Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI-assisted content was used during development phase
Godwright ships some generative-AI content, all pre-rendered (baked into the build, never live-generated): Localization: the non-English UI text (Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese-BR, Russian, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Indonesian) was machine-translated.
This game was developed using an agentic AI coding tool, the code was written with AI assistance, under the design, direction, and review of the developer. The game contains no AI-generated assets — models and textures are generated procedurally in-engine, audio (sound effects and music) is pre-synthesized with the developer's own non-AI DSP tools, and UI text uses system fonts. No AI content is generated at runtime.
AI is used for localisation purposes.
Some artwork, text drafts, and development materials were assisted by generative AI tools and then reviewed or edited by the developer. Core gameplay rules, player progress, purchases, and account-related decisions are not generated by AI during play.
By My Side is developed by a small independent studio, and we use generative AI as part of our content pipeline: - 3D models — many in-game models (crops, props, buildings, devices and characters) are generated with Meshy AI, then adjusted, scaled and integrated by hand. - Music & sound — parts of the soundtrack and sound effects are created with AI audio tools and curated by us. - Localization — translations are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before release. All AI-generated content is reviewed, edited and curated by the developer before it ships. No generative AI runs live during gameplay — everything is pre-generated and fixed.
AI has been used as a coding assist
AI was used to assist in producing the in-game user-interface text translations for French, Spanish, German and Italian, which were then reviewed for accuracy. The English and Portuguese text is human-authored. All visual art, sound effects and music in NEON SURGE are generated procedurally by our own code — no AI models were used to create art, audio or gameplay assets.
AI tools were used to assist with parts of the background music and artwork during development. In addition, AI-generated translation was used for all languages other than Japanese.
I want to clarify right away that I am not an AI enthusiast, though I understand that this topic can be sensitive for some. Type Or Die uses AI for card icons and sprite animations. All other aspects of the game (design, programming, voice acting, music, interface, and the majority of the artwork) were created manually. If the game achieves a certain level of success after its release, I will hire a specialist artist to handle all of that.
Some marketing and store page artwork (capsule images, avatars and banners) were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. Some audio assets were also generated or assisted with AI tools. All AI-generated assets are reviewed and edited by the developer to ensure quality and consistency with the game's identity.
This game uses generative AI in the production of some pixel art assets, with final adjustments and finishing work carried out by a human.
Due to the very short development time frame (1 month) with a 1 man team some icons and images were AI generated and will be modified before the release.
AI has been used to develop placeholder assets exclusively for game testing. AI has ben used for debugging and optimization.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with visual assets, concept art, icons, textures, voice/audio content, and some marketing materials. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the game or store page.
Generative AI was used to assist in writing and editing some of Subsønic's text, including portions of this store page and its marketing copy. The game's visual art is procedurally generated through code (algorithmic, not generative AI), and its music and sound are licensed or procedurally synthesized.
1. Cover art is created in Unreal Engine and photoshop, and has a detail pass on top of it by AI. 2. Localisation on the steam page is translated by AI. 3. Music is generated by AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in the creation of selected textures, 3D models, 2D graphics, and written text used in the game and on the Steam store page. All AI-assisted assets and text were manually reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer before release. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay and does not generate live content for players.
This game uses generative AI tools in parts of the development and content creation process. Generative AI was used for concept exploration, drafting some 2D image/audio assets, and organizing text ideas. Final in-game content is reviewed and edited by the development team to ensure quality and consistency before release. We comply with applicable laws and platform policies, and will continue to refine or replace relevant content when needed.
This game makes use of AI-assisted tools in the creation of certain visual assets. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed, edited, and adapted by the developer to fit the artistic vision of the game.
We will use AI-generated marketing images for our promotional visuals. These will be applied in the following locations: the main promotional banner, vertical promotional banner, library promotional banner, library profile image, and library homepage image on the store page. The original materials are self-created and will be processed with AI for subsequent use. The game includes some UI icons /3D Asset that were initially generated by AI and subsequently edited manually for further application.
Hire uses AI for its live character conversations and generated portraits, connecting to your own ChatGPT account (it uses your existing ChatGPT plan, with no separate purchase).
Pirate Twist is made by a solo developer, and generative AI tools were used across production. Specifically: Art — some in-game visual art and the store capsule art were generated with Higgsfield image models against a fixed art-direction style, then hand-edited by the developer's wife: cut out, composited, colour-matched and retouched before going into the build. Audio — the seven music tracks were generated with Suno (Premier). Sound effects were generated with the ElevenLabs Sound Effects API (Creator). All were then edited, pitch-shifted and mastered by the developer's wife. Code — written with AI coding assistance. No AI runs at runtime. Nothing is generated on your machine while you play, and the game makes no AI service calls during play. Full commissioned art and audio is one of the items on the Roadmap for final release.
Generative AI was used as a development assistant for pre-release asset iteration, writing support, localization drafts, ideation and productivity tasks. Some visual assets and draft text/assets may have been assisted or iterated with generative AI before being reviewed and integrated into the game. This content is static and does not generate new content at runtime. The game does not use live generative AI to create content during gameplay. No player prompts are sent to an AI service at runtime. AI-assisted material is reviewed manually before inclusion. It is adjusted to match the game's style, naming, tone and technical requirements, and content that would be inappropriate, infringing or inconsistent with the project is not intentionally included.
Logo generated using photo editing generative AI. Music created using AI enabled Music Workflow.
Localization (translations) in this game was completed with AI assistance.
Used AI for store page promotional images
I am a solo developer who worked with external freelancers for art and audio. Some assets provided by these contributors might have been created or assisted by generative AI tools, though their specific workflow was not monitored.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence during gameplay to generate text and data based on player input and game context. The game does not use generative AI to generate artwork, audio, voice, music, videos, or other visual or sound assets. AI-generated content is limited to text and data used as part of the gameplay experience.
AI tools were used to assist in the creation of temporary promotional artwork and concept visuals for the Steam store page. Gameplay systems, implementation, balancing, and final game integration are developed manually.
All 2D visual artwork used in the game was created or edited with the assistance of generative AI tools, then manually reviewed, selected, adjusted, and implemented by the developer. This includes in-game sprites, visual assets, Steam store artwork, and promotional material.
Generative AI was used as one of many development tools while creating Snake: Gridbreaker. As a solo developer, I used it to support programming, localization, UI work, visual assets, icons, and the development of quality-of-life and accessibility improvements. Every AI-assisted element was reviewed, edited, tested, and implemented by me. I designed the game, its mechanics, progression, and creative direction, and I remain fully responsible for the final experience. The game does not generate content with AI during gameplay.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of some art assets. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the game.
Generative AI tools were utilized to assist in the creation of promotional materials. The game itself does not contain any live AI generation.
AI-assisted tools were used as part of the development workflow for prototyping, implementation support, and content iteration. The released game content was selected, edited, and curated by the developer. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay.
Some 2D character art (cat portraits / cosmetics previews) and a subset of sound effects were created with AI-assisted tools. All final assets were curated, edited, and reviewed by the developer. The game does not run any generative AI at runtime — no user input is sent to AI services.
Some placeholder art was generated using ethically trained local AI models.
I used AI to generate much of the code for this game. I did a lot of reviewing and tweaking the code, but a large portion of the core code for the game was generated by AI. The AI also generate the player and enemy "models". I had them generate to game scene files (tscn files in Godot) which are just simple text files. I tweaked many of them after initial generation. I also used AI to generate the various store page and icon art, and 4 images that are findable in the game as items AI was not used for the music in game, or the various art assets and SFX not mentioned above.
The game uses AI-generated content only for music and translation.
Some of the playable character and enemy models currently in the game were made with help from generative AI tools. I’m still working on these assets during development, and some or all of them may be replaced before release. I’ll update this disclosure if that changes.
translations into non-English languages (otherwise I could not translate the game into everyone's language in good time)
Used for multi-language support.
As a small indie team of 3 developers, we utilized AI technologies as a supplementary tool in highly specific areas to optimize our development pipeline and deliver a more immersive experience: Voice Acting: The character voice-overs in the game were generated using AI-assisted voice models. Concept Art: For the portrait designs appearing after the 2nd planet, AI was used strictly during the initial concept and ideation phase. All final assets were carefully refined and finalized by us to ensure strict visual consistency and match our artistic vision. Beyond these specific use cases, all programming, core game design, narrative, and primary in-game assets were handcrafted by our team. The game does not feature any live-generated AI content, and player safety/experience is fully controlled.
Monster Pit features handcrafted assets created by talented artists, musicians, and creators from the indie community. AI image generation tools were used during prototyping and stylization to keep the overall visual direction together.
Static art assets (store-page capsules, in-game card art, in-game icons) and audio placeholders are generated via Replicate (Google Nano Banana Pro for image, Lyria-2 / AudioGen for audio) using human-authored prompts. Outputs are reviewed by the developer before shipping. No live AI generation occurs during gameplay; all assets are baked at build time. I would like to pay for human assets, but I am moving fast. In the same way that AI turned 12 months of dev time into 2, it also affected how I skinned the MVP. This is best for communicating intention, and I can polish it with human art if there is traction.
Uses some AI for some assests, and throughout the development processes.
Since this is a large project for a two-person team, we used AI assistance to refine some code and create certain images that were difficult for us to capture in the real world. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, adjusted, and approved by us before being included in the game.
SILENT TERMINAL uses generative AI as a creative aid during development. Specifically, the promotional images on this store page (the capsule, header, key art and illustrations) were created with AI tools and then reviewed, edited and curated by our human team. The game itself is built from human created and human supervised content: the ASCII art, maps, branching stories, dialogue and RPG systems are designed by the team. SILENT TERMINAL does not generate content with AI in real time during play. All adventures are loaded from pre authored files.
Some of the sound designs we used partial ai sound effects and after we adjusted.
Some art assets are generative and some are not. Many assets were purchased and then updated with generative AI in order to look different from the original purchased assets. We would love to change these out for custom art if the game does well.
