When a game host enables "Allow AI players", the server may fill empty seats with computer-controlled bot accounts at game start. These bots follow scripted server-side game logic (votes, night actions, chat). They are not powered by generative AI or large language models, and they do not learn from player conversations. 2) AI-generated visual assets (optional): Some provisional role card illustrations (placeholder JPG artwork) were created with AI-assisted tools during development. Final redrafted role cards (PNG) are human-made and always shown. Players can disable display of AI-generated placeholder art at any time in Account Settings → "Display AI-generated content?" (default: hidden until the player opts in). Clairval does not use generative AI to create in-match dialogue, role assignments, game outcomes, moderation decisions, or real-time gameplay content. All core game rules and results are determined by the game server.
Localization powered by AI
all the pictures are generated by artificial intelligence.
The current prototype of Docket 87 includes some temporary AI-assisted visual materials, mainly fictional photographic and video evidence used to test the tone, format and workflow of the case files. These materials are pre-generated, curated and edited by the development team. They are not generated during gameplay, and AI is not used to dynamically create story, dialogue, puzzles, music, sound effects, programming or player-specific content. For the final commercial release, all evidence assets will follow a rights-cleared production pipeline. If any AI-assisted material remains in the final game, it will be created with commercially licensed tools, transformed through human art direction, editing and retouching, and reviewed to avoid copyrighted images, real people, private individuals, artist-specific styles, brands or third-party intellectual property.
Some of the game's art, including character illustrations and environments, was created using AI.
Entire story, dialogues, codes are hand-crafted by human developers. Most of in-game UI and arts were refined by our human art designer, while AI-based tools supported the initial bases for character illustrations, card illustrations, and visual novel backgrounds.
This game uses pre-generated AI-assisted assets in some development and marketing materials, including draft visuals, voice work, localization support, and production references. Final content is reviewed and curated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.

I used AI to create the Steam header and library capsules; along with the simple loading animation when the game starts after the player clicks play.
I use ElevenLabs to create sound effects as well as the voice changing effects. I recorded the lines in the game and used ElevenLabs to alter my voice into the characters you will here in this game. The main character Mesh, some interactable mesh's as well as the main entity within this game were initially generated in MeshyAI and edited by myself in Blender.
The AI is used to converse with the NPCs, the images were generated with the help of AI
AI was used to generate a few minor quest item icons. All other assets, code, and character designs are handcrafted or licensed.
This game contains pre-generated AI content. Visual assets, including backgrounds, UI elements, achievement icons, and certain in-game illustrations, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and integrated into the final game by the developer.
The only use of AI has been to translate the game subtitles and menus. The translation has then been reviewed in Polish and French by native speakers, but might contain oddities in the other supported languages.
Generative AI used for only localization on interfaces and subtitles.
This game uses AI to generate some images.
The steam capsule artwork.
Some visual assets, promotional images, and store page materials may include AI-assisted generated elements that were further edited and refined by the development team. AI is not used to generate gameplay, player interactions, or real-time in-game content.
AI have been used to generate/improve a few posters and paints visible in the environnement. These images were first drawn by internal game artist of the team. Voices have been generated with AI.
The game's initial photos were taken from free resources and stock photos. AI was used to accelerate image processing to match the game's style, as envisioned by the author.
Some backgrounds, characters, and items were created with the help of AI image generation tools. All AI-generated assets were carefully reviewed, edited, and refined by the developer to fit the game's art style and quality standards.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with writing, reviewing, and improving parts of the game's code. All models, textures, images, sounds, and music used in Single Note are created through human work. The game does not use AI-generated visual assets, audio assets, music, or 3D models. Single Note is developed by a small independent studio, and AI tools were used as development assistance during production. All final implementation decisions, testing, integration, and creative direction are handled by Fanjoy Studio. The game does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.

NPCs powered by LLM models to create unique and real conversations responding to the players voice making the world feel alive.
Chrongrid is a narrative experience product powered by large language models (LLMs). In-game dialogue, scene descriptions, and character responses are generated in real time by an AI model — you can choose a third-party API service (such as DeepSeek, OpenAI, or Anthropic), or run a model locally on your machine via Ollama. You provide your own API credentials and bear the associated costs; we do not operate any server to relay your requests. The AI generates dialogue and descriptive text at runtime, always within the constraints of pre-authored narrative blueprints, characters, and world settings.
Some promotional capsule artwork for the Steam store page was created with the assistance of generative AI tools. No AI-generated content is used during gameplay
