Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) in limited aspects of its development.
Some background images in the game were created with the assistance of AI tools. In addition, AI was used to help translate in-game text into multiple languages. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and integrated by the developer to ensure quality and consistency.
Claude code = Lots of code. Within the game client/server sure, but particularly within our game creation pipeline. It has enabled our artists/unity devs to create their own scripts/tools with blender/unity to streamline our content creation process.
Also, CC used for creating python scripts used for MIDI music composition.
Flux Dev image gen = spell icons.
It did not write this message though :)
During the period from Early Access to Launch this title may use AI for voice in quest dialog as placeholders, prior to launch all AI elements shall be removed should they have existed and replaced.
Generative AI was used to create certain 2D background assets within the game world. This includes some family group photographs used as props, visuals shown on in-game television screens, and decorative wall posters. These AI-generated elements are static environmental assets only and were not used for in-game cinematics, character models, or animations.
I'm building this game on my own, with generative AI tools as finishing and scaling assistants on top of my own creative foundations.
3D mech and monster meshes started as my own concept sketches; Meshy AI generated the base 3D models from those sketches, which I then refined
and animated myself in Blender.
Character voices began as dialogue I wrote and the tone I set — some are my own voice recordings, and for others I used ElevenLabs to alter the voices so they fit each character.
Music tracks each started from vocal melody references I recorded; Lyria (through Gemini) developed those references into the final orchestrated tracks.
Cinematic video sequences were generated by Veo3 from my prompts and storyboards, then fully edited by me in DaVinci Resolve.
I review every AI output before it ships in the game, and I hold commercial-use rights to all generated content per each service's paid-subscription terms.
Artificial Intelligence tools were utilized during the foundational (base) creation stage for the game's visual assets. All generated outputs were then manually refined, re-processed, and enhanced by our artists through hours of dedicated Photoshop-Photopea work to ensure they align perfectly with the game's unique and original art style. We have utilized AI merely as a 'brush' guided by an artist’s touch; therefore, the resulting visuals should be evaluated as successful illustrations driven by human craftsmanship rather than simple AI-generated products.
Generative AI was used during development to draft initial art concepts and assist with the foundation of text localization. All final in-game visual assets were manually refined, edited, and finished in Photoshop to ensure a high-quality, hand-crafted aesthetic. Localization was human-reviewed to ensure accuracy for players.
I used AI for debugging game build errors. Going through thousands lines of error logs and call stacks is not a total nightmare once I get pointed to the right direction.
I also localized steam page using it to some languages.
The game's translation was partially assisted by AI, but all in-game text was created and edited by real people. AI was used to enhance a small portion of the textures, but these were always manually refined afterward and served only as one method to make the textures sharper alongside other hand-made improvements in graphic editors. All images, including signs and drawings on the walls, were commissioned from real artists.
Generative AI tools were used during the development of this game to create some of the 2D visual assets, such as background art and certain environmental textures. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and manually edited by the development team to ensure quality and consistency with the game's overall artistic style.
I use token-prediction tools to help create certain in-game background assets, including environment textures, secondary NPC voices, parts of the soundtrack, and translations into several languages.
There is AI-generated audio used within the game. All AI-generated content is pre-rendered and static. No AI is used to generate visuals, gameplay content, or content at runtime.
I was working on this game for more than 2 years without ai.
I started to use ai 1-2 months ago for:
Due to a lack of capital for professional sounds i bought sound packages and for
some few sounds i used AI software. Depending on the game's success, I will invest in replacing sounds and self-created elements with professional assistance.
AI was used mainly for bug fixing in the code and for translating the game text into different languages.
Generative AI assists in the development of certain base Gaussian-splatted object meshes and is also used as the basis for some interface images and portions of documentation text used in the product. These AI-assisted elements are further reviewed, selected, and integrated into the final game content as part of the development process.
EXD was created by a small independent team over the course of more than three years of development. 99.99% of its content was made entirely by hand, including real-world objects that were physically sculpted and later digitized to be brought into the game world.
A very small number of assets (~30 out of more than 27,000 total) were created by our artists with the help of generative AI tools.
As a solo developer starting out a hobby project, I used different AI generated images early on.
I have since, after deciding to stick with the game, attempted to clean up and change to known license images and content, or make and remake where possible.
During the development and live service of the game, AI-based tools may be utilized to support in game visual content creation, marketing materials, live chat translation features, and partial in-game dialogue and script localization.
In all such cases and regardless of the workflow, the final product is a reflection of our own development team's creativity and artistic expression.
To push the creative boundaries of our small team, we used AI-powered audio tools to assist in the generation of certain audio assets. These assets were heavily curated, edited, and refined by our sound designers to ensure they align perfectly with the game's atmosphere and unique artistic vision.
- To help embellish and shorten the introductory narrative text.
- For localization.
All in-game audiovisual assets have been custom made or edited from non-AI stock resources. Consult the in-game credits menu for more information.
We use AI technologies in a limited capacity during development. AI-assisted tools are used for localization (translation into multiple languages) and for generating some visual assets, such as preview images. The core game content, gameplay design, and the majority of assets are created without the use of AI.
During the development of this game, generative AI is used to create reference materials and support production tasks.
Specifically, AI is utilised when carrying out the following processes.
・ Partial creation of base images used for background art production of Events
・ Partial retouching work of some player images in accordance with license agreements, such as the removal of visual defects on strips.
・ Production of some audio for stadium announcements
・ Generation and copyediting of some text
・ Review of some translations
Across all processes, AI-generated content is only used for support purposes. The final version is always verified and edited by the development team before use.
The quality of all final content is ensured through human evaluation.
We do NOT use AI-generated art, and we never intentionally include AI assets in our game. We sometimes purchase assets and use stock photos. We do our best to verify them, but nowadays, distinguishing AI from human-made art can be hard.
That said, if there is any specific artwork that you believe looks like AI or raises concerns, we would appreciate it if you could point it out on our Discord server. We will investigate and replace anything that might have slipped through.
AI-generated art is NOT something we want to include in our game.
Some development and marketing materials may have been assisted by generative AI during pre-production (concept exploration, references, and drafts). The game does not generate content in real time during gameplay.
Mystic Grove uses generative AI in a limited supporting role for certain pre-rendered content, including music and some 2D visual assets such as skill images, spec node images, and related artwork. The core game itself — including gameplay systems, programming, combat, level design, map creation, and overall development — is solely created by the developer. Mystic Grove does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.
This is a visual novel independently developed by an individual with no budget. It is based on an existing novel, with parts of the narrative text synthesized and refined using AI, which has been repeatedly checked, edited, and approved by the developer. The game's scenes and character models are also AI-generated, and have undergone extensive debugging, deletion, revision, and final confirmation before release to ensure compliance and quality.
