Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some promotional artwork and the cinematic portions of our store trailer were created with the help of AI image and video generation tools. All crosshair overlays are rendered programmatically.
Generative AI was used during development for two background illustrations and to draft some in-game UI and popup text, which the developer then reviewed and shipped. The game does not use AI to generate content during gameplay.
Foundation Typer uses generative AI-assisted artwork, voice, and cinematic media elements for certain visual and promotional content, including portions of trailers, character presentation, and store assets. All gameplay systems, lesson structure, progression design, typing mechanics, interface functionality, and core training content were created and assembled as part of the game's original development.
In-game music tracks were created using generative AI-assisted tools and were subsequently edited, mixed, arranged, and mastered by the developer. All AI-generated material was reviewed and modified as part of the final audio production process.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with early concept art, visual ideation, logos, and certain promotional materials. All final in-game content and gameplay implementation were curated, edited, and integrated by the developers.
Some visual assets, promotional materials, and portions of development assistance for Word Rift were created with the help of generative AI tools under the direction and supervision of the developer.
Beyond the Fracture contains both pre-generated and live-generated AI content. Pre-generated AI content: Some visual, audio, and voice assets were generated with AI tools during development and reviewed, edited, and curated by the developers before being included in the game. This includes selected construct opponent portraits, spoken name clips, character histories, and HERALD-7 commentary voice clips in German and English. Live-generated AI content: During first-time onboarding, the game uses external AI services to generate three candidate player identities live. Each identity includes a generated profile portrait and a generated spoken name introduction. The profile portraits are additionally guided by internal short character descriptions generated from predefined archetypes and prompt templates. This live generation is constrained by predefined prompts, fixed character archetypes, a controlled name system, and no free-form text input from players. The player selects one of the three generated identities. The chosen identity cannot be changed during the current Playtest, and repeated regeneration is not available during normal gameplay. No live AI generation occurs during normal matches after onboarding.
Some store assets (such as capsules and promotional images) were created with the assistance of AI tools due to limited resources during development. All gameplay, design, and core content of Glowbot Tower Defense are fully original and developed by me. As future projects grow, I plan to collaborate with artists to further enhance the visual presentation.
Game Demon uses large language models (Llama 3.1/3.3 via Groq API, plus optional local Ollama inference) to generate coaching text in real time from the user's match data. Vision models analyze user-sampled frames. No user content is sent to third parties without explicit opt-in. No generative images or audio in final output.
Store capsule and promotional artwork was created with the assistance of generative AI image tools. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Pre-rendered background images and some UI cosmetic elements were created with the help of AI generation tools.
Generative AI was used exclusively to assist in creating the promotional cover art (capsule images) for the Steam store page. All in-game assets are human-crafted and contain no AI-generated content.
We use AI in part of the character design
Some additional support in development, there is no dynamic generated code
All narrative, lore, and in-game text were written entirely by our team. Music and sound design are produced by our talented sound designer. Character concepts and initial illustrations/visual designs are human created. AI tools were used to assist in the modeling pipeline, with all output reviewed, adjusted, and approved by the team. We are actively working towards bringing on a 3D artist as the project grows (reach out to us if this might be you).
Some visual assets were created with the assistance of generative AI and later refined by the developer. All content has been reviewed for originality. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
The game uses some AI images for placeholder purposes.
The visual key art for this game was generated with the use of AI.
Some of the promotional and storefront images were created with AI tools and then refined by hand. All of the in-game assets were designed by a 3D artist.
Claude code = Lots of code. Within the game client/server sure, but particularly within our game creation pipeline. It has enabled our artists/unity devs to create their own scripts/tools with blender/unity to streamline our content creation process. Also, CC used for creating python scripts used for MIDI music composition. Flux Dev image gen = spell icons. It did not write this message though :)
Some art and localization were aided by AI.
This game uses AI for coding, some in-game 2D elements, and localisations.
We may use AI-assisted tools during development to help streamline content creation—such as generating placeholder or supporting elements like character voiceovers. All AI-assisted content is guided, refined, and finalized by our development and creative team. The finished product fully reflects our creative vision, with AI serving only as a tool to accelerate the process—not replace the craftsmanship behind it.
This app includes pre-generated AI-assisted visual assets used in store/marketing materials and some in-game 2D visuals. No generative AI features are available to players during gameplay, and the game does not accept user prompts for AI generation.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence for localization and for some cinematic visuals. All in-game text has been translated into 20 languages using AI-assisted translation tools. The source language was written by the developer. AI-generated translations cover: English, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Dutch, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Vietnamese, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, and Arabic. Additionally, some cinematic visuals were pre-generated using AI image tools.
In game text localization provided by AI enabled API service.
A portion of the card art in Gather CCG was created with the assistance of generative AI. Every piece of AI-generated content has been hand-selected and verified by the developer to maintain high quality and ensure full compliance with copyright standards.
This project is being developed by a small two-person team. The use of AI tools in this project is strictly limited to the following assets: - flag textures - selected marketing assets and voice lines We plan to replace these elements with fully original, custom-created assets and professionally recorded voice acting as soon as funding allows. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team to ensure consistency and quality.
Some marketting assets may be a.i assisted.
Generative AI may have been used in creating pre-rendered or live-generated content for this game. All such content is the result of a human-led artistic and creative process.
AI was used to help with localizing texts and voice lines.
During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Generative AI tools are used as part of our development workflow to support concept exploration, character design, visual development, marketing media, video production, 3D modeling workflows, and code assistance. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and integrated by our development team before being included in the game or store materials. The game does not generate AI content live during gameplay.
Generative AI is used solely during development for supplemental, non-essential purposes, including design ideation, code production support, or localization assistance. These AI-generated outputs are limited in scope, reviewed by our development team, and never substitute human creative or technical decision-making. All final core assets and game content are created by Wargaming’s artists and developers.
This game contains visual assets generated using generative AI tools (including some characters, vehicles, and icons). All such assets have been reviewed and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay, nor does it generate any content in real time. All gameplay logic and systems are fully developer-created.
How we use artificial intelligence: Some creative assets in Slash The Tower were created with the help of generative AI. Art and music were produced using Google Gemini (AI-assisted generation). Those assets are pre-made and shipped with the game—they are not generated live while you play. Game code and parts of the user interface were developed with assistance from Cursor (an AI-enabled editor) together with Unity. That means design and implementation were guided by us as developers, with AI helping draft or refine code and UI-related work—not replacing human creative direction for the whole game. We do not use generative AI to create personalized or real-time content for each player session beyond what is described above. If we add AI-generated material to the Steam store page, community hubs, or marketing, we will treat it the same way: clearly labeled and consistent with this approach.
Generative Artificial Intelligence tools were used during development to assist in the creation, proofreading, and translation of texts (including the store page and tutorial dialogue), as well as aiding in the ideation and creation of some static 2D visual assets.
I have used Claude Code to create the game itself code and assets.
A small selection (approx. 15-20%) of the environmental wallpapers were AI-assisted to provide visual variety, while the majority of the 30+ artworks and the core 'Dojo' aesthetic are custom-designed. AI was also used to help master and refine the lofi soundtrack and assist with initial marketing drafts.
I was the archaic and fragmented DNA in the amber bound insect. AI was the frog DNA. Original Card Game: All card art is original, hand painted on canvas and physically printed on real cards (5,000 in total). The face images are scans of those pained canvas prints/ cards. AI was used to generate the card's backs and some of the playing surfaces/backgrounds. Coding: While I on and off experience in JavaScript since 2002, AI was used to help generate and debug portions of the code. I especially used AI when predicting potential conflicts and integration problems (especially Steam integration) before implementing new code. I found it very helpful when changing long sets of repetitive blocks of code. The volume of human error that was cut down was tremendous. Localization: Localization will be finalized in Beta. Initial translations were done with AI. Corrections and finalization will be done after input from the community (new game, some new terms). Music: We are Streamer first. Streamer need background music that won't affect their monetization. From the beginning, music that was all original, was critical to me. I wanted Streamers to have no worries when letting our background music play for hours. Musicians want astronomical payments and deals that will leave me perpetually paying them. I generated all of our music in Suno and own it all. I plan on releasing more, in two hour blocks, that will be available as free DLC's. All AI I used was after human talent quoted cost ineffective numbers or outright turned me down. This is a simple card game. A vehicle for a game and art I have made. I set out to make an affordable, sturdy, reliable, user focused game. AI helped me make the best product I could.
Image generation for fictional players (“NEWgens”) – creating visual portraits for entirely fictional characters. Localization support – assisting in the translation and adaptation of in-game text into different languages.
Player photos and team logos are generated by AI.
Some of the promotional and storefront images were created with AI tools and then refined by hand. All of the in-game assets were designed by a 3D artist.
Generative AI was used as a supportive tool for the localization (translation) of in-game texts.
During the development, AI assistance may be used in creating content used in the game. All such content is rooted in the original art direction of the project, and shaped individually before reaching the final product.
This game uses generative AI to assist in creating some 3D models and 2D assets included in the game.
Some of the game's visual elements were created using AI tools during the development stage (for example, the design of Albums). Artists manually refined all such materials. Generative AI is not used in the gameplay and does not generate any content during the game.
Some images, text, and sounds in this game might have been generated, in whole or in part, by generative artificial intelligence.
Some Generative AI is used. Knowing we are 2 young devs, we do not have a lot of budget, things will change in the future. We use AI for some of the cosmetics, majority of it are human made. Our code can sometimes be corrected or debugged by Agentic AI.
