Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game uses the assistance of Claude Code for code generation, ChatGPT for image generation, and Meshy for model generation.
Some visual assets in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All generated content has been reviewed and curated by the developer before being included in the game.
Steam store Image
Generative AI was used during the development of Phantom Fools as a helper tool. It was used for some images, sound effects, music, and small parts of code. The 3D models, animations, most of the code, and the main game design were made by the developers without generative AI. Everything made with AI was checked, edited, and added to the game manually. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay. No live AI-generated content is shown to players.
This game does not use generative AI to create any shipped game assets, including artwork, audio, or other player-facing content. We prioritize human-created assets and content throughout the development process. We may use AI-powered tools internally to assist with development workflows, research, testing, debugging, automation, marketing, and other backend tasks. These tools are used to support development efficiency and do not generate content that is presented directly to players as part of the game experience.
Static art assets (store-page capsules, in-game card art, in-game icons) and audio placeholders are generated via Replicate (Google Nano Banana Pro for image, Lyria-2 / AudioGen for audio) using human-authored prompts. Outputs are reviewed by the developer before shipping. No live AI generation occurs during gameplay; all assets are baked at build time. I would like to pay for human assets, but I am moving fast. In the same way that AI turned 12 months of dev time into 2, it also affected how I skinned the MVP. This is best for communicating intention, and I can polish it with human art if there is traction.
This game uses AI-generated tools to assist in the creation of certain assets, including music and logo design used in promotional materials such as the trailer. All gameplay content, art direction, and game design are created by the developer.
We use AI for code review and task scheduling.
We continue to draw all game art by hand. Some of our sounds have been generated using a tool called ElevenLabs. We use a wide range of co-development tools to help optimise and test the code in our minigames. We have used tools like OpenAI to help with localisation of our content to other languages.
The game's radio includes AI-generated music tracks.
Its used for some Art and some of the Code
Since this is a large project for a two-person team, we used AI assistance to refine some code and create certain images that were difficult for us to capture in the real world. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, adjusted, and approved by us before being included in the game.
LLM coding tools were used to assist programming and for localizing text into non-English languages. No AI tools were used in the art process, audio, game design, or balancing. No version prior to 0.9 contained LLM output.
AI-assisted tools were used during parts of the development process to support the creation and enhancement of certain visual and audio assets.
Some of the 2D content was generated by AI but was then refined by humans to preserve the team’s artistic vision.
We are using AI generated images for our store page materials and some in game visuals (some icons etc.)
Current store artwork, in-game loading screen images, and background music were created with assistance from generative AI tools. These assets were manually reviewed and edited by the development team.
Dynasty and RTG Modes - Storyline content in hub screen, Design Implementation and tuning Commentary scripting support Trophy Room Support Creating more realistic play calls made by CPU teams
Some visual assets in OMNICORIUM were generated using AI tools, either directly during development or sourced from third-party creators who used AI-assisted generation. AI is used exclusively for selected visual assets. It is not used for gameplay systems, player interactions, procedural mechanics, or dynamic content generation.
Clairval uses AI in the following limited ways: 1) Optional AI bot players: When a game host enables "Allow AI players", the server may fill empty seats with computer-controlled bot accounts at game start. These bots follow scripted server-side game logic (votes, night actions, chat). They are not powered by generative AI or large language models, and they do not learn from player conversations. 2) AI-generated visual assets (optional): Some provisional role card illustrations (placeholder JPG artwork) were created with AI-assisted tools during development. Final redrafted role cards (PNG) are human-made and always shown. Players can disable display of AI-generated placeholder art at any time in Account Settings → "Display AI-generated content?" (default: hidden until the player opts in). Clairval does not use generative AI to create in-match dialogue, role assignments, game outcomes, moderation decisions, or real-time gameplay content. All core game rules and results are determined by the game server.
Some of this game's marketing artwork (Steam store capsules and banners) was generated with the help of an AI image model (FLUX via Runware) and then composited and edited by hand for the final assets. Translations for 14 of the 16 supported languages — Danish, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Spanish, and Swedish — were produced by machine translation (DeepL). Only English and Czech are reviewed and edited by a human; the other translations may contain mistakes, and corrections are welcome.
This game uses generative AI to assist with code completion and localization translation. The game's library cover art, promotional images are hand-drawn and then enhanced with AI.
Character, monster, and object sprites, as well as the app icon, were created using AI image generation tools and subsequently hand-edited and refined by the developer. Some in-game text was written with AI assistance.
Deep In The Mine was developed by a single person. Artificial intelligence was used to save time and correct certain shortcomings, particularly in audio creation and mesh generation.
Generative AI was used to assist in translating the game's menus and user interface text into multiple languages.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with localization and Steam capsule / marketing artwork.
Some content and assets used during development may have involved AI-assisted tools as part of the creative workflow.
Some assets in this work are AI-generated: Store page: Store promotional images, library promotional images, library homepage image. Game itself: Some 3D models, background music, sound effects.
I have used AI to design some parts of the main menu, data models, design of the multiplayer system and room system and to improve the heuristic armies behavior.
This game use ai for music, voices and main menu background
I used AI for localization.
This game is developed using a combination of artificial intelligence tools and human creativity. AI helps accelerate parts of the design and production process—such as prototyping, asset iteration, and content generation—allowing us to build richer experiences more efficiently. However, every element of the game is carefully reviewed, refined, and supervised by our development team. From gameplay design to final implementation, humans remain fully involved to ensure quality, consistency, and a fun player experience.
much of this game was vibe coded using Antigravity.
This game uses generative AI in the following ways: • Some of the 2D artwork, images, and icons used in the game and on its Steam store page were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All such assets were then reviewed, edited, and curated by our team. • Translations for the game's supported languages (localization) were produced with the assistance of generative AI (machine translation) tools. All AI-generated content is pre-generated during development. The game does not generate any AI content live during gameplay.
AI used to help with some of the localization
KI wird ungesetzt zur Unerstützung bei der Programmierung und der Grafikerstellung.
The store page capsule and secondary assets (like machine icons) were AI-generated using existing in-game screenshots as a base.
Gen AI is used for localisation on the store page and ingame.
Some language translations were reviewed by AI.
Some character dance music tracks were created using generative AI tools. These tracks are pre-generated audio assets and are not generated dynamically during gameplay.
Some textures for secondary objects, such as the images used in some paintings, have been generated by AI.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with the creation and iteration of some marketing and store page visual materials. Final assets are manually reviewed, edited, and selected by the developer. The game itself is developed by MICROMETA using original production work and game assets.
Generative AI tools were used in a limited capacity to assist with marketing materials and early concept visuals during development. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and approved by the development team. The final shipped game contains no generative AI content.
Some 2D visual assets in Hollow Stars were created with the help of generative AI image tools during development. This includes parts of the store and marketing artwork, the achievement icons, and background art used in the game's cinematic intro. Every AI-assisted asset was reviewed, edited and curated by the development team before release. Generative AI is not used while you play. The game runs no generative AI at runtime — the in-game faction "AI" is a fully deterministic, rule-based simulation, not a generative model. No player input or data is sent to any AI service.
Crown Caps Soccer uses generative artificial intelligence tools for part of its content. Specifically, we use AI to generate and translate interface text and descriptions, as well as to assist in creating certain in-game content. All AI-generated content is reviewed by our team before publication.
Some in-game icons, certain image assets, and some music are AI-generated.
This game uses AI-generated content for card artwork and visual assets. Some translations were assisted by AI tools and reviewed for accuracy.
The background music (BGM) tracks and some key visual art assets included in this application were created using AI generation tools.
This game uses AI tools to assist with some translation, programming, and asset creation.
Empire Together uses generative AI to enrich the gameplay experience. AI is used to dynamically generate character dialogue, quest descriptions, and event text, delivering a more varied and immersive narrative experience. All generated content is supervised and reviewed by our team to ensure consistency with the game's universe.
